<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>

"Driving pile"
For the construction of foundations, piling piles are known in which a shoe is mounted at the lower end of the shaft of the pile and the area of the upper section of which is greater than that of the shaft. section of the hollow rod of the pile. During the driving of the pile, there is produced between the rod and the mass of earth pushed back by the sabota a hollow space which is loaded from above with a filling material, for example gravel or concrete, during the pile driving, to increase the friction between the pile and the mass of earth.
The object of the invention is to create a driving pile suitable for anchoring construction parts, which can also sink without difficulty into a building site strewn with
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
large stones or other large penetrating obstacles, and the outer casing and inner concrete infill of which can be carried out immediately after the piling in the ground to be built quickly, inexpensively and perfectly, using simple tools of concrete delivery.
The invention consists in that the hollow shoe ending in 'ooin downwards, carries at its upper end clearance openings and in that the concrete is forced under pressure into the pile from the top, in such a way that it comes out first of all through the release openings of the pile of the pile, penetrates from below into the hollow space produced during the driving of the pile all around its rod between the latter and the mass of compressed earth, and s' raises in this hollow space around the shank of the pile, in such a way that, as a result of the high pressure of the concrete, the mass of earth surrounding the hollow space is further compressed and the space hollow widens irregularly corresponding to the varying resistance of the layers of land crossed.
Thanks to the invention, this results in an extraordinary increase in the load capacity of the driven pile because the concrete casing produced in the building soil and firmly linked to the shaft of the pile rests on the ground. along its entire length.
The peripheral friction between the concrete envelope and the building soil, constituting essentially the load-bearing force and the tensile strength of the driven pile, is particularly high in a driven pile constructed in accordance with the in- vention, because on the one hand the irregular cross-section of the concrete casing increases considerably, its sliding surfaces in relation to the ground and on the other hand, because, thanks to the strong compression of the ground, it furthermore produces a high sliding resistance (adhesion slip) between the earth mass
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
and the concrete envelope.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, there are placed on the outside at intervals on the walls of the pile shank, wedge-shaped discharge cleats by means of which, when driving the shank of the pile. pile, the hollow space that forms around the rod is continuously evacuated from the masses of earth and stones entering it again.
In addition, the cleats produce cracks at various places on the outer wall of the cavity, which favors the irregular formation of a bead of the concrete shell and thus particularly increases the load-bearing capacity. of the stake.
Other characteristics of the invention result from the description based on the drawing, in which several exemplary embodiments of the object of the invention are shown.
As regards the exemplary embodiment shown in Figs. 1 to 7, FIG. 1 shows the driving pile surrounded by concrete up to its upper end; Fig. 2, a front view of the driving pile on an enlarged scale; Figure 3, a longitudinal section through the pile driver; Fig. 4, a plan view of the driving pile; - Fig. 5, a section along line A-B; Fig. 6, a section along line C-D and FIG. 7 a section along the line E-F of Fig.3.
Figs 8 and 9 show a second exemplary embodiment in vertical longitudinal section and in elevation.
From a third exemplary embodiment, FIG. 10 shows in longitudinal section the driving pile provided with a driving rod which is inserted therein; Fig. 11, a cut through the head of the stake following

