<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Device for discharging a measured quantity of liquid, for example from a flush (water.
The present invention relates to a device for discharging a measured quantity of liquid. for example of a charter not water for WC.
The object of the present invention is to deliver a measured quantity of liquid for any purpose and to regulate the discharge of the liquid as required, i.e. a small quantity of liquid or a larger quantity. can be unloaded whenever the flush is running.
According to the invention, a device for discharging a measured quantity of liquid comprises a reservoir capable of being filled with the required quantity of liquid, a bell placed in the reservoir on three or more feet, a discharge pipe in the bell. passing through the bottom to the tank, the upper end

higher to the pipe going almost to the bottom of the bell and slightly boosting the liquid level in the bell when the reservoir is filled a hydraulic guard at the discharge end of the pipe and an operating lever attached to the upper part of the bell,
a system being provided to evacuate the air flushing the bell when the tank fills. *
According to a particularity of the intention, the reservoir may be filled to the required quantity of liquid by means of a valve of the ball float type. The valve can be adjusted to change the amount of liquid to be introduced into the tank.
According to another feature of the invention, the upper end of the discharge pipe is located slightly above the liquid level in the bell when it is filled to the required level, so that when the bell is raised the liquid contained in the tank rushes out through the hose, The height of the hose in the tank can be adjusted according to the quantity of liquid to be discharged.
According to another feature of the invention, the hydraulic guard is produced by bending the lower end of the discharge pipe in an S-shape and filling the elbow with water, an additional pipe being provided to connect the vertical part of the pipe. discharge pipe at the elbow, above at, the water level in the elbow, to allow air from inside the bell to be expelled as the tank fills.
According to a variant of the invention, a separate chamber is provided below the reservoir or inside the latter to contain the hydraulic guard and serve as a siphon and the lower end of the discharge pipe is immersed in water. contained in the siphon, a separate pipe being introduced into the siphon to drain the water, a vent hole also being provided in the discharge pipe just above the water level in the siphon to allow the air from inside the bell to escape when the tank fills *
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Pana a variant of the invention,
the height of the discharge pipe in the tank is made adjustable by using a two-part discharge pipe! ', one located inside the tank and the other outside the latter, and connecting the two parts to the pipe by stop nuts to a connection welded at the bottom of the tank. The liquid in the tank is adjusted to a level determined by the height of the pipe by adjusting the float valve to discharge different measured amounts of liquid.
The invention also provides a flushing device serving to discharge a measured quantity of water comprising a reservoir @ capable of being filled with the required quantity of water, a bell placed in the reservoir on three or more feet, a pipe The bell going through the bottom of the tank, the upper end of the pipe going almost to the bottom of the Pickaxe, and being located slightly above the water level in the bell when the tank is full. , a hydraulic guard at the discharge end of the hose and an actuated lever attached to the upper part of the bell,
a system being provided to evacuate the air expelled from the bell when the tank fills.
The invention will be described below, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which t fig 1 represents a flush according to the invention; fig 2 shows a flush according to a variant of the invention; Fig.3 shows a variant in which the discharge pipe is adjustable, other parts being cooked; fig. 4 shows the ball float valve separately, the other parts of the tank being omitted. fig. 5 shows another embodiment of the invention.

In these drawings, for clarity, the flushes are represented on the figs. 1 to 3, do not show the ball float valve which is however shown separately in fig. 4. This spherical float valve is provided in all the flushes shown in figs. 1 to 3 and works in the classic way, that is to say that the float goes down as the water is discharged from the flushing tank and opens the water inlet valve and goes up again. that the tank refills and closes the valve when the required water level is reached in the tank.
But the construction of the valve is slightly modified to make the float adjustable in order to be able to fill the tank to different levels according to the needs * In this construction, the rod R carrying the float tilts green down from the inlet valve d The water is bent towards the top to bring the float G to its upper end by means of a wing screw H which regulates the height of the float.
In these figures,! represents the flushing tank, 0 the overflow pipe, C the bell which encloses the discharge pipe A and which rests on 8 feet and BL the actuating lever which is attached to the upper part of the bell, a pipe P being provided on the freezes. 1 and 3 and a vent K in fig. 2.
In fig. 1, the lower end of pipe A is bent in the shape of 8, this bend containing a hydraulic guard which serves as a siphon. In fig. 2, a separate siphon is formed by a chamber B located below the bottom of the tank which contains the water in which the discharge pipe A. plunges. Another pipe D is introduced into the chamber B at the bottom of that. - ci and evacuates the water when the flush is activated by the Si * lever. In fig. 3, a fitting E is welded to the bottom of the tank T and the discharge pipe A is fixed to the fitting by a stop nut F and the 8-bend is fixed to the lower part of the fitting by another stop nut F .

The hydraulic guard is therefore designed in such a way that, although it cannot destroy the vacuum which exists in the pipe, it allows air to escape as the tank fills up, ensuring a flush operation, the water level in the bell should be just below the top end of hose A.
For this purpose, as shown in dotted lines on the figs. 1 and 2 ;, the spherical float is regulated in such a way that the water level in the

EMI5.5
On the freeze bzz the vent X is not necessary to discharge the air trapped in the bell C and in the pipe A if the lower end of the pipe A is adjusted so that a quarter of an inch (6, 35 mm) from this end plunges into the water contained in the siphon. in this tome of achievement,

the trapped air escapes through the siphon as the pressure increases inside the bell 0 and pipe x.
DA finds experimentally that the pressure exerted is sufficient * to expel the air The great advantage is that the siphon is one way
EMI6.2
Unique is that it allows the air trapped in bell C and in pipe A to escape while preventing air from entering through the bottom of pipe A.
In operation, when the operating lever 8L @ is raised, the bell C is raised from the bottom of the tank and a vacuum is created in the space of the bell located above the discharge pipe A. As a result of this vacuum , the water rushes through both pipe A and a siphonic action is initiated

When the quantity of water to be discharged must be reduced, the height of the pipe is lowered and at the same time the spherical float is adjusted so that the inlet valve closes before the roof water level reaches in the tank because, to achieve efficient operation,
the water level in the bell must always be below!

<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
air a high discharge speed * In this variant, the vent K is not provided. Pipe A is tapered and the case of pipe A overlaps the top of pipe D, more than on rod 2. The overlap is represented by .the distance X.
In this embodiment, the air trapped in the bell C is discharged as in fig. 2 (without the vent K) but when the water level reaches the upper end of the pipe A, in the bell C, the water level outside of bell C is higher by a distance Y. The distances X and Y are always equal. There is always a slight air pressure in the pipe A and in the upper part of the bell C when the tank is ready to discharge.
This pressure is released and a vacuum is created when the bell C is raised by means of the actuating lever BL and the siphonic action is immediately initiated.
However, in said variant, the pipe A does not have to be conical up to the upper end of the bell but only up to. about half of its height, after which it has the shape of a cylindrical body.
The device following the invention can be used for low flush toilets. It supplies a measured quantity of water and although its application to a flush has been described in this specification, it can also be used in other apparatus requiring the delivery of a measured quantity of liquid.
