<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
connues.

<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>
<Desc/Clms Page number 12>
<Desc/Clms Page number 13>
<Desc/Clms Page number 14>
<Desc/Clms Page number 15>
2. La oame 37 agit sur un galet
<Desc/Clms Page number 16>
<Desc/Clms Page number 17>

moldings - in particular brick pieces - arranged on a support, for example slats, using a vertical conveyor and a mobile frame comprising several lateral supports superimposed at intervals and extending cantilevered over the front face of the frame, which can be introduced into the vertical conveyor and have a length such that they can receive several rows of molded parts, arranged side by side.
In the ceramics industry, the transport of molded parts, such as brick dough pieces, to and from the drying plant is carried out using
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
storage or removal trolley * with ten or more shelves, taking into account the size of the pieces * executed.
In order to be able to ensure the service with as small a number as possible of removal trolleys, these checkers have been established so that several rows of mold pieces $, arranged on slats., Can be superimposed on each other and that, moreover, several rows four or five, for example - of castings can be placed side by side in each level, so that one obtains four or five juxtaposed stacks of rows of welded pieces.
In order to avoid an interruption of the continuous working cycle during the loading of the collection carriages, the rows of molded parts must be stacked both in several superimposed stages and in several juxtaposed stacks. To this end, a vertical conveyor has hitherto been used, which initially arranged the rows of parts in ten or more superimposed stages.
By using a suspended frame, rolling on a fixed frame - frame provided with lateral supports superimposed at intervals, which advance in cantilever on the front face of the frame and can be introduced into the vertical conveyor - carried out a maneuver by which the rows of castings, superimposed on ten floors, were first withdrawn from the vertical conveyor by making the supports of the suspended frame penetrate into the vertical conveyor, then lifting the entire suspended frame or brackets, then removing the frame from the vertical conveyor.
The reams of castings were then placed on the fixed supports of a stationary frame, with the hanging frame lowered, the cycle described above being repeatable until several of these rows of castings. superimposed in floors, were juxtaposed in piles. This accomplished, all the batteries were

raised together with the suspended frame, after which a storage or transfer cart was introduced into and frame. Then lowering the hanging frame, the rows of castings were placed on the transfer carriage support forks.
This known stacking device requires expensive constructions and also has various drawbacks.

For castings, a powerful control motor with a relatively heavy transmission system must be provided. This motor itself is relatively expensive, as it must be set up for very frequent maneuvers and must be * which. from an effective brake,

considerable energy. In addition, the lifting and screeding of the rows of molded parts, with the aid of the suspended frame, has a drawback in that when the rows of molded parts are placed on the fixed supports. , or when lifting the row? of parts using the published supports, shocks occur, so that the slats are imprinted in the molded parts, still in the state

This results in indentations due to the slats and which, 1; "* of the drying of the molded parts or pastes cause drying tanks, because the dough pieces are prevented from moving freely as a result of the presence of these 8m- preiatta. The stationary frame with the fixed supports -, which. exactly the same length as 1 (. ,, mobile supports, so that they can accommodate several
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
juxtaposed rows of eyebolts - involves a high expenditure on material. In the case of the known suspended chassis, the control units are arranged on an upper frame of a high weight, which increases the overall height of the known stacking device and, moreover, makes it necessary to provide a support frame. very robust.
Due to the large overall height of the known stacking device, it is not possible to install this after the fact in existing installations in the ceramics industry, unless considerable conversion work is undertaken. in order to enhance the premises in which such known stacking devices are to be erected. Another disadvantage of the known stacking device is that the loading of the removing carriages was ensured by the lowering of the hanging frame.
Thus, for example, in the event of inattention during the introduction of the removal carriage canopy the suspended frame, and if the latter does not occupy its upper position at this precise moment, the continuation - which is @u - automatic- the movement of the suspended frame can lead to a serious work accident. In addition, the stacking device. known required a complicated electric steering system, since the suspended frame had to be moved horizontally and vertically at a very rapid rate. The electric steering system was therefore also expensive and did not offer absolute operational safety.
The horizontal displacement of the suspended frame and the vertical up and down movements of the latter required the acceleration or braking of large loads, namely, all the dough pieces present in the suspended frame. This had a drawback that the operating speed of the known stacking device could not be increased at will. However, the ability to
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
boudineuae which produces the dough pieces depends directly on the operating speed of the stacking frame. The extruder could not produce a greater number of dough pieces than could be removed with the aid of the piling device.