16 through the upset concrete pile of the completed driving pile; Fig. 16, an elevational view of the driving pile and FIG. 17, a section through another embodiment of the threshing rod.
At the lower end of the hollow rod of the pile constructed of profiled steel, of Figs. 1 to 7, the length of which is chosen in a manner corresponding to the driving depth required in each particular case, and the cross section of which is measured according to the expected static stresses of the steel pile driving pile. the shoe ,,. of the pile 3 is welded along the axis to the rod of the pile 1 or is fixed thereto in some other way. The rod of the pile 1 may be made of several welded section steels or still consist only of a hollow steel profile.
In the shoe 3 of the pile is fixed (welded) the bit
2 in the axial plane of the rod 1 in such a way that its blunt upper end abuts against the rod 1 of the pile and that its sharp lower end freely passes downwards the shoe of the pile 3. Thanks to the shoe constructed of in this way, the stake is able, during the driving, to break large stones which it encounters.
The sahbot of the pile 3 is made either of flat steels or of steel sheets cut in a corresponding manner, welded together, as can be seen in Figs. 2, 3 and 7 of the drawing,
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
or again, it is made of a special steel casting when a large number of identical parts of steel driving piles are required for a foundation.
The shoe of the pile 3 is hollow and has a wedge shape such that at least two of its opposite side faces extend transversely on both sides of the section of the pile so that, between the rod 1 and the two side faces, several sections, of Q1 and Q2 free passage, sufficiently large exist for the evacuation of the driven concrete in the steel pile pile.
In the side faces, there is also preferably still the orifices X through which the driven concrete can also exit the shoe 3 of the pile from below.
The greatest width y of the pile shoe is chosen according to the foundation ground and the soil type of the different layers that must be traversed when driving the steel pile.
At the upper end of the rod 1 of the pile is welded the head of the steel pile 6, inside the rod.
It is drilled longitudinally along the axis of the rod 1 of the pile, so that, through it, the tube 5 for introducing the driven concrete can be introduced into the rod 1 of the pile.
In the hollow rod 1 of the pile are welded by inter, - valles intermediate pieces 4. These 4 are also drilled longitudinally along the axis of the -tige of the pile, for. that the tube 5 for introducing the driven concrete can also pass through them. Through the rod 1 of the pile and the intermediate pieces 4 are provided perpendicular or also obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the rod of the pile, the ports SZ1 and Z offset through which the upset concrete coming from the rod of the pile 1 can penetrate into the hollow space created during the driving of the pile by the discharge shoe 3 between the rod of the pile and the mass of earth - which surrounds it.
Near the top end is welded
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
externally all around the stem of pile 1, the sealing bead 9, the width and position of which below the upper edge of the pile, are also chosen according to the building site and the nature of the concrete layers to through which the steel pile is driven.
Through the pile head 6, the upset concrete introduction tube 5 penetrates deep down into the pile shank and can rotate therein about the two common longitudinal axes. At the upper end of the introduction tube 5 is welded the tube head 7, and between this and the head of the pile 6 is: provided the annular seal 8, The tube 5 for the introduction of the upset concrete is interchangeable, that is, it is not built specifically for each steel driving pile, but a single element is usually sufficient for many steel piles of the same length and same section. the mode of action and the aim of the present invention are now as follows:
First of all, the driving pile is driven into the building site after having removed the tube for introducing the upset concrete therefrom. When driving the pile into the foundation soil, the wider delivery shoe 3 compresses the mass of earth around the rod 1 in the foundation soil and creates the soil around the steel piling pile or its rod, a space or them more or less large.
This generally has a section tapering upwards, and tests have also shown that a shoe of pile 3 having only two sides in the shape of a wedge, as shown in Figure drawing, digs a space of approximately equal width all around the shank of the pile, although theoretically a hollow space could only occur on the width faces of the wedge-shaped shoe, by pushing back the mass
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
earthen. It is therefore sufficient in most cases, that the dwarf of pile 3 has the shape of a wedge only on two sides, and not on all four sides.
Shortly before the end of the driving operation, during the last driving-in of the steel driving pile, the sealing bead 9 provided at the upper end of the pile, also acts. Pushes the mass in front of it on a small path. of earth coming out of the upper edge of the hole of the pile during the driving and compresses it so that a plug of earth mass is formed at the top of the hole which obstructs the space dug upwards around the hole. rod 1 of the pile, during driving.
After the steel pile has been driven, the delivery tube for the upset concrete 5 is introduced through the head of the pile 6 in the rod 1 and it is supported by its pipe 7 against the head of the pile 6 by inserting a ring serving 8. For this purpose, a simple tensioning device of a known type is used, comprising retaining tabs which can pivot outwards which penetrate into the two holes 11 of the pile head 6.
By means of known concreting tools, then concrete is driven through the feed pipe 5 into the steel driving pile, first of all only at the lower part of the pile. The concrete thus fills the lower part of the., Rod 'of the pile 1 and the shoe 3 and comes out of this through the discharge sections Q1 and Q as well as through x the orifices / to penetrate! In the mass of earth which surround it.
It thus forms the foot bead shown in the drawing of, FIG. 1 all around the shoe and the lower part of the rod, and then also rises with increased resistance in the hollow space formed around the rod 1 of the pile. By the increase in pressure which occurs, the concrete feed tube rotates about 60 in the pile shank, so that the holes Zi existing at the lower part of the shank and serving at the exit of the concrete in the mass of earth, are released.
If then the discharge pressure increases again, the supply tube 5 turns further by a certain angle. Concrete
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
then exits through the holes Z of the pile rod and rises in the hollow space which surrounds the latter until the sealing bead 9. The concrete feed tube 5 is then withdrawn slowly from the head of the pile 6 at a low concrete introduction pressure; and the steel driving pile is then also filled with concrete inside. The steel driving pile is now surrounded by concrete both on the outside and inside, so that corrosion of the steel is excluded.
± laws, at the same time, the concrete envelope formed around the driving pile considerably increases the bearing force of the pile as a result of the notable increase in its cross section and the intense peripheral friction thus obtained between the envelope concrete and mass of earth.
The gradual filling of the hollow space around the rod of pile 1 by the concrete forced through the openings Z1 and Z2 or by additional openings, must not only ensure that the rod of the pile 1 is completely surrounded by concrete, but also promote the formation of beads on the concrete shell, thanks to which the load-bearing force of the steel driving pile can again be significantly increased.
A single concrete feed tube 5. is sufficient for the driving of many piles, @ of the same dimensions, It is not a constituent part of the steel driving pile, but only serves for the distribution by progressive discharge of the concrete in the pile pile driver and: around it.
By driving 'steel driving piles of the kind of construction here described in very dense tenacious, sticky soles such as loam, clay, and the like, to promote the uniform formation of a free space around of the rod of the pile 1 (by means of the shoe 3), one welds or one fixes in another way other small pushing shoes ;;, in the form of wedges, on the faces

