Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The present invention relates to packaging used for the preparation and transport of edible products, mainly those prepared in advance and made of plastic.
A double problem arises in making these packaging.
The first is that of transporting them empty in large quantities when they are sent to the places where they are to be used, in such a way as to occupy a minimum of volume.
The second is that of their use in such a way as to avoid that different edible products presented in the same packaging can mix with each other.
The object of the present invention is to solve these two problems and to provide a package which is easy to manufacture and to stack, in transparent plastic material so as to present the goods well.
For this purpose the packaging of any shape that is the subject of the invention is characterized in that it has hollow partitions on the inside forming separate compartments, these partitions as well as the packaging itself being of slightly flared shape to allow their stacking.
In the practical embodiment of the invention, the edge of the packaging is arranged so as to receive a sealed closure of any type allowing the packaging to be turned over on its lid for the presentation of the goods by transparency.
The height of the partitions extends to the level of the closing cover to prevent edible products from one compartment from infiltrating into neighboring compartments.
In order to make the invention fully understood, an exemplary embodiment will be given below in the case of a circular packaging of slightly tapered shape.
Fig. 1 shows a plan view of such a package.
Fig. 2 shows in elevation a stack of empty packaging.
Fig. 3 is a vertical section through the partitions of stacked packaging.
As shown in these figures, a transparent plastic packaging comprises a wall 1 which is slightly frustoconical and integral with this wall and with it cast partitions 2, of also slightly flared shape starting from the bottom 3 of the packaging and extending in height up to the level where a closing cover 4 of any type must be placed.
The partitions 2 in the case of the example chosen are arranged so as to form three compartments 5 which can receive different edible products. These, when the cover 4 is placed, cannot pass from one compartment to another, this cover resting on the end of the partitions and thus ensuring sufficient sealing.
Packages of this type, when empty, can be easily stacked for transport as shown in Figures 2 and 3 and thus occupy a minimum of volume.
The filling is carried out in the compartments 5, the packaging resting on the base 3 and, when the cover 4 is in place, the packaging is turned over for its display in the shop window so as to present the base 3 upwards, which allows the food products presented to customers to be seen clearly through the transparent material.
