<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

The present invention relates to pieces of clothing, in particular to sheaths and the like.
Garments of this type are known, the posterior part or part forming the back of which consists of two lateral bands of elastic material separated by a middle band of rectangular shape. This garment has the drawback of easily going up to its lower posterior part forming at this location beads which give

deny to the peesciiiie who wears this garment an unsightly appearance.
To remedy this drawback, rubber bands have been recommended to be fixed to the lower rear part of the sheath so as to hold the latter in place. However, this presents the drawback of having to replace these strips regularly.
The present invention relates to a body sheath which does not have these drawbacks.
According to the invention, the upper edge of the aforesaid posterior median band is smaller than the lower edge thereof.
In an advantageous embodiment, the lateral edges of the posterior median band are curved and have their concavities towards the outside.
According to another feature of the invention, the posterior lateral bands comprise at their lower part a part in the form of a quadrilateral the elasticity of which predominates in an oblique direction making with the lower edge of the titi an acute angle open towards the outer edge. of the part considered.

rear part of the sheath curves inwards so as to engage under the lower part of the buttocks when the piece of clothing is worn. Thus, the sheath is prevented from sliding upward and cannot form bulges.
Other features and details of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawings appended hereto, which schematically represent, and by way of example only, one embodiment of the sheath according to the invention.
- Figure 1 shows a sheath seen from the front.
- Figure 2 shows a sheath seen from the back. '
In these two figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.
The sheath- shown in the drawings comprises an anterior middle band 1, on the sides of which are fixed two anterior side bands 2 and 3. To these last bands are fixed along the side edges opposite to those. joining the median band, two posterior lateral bands 4 and 5 between which there is a posterior median band 6 forming the back.
The side bands 2, 3, 4 and 5 can be, for example, of elastic fabrics - in one or in two vertical and / or horizontal directions, but the extensibility is advantageously predominant in the horizontal direction.
The anterior and posterior midbands may be for aesthetic or other reasons of satin and may include an internal lining. These bands can also be made of a material elastic in one or two directions, but the extensibility is advantageous.

markedly predominant in the vertical direction.
According to the invention, the posterior median band
6 has an upper edge 7 which is smaller than its lower edge 8. In the embodiment shown, the lateral edges 9 and 10 of this middle strip are curved and the concavities are directed towards the outside of the middle strip. posterior.
According to a * utr feature of the invention, each of the posterior side bands 4 and 5 comprises at its lower part a quadrilateral-shaped part 11 and 12 respectively consisting of an elastic fabric in one or two directions, this part being arranged between the anterior side frame, the posterior middle band and the lower edge 13 of the maynière sheath so that the extensibility of.
this part is predominant in an oblique direction, with respect to the sheath and makes @ with the lower edge 'the latter an acute angle o (open @ towards the outer edge 14 respectively 15 of the part considered The device of parts 11 and 12 and the curved shape of the lateral edges 9 and 10 of the rear median band urging the lower edge 13 of the rear part of the sheath towards the inside of, the latter so as to engage under part lower buttocks when wearing the sheath. Thus, the sheath cannot slide upwards and does not form bulges.
The upper and lower edges 13 may be either tucked in or covered with an elastic tape straddled along this edge.
The different bands forming the sheath are fixed to each other on the inside of the sheath by means of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
20 stretch ribbons sewn on each of the two bands to be connected. One could also provide a lining on these ribbons so as to slide a reinforcement therein, for example ribs.
As seen in Figure 1, four $ 1 garters are sewn to tape 17.
The direction of the predominant elasticity in each strip constituting the sheath is shown schematically in the drawings by parallel lines 19.
In another embodiment, the side edges 9 and 10 are rectilinear.
It is obvious that not only a girdle, but also a corset or the like can be made in this way.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiment shown and that many modifications can be made in the form, the arrangement and the constitution of some of the elements involved in its realization, provided that these modifications do not conflict with the subject matter of each of the following claims.