The present invention aims to establish a stacking and transporting device of the type specified above, but which does not have the drawbacks of stacking devices. ge knew. The stacking and transport device, according to the present invention * is characterized by lateral supports each noting in a narrow fine groin conveyor belt, by a retaining system * intended for each conveyor belt and fixed to a stationary frame, system which, during the forward movement of the Chinese in the direction of the vertical carrier, makes it possible to retain the upper strand, while, during the return movement, it allows the lower strand to be retained,
the arrangement being such that the frame carrying the supports does not perform vertical movements and that the direction of movement of the vertical conveyor can be reversed, so that the rows of dough pieces are deposited on the cantilevered supports. The stacking and transport device according to the invention operates as follows. A control motor, which can be arranged outside the mobile frame, moves the latter in both directions relative to the vertical conveyor.
During these movements, the conveyor belts are immobilized by means of retaining systems attached to a stationary frame, such aorta that the rows have eyebolts. at this moment on the conveyor belts keep their position relative to the fixed frame, hand move relative to the mobile frame by a distance equal to that traveled by the latter frame when it penetrates into the vertical transporter.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
We thus obtain $ on the cantilevered end of the conveyor belts, more free space for new rows of dough pieces, which are deposited ** on these belts.
1 following the reversal of the * eu * of the movement of the vertical conveyor * In this arrangement, the conveyor belts are not retained during the return movement of the mobile frame so that the rows of dough pieces retain their respective positions relative to the frame mobile, watt moving in relation to the frame. fixed.
Instead of retaining the upper end of the conveyor bauds * during the introduction of the mobile frame in the vertical conveyor, the inner end of these bands can be retained during the exit of this frame. This last arrangement also has the effect of freeing up, on the conveyor belts, following * the back and forth movement of the mobile frame, the necessary space * air * for new rows of eyebolts. The design of the stacking device ± * and transport according to the invention offers various advantages *:
From now on, when the rows * of pitons are juxtaposed to form several piles, these rows are no longer raised and lowered, but only * in the horizontal direction. It is therefore unnecessary to provide a heavy lifting motor and a corresponding transmission.
This significantly reduces the overall height of the stacking and conveying device according to the invention. Consequently, this device can be incorporated into various existing installations of the ceramic industry, without requiring a costly conversion. Locals. The elimination of the motor for the ascent and descent, as well as of the landing gear mechanism, allows a lighter construction of the movable frame, so that the latter can be set up at less cost.
The suppression of the up and down movement and therefore of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
motor charged to operate these movements, allows to achieve a considerable saving in electrical energy. The electric steering is also simplified to a great extent, since it suffices to provide a small electric motor for the horizontal displacement of the frame. Electrical equipment therefore becomes less expensive and less vulnerable. In addition, it suffices to provide a stationary frame of short length, which carries the retention system. This frame may have a length which is appreciably less than that of the movable frame, which represents a considerable saving in material compared to the known stacking device.
In addition, this frame can be of a lighter construction, because the movable frame can move on the ground, so that the fixed frame does not serve to support the movable frame. Given that, during the horizontal transport of the rows of dough pieces the upward and downward movement this suppressed, it no longer occurs shocks liable to give rise to harmful impressions caused by the slats. When moving the mobile frame relative to the vertical conveyor, the rows of dough pieces keep their fixed position. It follows that these rows of dough pieces must not undergo any acceleration. It suffices to move the mobile frame.
This circumstance, together with the elimination of the lifting and lowering movement, during which it was also necessary until now to determine the acceleration of large masses, allow a considerable increase in the working speed with the new device. stacking and transport. The capacity of the press or extruder is no longer limited, as at present, by the stacking device. The total weight of the stacking and transport device according to the invention is reduced by approximately 40% compared to that of the constructions
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
known. This reduction in weight alone brings out the considerable saving in material which can be achieved with the aid of the stacking and conveying device according to the invention.
Other advantages and features of the invention will be described below in more detail with reference to several exemplary embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings.

