The present invention relates to the new industrial product which constitutes a clamp characterized by the fact that it comprises, mounted on a suitable guide rod, a sliding jaw cooperating with a pivoting jaw controlled by means of a lever. with cam and provided with two heads oriented in the opposite direction to each other, allowing the use of the clamp, either to operate the temporary clamping of any parts, or to cause! the separation of these parts by inserting said jaws between them, after having previously turned the one slidably mounted on the guide rod; the bringing together and the separation of said jaws being achieved by the simple operation of the aforementioned cam lever.
To better understand the subject of the invention, we will now describe, by way of illustration and without any limiting nature, an embodiment, taken as an example and shown in the accompanying drawing.
In this drawing: Figure 1 is an elevational view of this embodiment; FIG. 2 shows it with its jaws in the clamping position; FIG. 3 represents the device with its jaws arranged so as to work at the separation.
As can be seen, the clamp according to the invention comprises a guide rod 1, of rectangular section: or other, and of variable length according to the thicknesses to be tightened and according to the desired spacing stroke.
At one of its ends, the rod; 1 is provided with an ohape 2 formed by two gussets between which is pivotally mounted on an axis 3, a jaw 4 provided with two heads 5 and 6, (one at each of its ends ) oriented in opposite directions to each other On the end of the yoke 2, is mounted on a pivot pin 7, a lever 8 having, at its end, a cam 9 cooperating with the underside of the end of the pivoting jaw 4 which carries the head 6.
A jaw 10, provided (with a head 11 similar to the head 5, is slidably mounted on the rod 1 which comprises, at its free end, an orifice 12 intended to receive a removable stopper (not shown) against which said movable jaw abuts at the end of the stroke.

The device thus organized allows the clamping of any parts. These parts, for example profiles 13, which the year wishes to assemble by welding or otherwise, are placed in the manner indicated in Figure 2 between the heads or jaws 5 and 11, taking care when adjusting the clamp. choire 10, to leave, by acting by hand on the jaw 4, a sufficient play between the cam 9 and the corresponding face of the end of this jaw, in order to avoid too much tightening liable to deform the device.
By then acting on the lever 8 in the direction indicated by the arrow F1, the cam 9 rests on the end of the lever 4, rotates this lever on its axis 3 and causes the desired clamping of the parts between the heads 5 and 11 (arrows F), the two jaws 4 and 10 remaining blocked when the lever 8 is in its vertical position.
The parts 13 are released by pulling the lever 8 in the direction opposite to that of the arrow F.
When you want to use the device to ensure the separation

of two parts or of two surfaces such as for example formwork or shoring 14 (figure 3), it suffices to return the movable jaw 10 on the guide rod 1 and to apply the heads 6 and 11 between the parts 14 with or without the interposition of support pieces 13a, then act on the lever 8 in the manner explained above with reference to FIG. 2. The jaws 4 and 10 then act on the parts 14 in the direction indicated by the arrows F2.
It is understood that the embodiment described above is in no way limiting and may be subject to any desirable modifications without thereby departing from the scope of the invention.
It is thus, for example, that it will be possible, by fixing to the jaw 10 a suitable frame comprising means for its fixing to a workbench, to produce an instantaneous clamping vice.
It will also be noted that the jaws 5 ′ 6 and 11 of the jaws can be articulated so as to lend themselves to rigorously parallel clamping.
