Connection device for pipes.
The object of the invention is a connection device for pipes suitable for all pipes, in particular for connecting pipes of heating installations using water, oil or steam as heat exchange fluid.
Usual fittings have threaded parts and clamping nuts and are very often difficult to seal and maintain, especially when the heat exchange fluid, the temperature of which can reach or exceed 200 "C., Subjects the pipes to expansion effects and at the same time near sions which may be of the order of 7 to 8 kg / cm2.
The connection device according to the present invention has the advantage of being able to be easily mounted under the most difficult conditions, for example under water or in an atmosphere.

re explosive, because it does not require threading, soldering or welding; and to allow the ends of the pipes that it connects to approach or move away depending on the thermal deformations of the pipe. As a result, the use of thermal compensation members, such as expansion lyres, becomes unnecessary.
In accordance with the invention, the connecting device comprises in an outer sleeve of a rigid material provided at each end with a longitudinal notch, two clamping collars, the tabs of which exit through the notches, as well as an inner sleeve made of an elastic material substantially the length of the outer sleeve. The end edges of the outer sleeve are folded down so as to hold the hose clamps and the inner sleeve in place and to allow the introduction therein of the pipes to be connected which are then held in place by tightening the clamps around the inner sleeve.
The pipes to be connected are preferably slightly flared at the end so that, when introduced into the inner sleeve, the flared part fits between the hose clamps and thereby prevents dislocation which could occur. be provoked by a water hammer,
The outer and inner sleeves are preferably made up of pipe ends.
The outer sleeve may be made of metal or of a synthetic material capable of withstanding the pressure which may prevail in the pipe as well as the temperature of the heat exchange fluid, while the elastic inner sleeve is preferably made of a material. synthetic cell! raincoat. The inner sleeve may be corrugated transversely over all or part of its length.
By its elasticity, the inner sleeve is capable of absorbing at least partially the water hammer which compress it. @ more by pressing it against the outer sleeve. This anti-shock effect is obviously more marked when using a corrugated sleeve, but already a straight sleeve appreciably attenuates the

shocks and the resulting noise. The pipes assembled by means of fittings according to the invention are therefore distinguished by the silent circulation of the heat exchange fluid,
The appended drawing represents by way of example two execution forces of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of the device; fig. 2 is a section taken along the line II-II of FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 shows a modified embodiment.
The connection device comprises an outer sleeve 1 provided at each end with a notch 2. This sleeve is made of a suitable rigid material, resistant to the internal pressure prevailing in the piping, as well as to the temperature of the heat exchange fluid. that circulates there. Most often the sleeve will preferably be made of metal, for example copper, but in other cases, it can be made of synthetic material. Spring steel hose clamps 3 are placed inside the sleeve 1, of which! The clamping nut lugs 4 come out through the notches 2.
An inner sleeve 5 of an elastic material, advantageously of an impermeable cellular synthetic material, is threaded into the outer sleeve and capable of being tightened by the collars 3; the ends 6 of the outer sleeve are then folded back in order to hold the collars and the inner sleeve in place. In the latter can be introduced pipes 7, the end 8 of which is flared by means of a mandrel. After tightening the collars 3, part 8 is trapped on the inside of the collars, which prevents the fitting from disengaging.
The elasticity of the inner sleeve allows a certain sliding of the pipes inside the fitting, to compensate for the thermal expansion of the elements of the pipe, without compromising the absolute tightness of the latter,
In the embodiment according to Figure 3, the inner sleeve 5 'is corrugated, to the effect of absorbing the blows of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
ram and reduce the noise produced by these blows.
