The 2,3-dimercaptoquinoxaline derivatives obtainable according to the instructions of the main patent are distinguished among others by good acaricidal properties.

In the above formula, R represents a substituent inert towards acid halides, n an integer from 0 to 4, Hal a chlorine or bromine atom, while X and Y represent an oxygen or sulfur atom and R 'a possibly substituted aliphatic, araliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic residue, as well as, when Y is a sulfur atom, a residue of formula:

in more detail using the following diagrams!
EMI3.1
In the above formulas E, R ', n, X, Y and Hal have the same meaning as above.
In order to capture the halogenated hydracid released during the course of the reaction, the reaction according to the 2-halo-3-mercapto-quinoxalines process is carried out with the acid halides, preferably in the presence of acid-fixing agents. This can be done by adding before or during the reaction an acid-fixing substance, such as for example an alkali or alkaline earth hydroxide or carbonate or a tertiary amine, or by using 2-halo-3-mercapto-quinoxalines. in the form of their salts.
The 2-halo-3-mercapto-quinoxalines required as raw materials for the process according to the invention can be obtained from the corresponding 2,3-dihalo-quinoxalines by selective exchange of a halogen atom for a group sulfhydryl.
The compounds which are obtained according to the present invention are superior as regards the aryloid activity both to the derivatives of 2,3-dimercapto-quinoxalines known from Belgian Patent No. 580,478 of 8.759 and French patent n.1,229,384 of 6.7.59, which have two thiol-carbonic acid residues with an open chain, and to the compounds described in