In these drawings, 1 denotes the molded parts, for example briqué dough pieces - several of which are arranged side by side on two slats 2. These dough pieces, placed on the slats, together limit a row of pegs. The dough pieces arrive at short intervals, of about 5 seconds, on the transverse conveyor 3 and are taken up from this onto the vertical conveyor 4, which moves intermittently from bottom to top, each time one level. . Taking into account the size of the dough pieces, the vertical conveyor moves upwards intermittently by a distance corresponding to 10 or more stages (effectively 10 stages have been shown in this exemplary embodiment).
When the upper row of dough pieces has reached the tenth floor, the onseable of the stack, constituted by 10 superimposed rows of dough pieces, is removed by the stacking and transport device according to the invention. Before describing the operation of the stacking and transport device according to the invention, the construction thereof will first be explained. This stacking and transport device according to the invention essentially comprises a horizontal movable frame and comprising several lateral supports 6 superimposed at intervals, which project in cantilever on the front face of the frame, each support 6 being constituted by an endless conveyor belt 7.
The mobile frame is surrounded by a fixed frame 8 which serves to attach a retaining system for each conveyor belt, a system which will be described in more detail below. In addition, and as indicated in figs. 1 and 2, the stationary frame 8
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
can also be used to guide the mobile frame 5, the upper face of which is provided. , this effect of suitable guide rollers 9.
To allow the assembly of each * of the conveyor belts 7. there is provided a support rail 11 fixed to the frame 5 by means of an angle bar 10 or of a similar element * On this support rail is supported the upper strand of the conveyor belt. The support rail 11 also has at its two ends return pulleys * 1 2 and 13 for the conveyor belt 7.
The conveyor belt 7 consists of a chain, preferably a roller chain; the return pulleys 12 and 13 are therefore 4 chain pulleys. The conveyor belt may be an endless V-belt, or the like, instead of a chain.
According to the invention, there is also provided a retaining system for each conveyor belt, this system being fixed to the stationary frame 8 and making it possible to retain the upper section of the conveyor belt when the mobile frame 5 advances towards the vertical conveyor 4. or when he moves away from it. In the first exemplary embodiment, shown in the figs. 1 to 5 and 9, the chain pulley 13 is fixed for this purpose on a shaft 14, which is coupled, with the interposition of a free wheel 15, to another shaft, 16, which carries a pinion 17.
Above the pinion 17 is disposed a rack 18, fixed to the stationary frame 8 and meshing with the pinion 17. The length L of the rack corresponds only to the distance * H, approximately, of the mobile frame 5. In In the first exemplary embodiment, the freewheel 15 is arranged in such a way that, when the frame / 5 advances towards the vertical conveyor 4, the two shafts 14 and 16 are coupled together, although they rotate in meaning
<Desc / Clms Page number 11>
opposite when the frame 5 performs its return movement.
It is also possible to provide a fixed control motor 19, located outside the movable frame 5 and intended to produce the outward and return movements of the latter, this motor performing said reciprocating movements of the movable frame 5. using a connecting rod-crank system 20 and a rod 21. Thanks to the presence of the connecting rod-crank system 20, the drive motor can ensure the movements of the frame in both directions, while constantly rotating in the same way.
To avoid sagging in the lower strand of the conveyor chain 7, a protective screen 22 can also be provided, on which the lower strand of the conveyor chain 7 rests.
The operation of the stacking and transport device according to the invention will be explained below, with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5. When the vertical conveyor, having carried out its intermittent movements, is filled with row :) of dough pieces up to the upper floor, the control motor 19 is started, so that the mobile chassis is brought by the rod 21 to the vertical conveyor, in the direction of arrow A. As indicated above, the two shafts 14 and 16 are coupled together. Due to the meshing of the pinion 17 with the fixed rack le, this pinion rotates in the direction of arrow B, so that the conveyor chain 7 moves in the direction of arrows Cl and C2 on its support rail 11.
By suitably choosing the diameter of the pinion 17, we can make the upper strand of the chain move in the direction C1 at the speed at which the chassis 5 moves in the direction A. In this way, the rows of dough pieces arranged *
<Desc / Clms Page number 12>
on the conveyor chain 7 retain their respective positions relative to the fixed frame 8. On the other hand, they move the distance H on the mobile frame, so that, as indicated in FIG. 4, a location for a new row of eyebolts is freed on the cantilever end.