narrow of the stake shoe 3.
In the exemplary embodiment of Figs. 8 and 9, are mounted on the outside of the walls of the pile shank, at intervals, wedge-shaped discharge tabs 12.
Case cleats are arranged in the example shown, at the places where transverse orifices of the rod of the pile are provided. Cleats are 'angular in shape' so as to cover the transverse openings in the manner of a roof. They prevent the penetration of the mass of earth into the hollow space of the pile Mondays that the concrete driven back by: The tube 9 can exit by the cleats open on the side.
At the upper part of the rod 1 of the pile is arranged an adjustable and removable sealing member 14 ′.
The seal member 14 is made up of two halves and carries a collar-shaped protrusion 15 clamped to the stake shank by the connecting screws which join the two halves of the seal member. ''
The pile rod of the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 10 to 16 consists of four steel angles 1 connected together by intermediate pieces 24.
The upper intermediate piece at the upper end of the pile shank is notably longer than the others, so that, at the upper intermediate piece, a sealing member, for example that described previously with regard to Figs. 8 and 9, can be mounted as an undivided sealing member in the longitudinal direction. A. The upper end of the uppermost intermediate piece 24 is welded to a reinforcing ring 6 forming the pile head.
In the intermediate piece the lower read, which penetrates into the shoe is welded, a compression piece 17 on which, during the driving of the pile, rests a hollow driving rod 18 introduced into the rod of the pile. 'On these are applied, again at intervals, one above the

aut-es, evacuation cleats 12 in the form of wedges, offset relative to each other. On the wedge-shaped plates of the shoe of the pile are mounted evacuation cleats'13 which prevent the penetration of the earth mass words lateral concrete exit holes.
This hollow shoe 3 is covered above by two steel pieces in the form of angles 20 so that, during threshing, no earth from above in the shoe -dU pi eu.
While the pile is being driven, the 'pile driver' strikes the pile driver 18 which protrudes above the pile head 6 and transmits the driving force through the compression piece 17 to the bit 2 and shoe 3. 'The pile rod consisting of four steel angle rods 1 and intermediate pieces 24, is therefore not subjected to compressive forces during driving, but is pulled down-into the ground to be built through- the shoe of the stake in the hollow space released by it in the mass of earth, and is therefore only subjected to traction.
After the pile has been driven, concrete is driven back through the hollow driving rod 18 under high pressure, first into the hollow shoe and then, gradually withdrawing the driving rod 18 from the pile rod, into the latter and in the hollow space produced outside of it in the earth-mass.
Instead of the intermediate ring-shaped pieces 24 mounted at intervals on the pile shank, it is also possible to choose a spiral reinforcement of round, flat or ribbon steel, running the entire length of the pile shank; it is then electrically welded or connected in another way to the profiled or round steel rods forming the rod of the pile,
It is also possible to attach to the upper end of the beating rod 18 protruding from the pile head, a tensioning device by means of which the rod of the pile consisting of light round steel bars can be stretched by traction or be tensioned.

in advance.
It is then also possible to use round steels or steel wires in the construction of the driving pile rod. thin, that is to say obtaining a kind of prestressed concrete in the driving pile. filled with concrete. '
The beating rod to be introduced into the pile rod can also consist of a solid profile, for example a flange holder arranged in width, shown in FIG. 17. To such a full profile driving rod, one or more concrete feed pipes 26 can be connected over its entire length through which the concrete is introduced under pressure into the mutt and into the pile rod.
