<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
support 11.

The present invention relates to a high efficiency oil vaporizing burner, which can be easily and quickly disassembled for cleaning, checking, etc. so that it can operate for a long time, with a minimum of downtime @. for cleaning,
The present invention aims to construct an oil vaporization burner such that the air required for combustion is introduced into the combustion chamber so as to obtain an intensive mixing of this air and the oil vapor.
Another object of the invention is to provide an easily removable oil burner so that when it is in operation,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the downtime required for cleaning can be minimized.
Thanks to the means proposed according to the invention, the burner can operate with an extraordinarily high efficiency which is maintained practically in continuous operation, given that the construction according to the invention requires only minimum stops for cleaning, etc.
Heretofore known oil vapor burners have a burn pot in the side wall of which a number of small air intake openings are provided. Such a burner can achieve a caloric output of 15,000 kcal / h maximum. This efficiency is limited by the fact that the air which enters through the intake openings made in the walls of the burn pot, forms with the oil vapors a substantially cylindrical ring of flames, inside which it does not. there is no combustion.
If higher caloric yields were desired, spray burners had to be used, in which the oil was finely divided by additional energy and burnt mixed with the required combustion air.
On the other hand, in known vaporization burners, the burn pot, generally consisting of a cylindrical sheet metal shell with a flat bottom, is provided with an upper flange fixed to the carcass of the heating device, for example to the Using screws or the like so that it was difficult and complicated to disassemble the burner for cleaning or to replace it with a grate on which it is desired to burn solid fuel. Further, in the known embodiments , it was difficult to obtain a tight seal between the burn pot and the heater, whereas precisely at the upper edge of the burn pot it is necessary as far as possible to avoid an air intake so as not to reduce burner efficiency.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
According to the present invention, the oil burner is improved by providing a central air inlet in the burn pot. By virtue of this central air intake, a mixture of oil and air values is obtained such as contrary to known embodiments. Combustion takes place in the internal part of the combustion chamber. . The present invention achieves caloric yields of up to about 100,000 cal / hr in a simple oil vapor burner.
According to a preferred embodiment of the oil vaporizing burner of the invention, the additional air intake is made up of a pipe fixed above an opening in the bottom of the burn pot and for which Additional air rises in the combustion chamber. It is particularly advantageous to mount above the end of the tubing a deflector plate so that the air rising in the tubing is deflected laterally by this plate. An excellent mixing of the oil vapors with the air arriving through the openings in the walls is thus obtained.
To avoid excessively long interruptions in the operation of the device described above, a means of ensuring easy disassembly is provided according to the invention. This means preferably consists in providing in the wall of the combustion pot a separation line passing between the upper and lower parts of the pot and through which a large quantity of combustion air can enter the pot. In such a burn pot, of normal dimensions, this separation line is located a little below the edge of the pot, from which it is, spaced by a distance corresponding substantially
1/4 the height of the burn pot.
In this way the upper and lower parts of the burn pot can be interconnected without
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
special seal. Thus, for example, it is possible to clamp the lower part of the burn pot against the upper part by means of a simple clamping device. It is also advantageous to make the upper edge of the upper part of the pot in the form of a solid ring, so that after removing the lower part of the pot, the upper part can receive a combustion grate. In addition, it is often advantageous that the part of this ring which is directed downwards is serrated, the spaces existing between these teeth then serving as inlet openings for the major part of the combustion air.
The lower part of the burn pot is then clamped against these teeth 'so as not to obstruct the free spaces existing between them.
The appended drawing shows by way of example an embodiment of the burner according to the invention, which will be described below.
Fig. 1 is a cross-section of the burner and there Fig. 2 schematically shows the air paths in this burner.
In fig. 1, the combustion pot 1 according to the invention is fixed to the frame 3 of the heating apparatus, by its upper part 2 formed of a cast iron ring. To this ring 2 is fixed a clamping device consisting of an elbow lever 4 articulated to a projection 5 of the ring 2. It is advantageous that this ring is solid so that it can possibly receive a grid, so that the stove or other device can then be heated with fuel: solid.
The lower edge of this ring 2 has teeth 6 between which air can enter the burn pot. A pipe 7 mounted at the lower end of the burn pot serves for the admission of combustion oil.
An air intake tube 9 is attached substantially to the center of the bottom 8 of the burn pot. Above the upper edge of this tube 9 a deflector plate 10 is mounted on a
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
support 11. There is further provided a pipe 12 in which can be accommodated a rod 13 à.poignée, the front end of which is lined with a wick 14. The pipe 12 is closed by a pivoting valve 15. A the using this wick rod, the oil can easily be ignited. The oil is admitted in a known manner, through the pipe 7, and is not shown in detail.
In fig. 2, it can be seen that the air required for combustion is admitted into the burn pot, partially through openings 16 and 17. Another part of the air required for combustion enters the tube from below. 9 and the plate 10 deflects this air in such a way that it mixes with the air entering through the openings 16 and 17, so that throughout the combustion chamber the flame is formed intensively and regularly.