When the movable frame 5 reaches its previous position, the direction of movement of the vertical conveyor 4 is reversed, so that the rows of dough pieces which it contains come to be placed on the different superimposed conveyor chains. Then, the movable frame performs a return movement in the direction D. As indicated above, the two shafts 14 and / 16 are disengaged during this movement, thanks to the freewheel 15. Consequently, the pinion 17 can rotate. freely in the E direction, without entry. n the chain pulley 13. It follows that the rows of eyebolts move rearward by distance H, while maintaining their position relative to the mobile frame 5.
This cycle can be repeated after the vertical conveyor has been loaded again up to the upper deck, until the desired number of rows of pagans are juxtaposed in the next stacking and transport device. invention and are evacuated with the aid of a removal carriage, not shown, which enters the stacking and transport device from the left side thereof, considering FIG. 2.
The restraint system described above, which operates using a freewheel, pinion and rack, can pull replaced by the restraint system shown in the figs. 6 to 8 and 10 and 11. In the latter retaining system, the chain pulley 13 is fixed to one end of a shaft 14a, the other end of which carries a second chain pulley 23. On this second pulley chain pass
<Desc / Clms Page number 13>
tilt auxiliary chain 24, the return of which is provided by means of the chain pulley 25. This auxiliary chain can be significantly shorter than the conveyor chain 7.
The end of the chain located between the return pulleys 23 and 25 must only have a length substantially equal to that of the stroke H of the chassis 5. A stop pawl 26, ballasted with a spring, is engaged in the upper or lower end of the chain. In the example of execution shown, this stop aliquet 26 attacks the lower strand of the chain: ne, the arrangement being such that, when the frame 5 performs its return movement, the auxiliary chain 24 is jammed. . The operation of this system is shown in the figures. 6 to 8. When the frame 5 moves in the direction A, the stop pawl 26 is disengaged, so that the conveyor chain 7 and the auxiliary chain 24 do not perform any movement.
It follows that the rows of dough pieces on the conveyor chain 7 move in the direction of the vertical conveyor 4, together with the frame 5. After the vertical conveyor has reached its extreme anterior position, its movement is reversed, so that the rows of eyebolts are placed on the cantilevered ends of the conveyor chains, as shown in fig. 7.
When the movable frame makes its return movement in the direction of arrow D, the stop pawl 27 engages in the lower run of the auxiliary chain 24, so that the latter is stopped, following which the upper strand of the auxiliary chain 24 and the conveyor chain 7 perform a movement in the direction C3, this movement being carried out at a speed double that of the stroke of the chassis 5 in the direction D.
It can therefore be seen that the rows of dough pieces are transported in the direction C3 at a speed double that of the frame 5, so that,
<Desc / Clms Page number 14>
as shown in fig. 8, a location for a new row of scallops becomes available at the cantilever end. The cycle described above is repeated until a sufficient number of eyebolts are ready to be removed by the removal carriage.
The stop pawl 26, which attacks the lower end of the auxiliary chain 24 during the return movement of the chiasis 5, can be replaced by a stop pawl 26a, shown in dotted lines in the figures. 10 and 11 and which attacks the upper strand during the forward movement of this frame. The operation of the system, when the stop pawl is arranged in this way, is identical to that described in the first exemplary embodiment.
In figs. 12 and 13, another retaining system has been described, of particularly simple construction. This retaining system comprises a stop pawl 27 weighted with a spring, which laterally attacks the flanges of the conveyor chain 7 and blocks either the upper part of the chain, during the forward movement of the chassis, or the lower end of this chain, during the backward movement of this frame. The spring loaded pawl 27 is fixed with an arm 28 to the stationary frame 8.
In order to prevent a lateral displacement of the chain 7 under the effect of the stop pawl 27, a sliding or guide rail 30 is provided laterally to the transport chain. This guide rail can be replaced if necessary. by a second stop pawl which attacks the conveyor chain 7 symmetrically with respect to the first stop pawl. This second stop pawl operates in a manner analogous to that of the two exemplary embodiments described in the first place, so that it is unnecessary to proceed to a new description of this operation.
<Desc / Clms Page number 15>
In the freeze. 14 to 16 there is shown a transverse conveyor 31 serving to load the vertical conveyor 4.
This is a particularly favorable embodiment of the transverse conveyor 31. To increase the capacity of the stacking and transport device according to the invention, the end 31a of the transverse conveyor 31, the end which opens onto the conveyor vertical 4, is set up so that it can be raised and lowered, so that the transverse conveyor can lower when reversing the movement of the vertical conveyor.
