<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

The object of the present invention is an improvement in distributors of fertilizers and other granular materials, comprising a reservoir for the material to be distributed and a spreading device, arranged under the reservoir. The goal of intention is the achievement of a
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Robustly constructed dispenser that evenly spreads the material in question over the entire working surface of the machine.
This object is achieved by the fact that the machine comprises a certain number of spreading chutes arranged, in general, radially under the tank in a balanced distribution around a vertical axis, and in which the chutes, substantially parallel to the transverse axis of the machine, are suitably longer than the chutes substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the assembly, so that a uniform distribution of the fertilizer over the entire surface of the machine spreading can be obtained.
The invention is described below, by way of nonlimiting example, with reference to the appended drawings, in which - FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a dispenser according to the invention, - FIG. 2 is a schematic plan view of the spreading device, - FIG. 3 a section made by line A-A of one of the chutes of FIG. 2, - fig. 4 is an exploded view of the feed means for supplying the material to the necks, and FIG. 5 is a sectional view showing the feed means, as well as part of the reservoir.
The dispenser shown in the accompanying drawings is, as shown in FIG. 1, formed on the basis of a two-wheeled trolley which comprises at the front in 1
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
an anchor receiving attachment, through which the machine can be secured to a tractor. On the frame 2 of the machine is disposed a reservoir 3, intended to contain the fertilizer or any other material to be spread. The reservoir has in the bottom an opening 4, shown in FIG. 5, in which are disposed the feed means for supplying the material to a number of uniformly spaced radially spaced spouting spouts 5 in a substantially horizontal plane.
The supply means shown in FIGS. and 5 comprise a vertical shaft 6 disposed axially in the opening and connected, rigidly, to the frame of the machine, and around which is arranged a fan wheel, 7 comprising fixed peripheral blades 8 which are placed opposite the inlets of the 9 spreading chutes 5, The hub 9 of the fan wheel has at its lower end a pulley 10 which, by means of a belt 11, is connected to a pulley 12 mounted on a shaft 13 at the front of the frame 2 near the attachment 1, said shaft being parallel to the direction of movement of the machine. This belt 11 passes' over idler pulleys 14, arranged under pulley 12.
The shaft 13 of the pulley 12 is connected to the power take-off of the tractor by means of a universal joint 15. Above the fan wheel 7 is arranged a conical feed plate 16 mounted in such a manner. rotating around shaft 6 by means of ball bearings 17. The conical feed plate is driven from 14 wheel

EMI4.1
ventilatn - - r via a mechanical speed reduction control.
This mechanical drive consists of a large ring with internal teeth 18 fixed under the lower part of the conical feed plate, and which engages with a toothed ring 19 having a lower number of teeth, the latter ring 19 being mounted so rotatably on a part 20 of the hub 9 of the fan wheel, said part 20 having its axis eccentric with respect to the axis of the shaft 6.
A disc 21 is fixed on the shaft 6 between the plate 16 and the toothed rings 18 and i9, and it comprises at least three fingers 22, carrying rollers 23, said fingers being housed in a ring concentric with the shaft. 6. These rollers protrude into holes 2- made in the ring 19, said holes having a diameter equal to the diameter of the roller, increased by twice the eccentricity of the part 20 of the fan wheel hub. The ratio of the speed of the fan wheel to the speed of the conical feed plate can be expressed by the quotient T / ST, where S is the number of teeth of the ring 18 and T the number of teeth of the l ring 19. If the difference in dimension between the two toothed rings is small, the ratio of the speed reduction device will be large.
The fertilizer distributor described above and shown in the accompanying drawings operates as follows.
Coming from the reservoir 3 filled with fertilizer, this flows down onto the feed plate 16 which is rotated from the power take-off
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
of the tractor with a relatively slow speed as described above.
The feed plate sends the fertilizer to the inlets of the spreading chutes through the small slot located between said tray and the upper edge of the spreading chutes. Thus, the fertilizer is seized by the powerful air current that the fan draws along the spreading chutes, and blown through the end openings of said chutes, so that the fertilizer is distributed evenly over the entire spreading surface of the machine. The chutes are of different lengths, as shown in fig 2, so that those which are substantially parallel to the transverse axis of the machine are longer and extend well beyond the main wheels 25 of the gear,
while those of these chutes which form a certain angle with respect to the transverse axis and the direction of movement of the machine are shorter, and those of these chutes which are substantially parallel to the direction of movement of the machine. gear are even shorter.
In order to obtain still a more uniform distribution of the fertilizer, the mouths of the spreading spouts can be equipped with a special device spreading, in addition, the fertilizer from said mouths. This device may consist of plates 26 mounted on these outlets and designed in such a way that they act as a deflector projecting the fertilizer towards the ground, as indicated in FIG. 3. These plates can also be provided with one or two deflectors.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
secondary "27 arranged under the plates 26 and which divide each jet of fertilizer into two beams of different directions, as shown in Fig. 2.
The amount of fertilizer spread can be controlled by a retaining device in the form of a circular slide 28, movable in the vertical direction, and mounted around the feed plate. The slide is supported by spokes or radial arms 29 attached to a sliding sleeve 30 located at the upper part of the shaft 6, said sleeve being closed at its upper part and resting on a rod 31 extending inside an axial bore of the shaft 6.
The lower end of the rod 31 is secured to a lever 33 articulated around a shaft 32. By adjusting the position of said lever, the slide 28 can be raised or lowered, thereby causing the passage to increase or decrease. free between the edge of the feed plate and the upper edge of the spreading spouts. As can be seen more precisely in FIG. 4, the lower edge of the slide can be profiled in the form of saw teeth and include two or more notches such as 34..situated to the right of the entry of each chute 5. Fig. 5 shows that the upper edge of the slider externally surrounds the base of the lower opening of the reservoir.
The invention is not necessarily limited to the provision of a fertilizer distributor as has just been described and shown in the accompanying drawings, but it can include all the variants thereof.
