amidosulfonique. On commence à teindre vers 50 C de préférence puis on finit la teinture à l'ébullition.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Focédé de dyeing Company known as: S A N D 0 Z SA.
-0-0-0-0- Swiss patent deinande of February 17, 1961 in its favor.
-o-o-o-o When dyeing mixtures composed of @@@ ne and "Creslan" trademark), it turns out that, depending on the dyeing conditions, the wool or part of Creslan is colored more pronounced. Until now, it has been practically impossible to obtain a homogeneous dye on such mixtures.
The present invention relates to a process for dyeing mixtures of wool and fibers of acrylonitrile-based copolymers, in particular mixtures of wool and fibers derived from a copolymer of acrylonitrile and of methyl methacrylate or of vinyl acetate with water soluble metal complex dyes. This process consists in carrying out the dyeing in the presence of a mixture of sulfuric acid and amidosulfonic acid as well as, where appropriate, a leveling agent.
The dyeing is preferably carried out on a mixture of wool and a copolymer of 85% acrylonitrile and 15% methyl methacrylate with 1: 1 metal complex dyes.
It is advantageous to fill the bath with a 7: 3 to 3: 7, preferably 1: 1, mixture of sulfuric acids and acid.

amidosulfonic acid. We start dyeing preferably around 50 C and then finish the dyeing at the boil. It is often advantageous to carry out the dyeing in the presence of a leveling agent.
If the dyeing is carried out in this way, a uniform dyeing of the mixed fabric is obtained; the wool part and the Creslan part have the same intensity. The 1: 1 metal complex dyes which can be employed are, for example, of the Neolane type and preferably "Lyogen SF" (registered trademark) is used as the leveling agent.
In the following examples, the parts and percentages are by weight and the temperatures in degrees centigrade.
Example 1 Are introduced to 50 100 parts of a mixture composed of 50 parts of wool and 50 parts of Creslan (registered trademark) in a bath mounted with 4000 parts of water, 1.6 parts of Jaune Vitrolane GR (registered trademark) , 5 parts of amidosulphonic acid, 5 parts of 96% sulfuric acid, 0.5 part of Lyogen SF (registered trademark) and 10 parts of sodium sulphate then the bath is brought to the boil. After 90 minutes at this temperature, the dyed material is removed from the bath, rinsed hot and then cold and dried. A solid yellow dye is obtained, endowed with good fastness to light and to wet. The wool part and the Creslan part are of the same intensity.
If we replace 1.6 parts of Jaune Vitrolane GR by 1.6 parts of Orange Vitrolane + G, 1.6 parts of Rouge Vitrolane (registered trademark)
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
GRE, 2.4 parts of Rouge Vitrolane + B or 1.6 parts of Bleu Vitrolane + 3R, we obtain plain dyes endowed with the same solidities.
Example 2 In 4000 parts of water, 0.52 part of yellow is dissolved
EMI3.1
Vitrolane + GR, 0.16 part of Vitrolane Red GRE, 0.12 part of Vitrolane Blue 3R, 5 parts of amidosulfonic acid, 5 parts of 96% sulfuric acid and 10 parts of sodium sulfate. At 50 °, 100 parts of a mixture of wool and Creslan are introduced into this bath, then the bath is heated to boiling for approximately 30 minutes and it is maintained for 90 minutes at this temperature. The process is completed as described in Example 1. A solid yellow-brown dye is obtained.
If we replace the mixture of the three dyes above by mixtures composed of 0.50 part of Vitrolane Yellow GR, 0.12 part of Vitrolane Red + GRE and 0.20 part of Vitrolane Blue + 3R or 0.36 part Vitrolane Yellow + GR, 0.32 part of Vitrolane Red GRE and 0.24 part of Vitrolane Blue + 3R or 0.16 part of Vitrolane Yellow GR, 0.08 part of Vitrolane Red + GRE and 0.20 part of Vitrolane Blue + 3R, we also obtain very solid plain dyes.
E x e m p 1 e 3 50 100 parts of a mixture of wool and Creslan are introduced into a bath composed of 4000 parts of water, 0.14 part (registered trademark)
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
of Vitrolane Yellow GR, 0.12 part of Vitrolane Red + GRE, 0.14 part of Vitrolane Blue + 3R, 5 parts of amidosulphonic acid, 5 parts of 96% sulfuric acid and 10 parts of sodium sulphate then one assembles to the boil. After 90 minutes at this temperature, the process is completed according to the method described in Example 1. An even dye is obtained, of a gray-brown shade and endowed with good fastness to light and to wet. The wool part and the Creslan part are dyed with the same intensity.
A dye made without amidosulfonic acid is uneven.
In this case, the wool part is much darker than the Creslan part.
If we replace the mixture of the three dyes indicated above by a mixture composed of 0.5 part of Orange Vitrolane G, 0.12 part of Rouge Vitrolane + GRE and 0.20 part of Bleu Vitrolane + 3R, we obtain a tincture solid, solid in the light and in the wet. (+ registered trademark)