Before setting out the operation of the transverse conveyor 31 in a more particular way, the details thereof will be described in detail, with reference to Figs, 14 to 16.
The transverse conveyor essentially comprises two endless conveyor belts 32 arranged at a certain distance from each other and parallel to each other. The die- tance between these two conveyor belts 32 is slightly less than the length of the rows of dough, that is to say, that of the slats 2. The endless conveyor belts 32 are guided at the front and at the back. rear on return pulleys 33 and 36. The front return pulley, located in the vertical conveyor, is mounted so that it can be raised and lowered. To this end, this pulley is mounted in a pivoting frame 34, the pivot axis 35 of which coincides with the axis of rotation of the rear deflection pulley 36.
The pivoting of the frame 36 is produced by means of a cam 37, the control of which is advantageously provided by the motor 19a which is used to control the frame 5. Unlike the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the drive motor 19a is attached directly to the vertical conveyor and not at a certain distance from it, as shown in fig. 2. The oame 37 acts on a roller
<Desc / Clms Page number 16>
39 rotatably mounted on the frame.
The device which has just been described operates as follows:
The rows of dough pieces, each of which is made up of several brick pegs 1 resting on the slats 2, go on a longitudinal conveyor 40, to an elevator-loader 41. This elevator-loader lifts each row of dough pieces separately. on the transverse conveyor 31. With each movement of the elevating loader 41, the conveyor belts 32 advance a distance in the direction E, thus leaving room for a new row of dough pieces.
Normally, the conveyor belts 32 and the frame 34 occupy the position shown in FIG. 14. The front end 31a of the transverse conveyor is situated slightly higher than the endless conveyor belts 7 of the frame 5. When these elements occupy this position, the rows of dough pieces are brought into the interior of the vertical conveyor. , as a result of which the latter again moves the distance of one floor upwards. When the frame 5 is intended to receive the dough pieces of 10 superimposed rows of dough pieces, for example, the vertical conveyor first performs nine upward movements.
After the tenth row of dough pieces has reached the front end 31a of the transverse conveyor, the drive motor 19a is started. As a result, the cam 37 moves in the direction of the arrow. This results in a lowering of the frame 34, so that the outer ends of the slats 2 bear on the support angles 4 of the vertical conveyor, as shown in FIG. 15. Simultaneously, the rotation of the control motor has the effect of introducing the frame 5 into the vertical conveyor, so that this frame comes to occupy the position shown in the freezes.
<Desc / Clms Page number 17>
15 and 16. Instead of performing the upstroke which should normally be delivered, the vertical conveyor 4 now moves in reverse, so that its supporting angles move downward. In this way, the rows of dough pieces are placed on the endless belts 7, as shown in fig. 16. The motor 19a continues to run, so that the frame 34 and the drive? return to their starting position shown in fig. 14.
In the absence of this arrangement, that is to say, if the transverse conveyor 31 was not capable of being raised and lowered, it would be necessary, after the tenth row of dough pieces would have reached the anterior end of the cross conveyor, first to raise the vertical conveyor, after which the endless conveyor belts * 7 of the frame 5 could be introduced into the vertical conveyor, after which the movement of the latter conveyor should be reversed, so that the rows of dough:!. can be placed on the endless conveyor belts 7. This mode of operation would therefore require an additional step, because the tenth row of dough pieces would first have to go up and then go down.
This is not the case in the device shown in the figures. 14 to 16.
The stacking and transporting device according to the invention has been described herein in the form in which it serves for discharge by means of a removal or transfer carriage. However, the stacking and transport device according to the invention can also be loaded with the aid of transfer trolleys, the arrangement then being such that the stacks of rows of dough pieces are placed in the device. stacking and transport and are fed from it in reverse order into the vertical conveyor.
Dana and case, the retainers should be placed so
<Desc / Clms Page number 18>
In such a way that, during the movements of the mobile frame, the rows of eyebolts are transferred successively to the vertical conveyor, instead of being removed from the latter, as mentioned above.
It is also within the scope of the present invention to give the stacking and transport device a particularly long length, with a view to its use for drying tunnel kilns employed in the ceramic industry, wherein the rows of moldings or dough pieces are also superimposed in ten or more stages, forming 20 or 30 stacks, or more, juxtaposed to each other, thereby passing through the drying oven.
