BOUCHON-VERSEUR.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

DISCHARGE CAP.
The present invention relates to a pouring stopper intended to allow the flow of a bottle in a uniform and continuous jet.
In general, various pouring stoppers have already been recommended from the simple tube reducing the diameter of the neck to embodiments comprising the drip tray and the shut-off valve produced in the most complex shapes.
However, practice shows that these various embodiments are not easy to use because the discharge of the liquid from the bottle takes place in an irregular manner, that is to say that the flow rate is variable and that of even the power of the jet and its direction are subject to variation.
The present invention has to obviate these drawbacks and resides essentially in that the pouring stopper comprises a compensation chamber placed in the extension of the neck of the container and in communication with the latter, the compensation chamber comprising first a pouring spout for the flow of the liquid, then an air inlet arranged so that the atmospheric pressure is above the mass of the liquid contained in the said chamber, so as to obtain a continuous flow through the pouring spout , while the level in the compensation chamber tends to be kept constant for the same inclination of the axis of the container, by:
the contributions of the contents of the latter, means being provided for fixing with a removable strap the compensation chamber on the neck of the container.
In the accompanying drawing are shown, by way of example, two embodiments of the present invention.
Fig 1 shows in perspective a pourer according to the invention, in elevation.
Fig. 2 gives a section along I-I of FIG. 1.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 3 shows in elevation a variant, the pourer functioning as a ooisseau valve for the flow adjustment.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view along II-II of the, FIG. 3.
. Figs 5, 6 show variant embodiments *
According to the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2, the pourer essentially consists of a compensation chamber 1 having an opening 2 at its base. This chamber is preferably made of a plastic material to which is fixed, concentrically to the opening 2, a ring 3 of rubber or other material having a certain elasticity.
A duct 4 or spout 4 and an air inlet tube 5 open into the compensation chamber. The air inlet tube is arranged so as to penetrate into the bottom of the compensation chamber, so that when the pourer is tilted the atmospheric pressure acts above the liquid contained in said chamber.
A ball 6 is provided in the compensation chamber 1 which cooperates with a seat 7, provided in the ring 3, so that, in the rest position of the pourer, the wing comes to close the seat 7 and cause the closure of the bottle.
The placement of the pourer on the Douteille is very easy, since it suffices to slide the ring 3 elastically over the neck of the bottle to thus fix the pourer above the neck.
In order to pour part of the liquid contained in the bottle, the latter is arranged in an oblique position, which causes the release of the bill and the filling of the compensation chamber.
The pouring spout 4 being placed downwards, the compensation chamber will empty through said spout in a continuous and regular manner, since the weight of the air layer will act above the liquid contained in the chamber. Compensation During this time, a flow will take place from the bottle to the compensation chamber so that the flow through the spout will remain, until the bottle is empty, absolutely constant.
The spout forms an obtuse angle with the axis of the spout, and approximately 120. Thus, for the normal position given to the bottle, the pouring spout will have its axis vertically, it is therefore possible to direct the jet towards a very small orifice without running the risk of spilling the liquid outside this filling orifice.
Thus, according to the invention, the first force jet caused during the tilting of the bottle is avoided while giving the material time to place said spout above the orifice of the desired container; in fact, the clearing house must first be filled before the flow is caused.
In addition, by making a larger passage from the bottle to the compensation chamber than that of the pourer, the flow rate remains constant until all liquid from the bottle has flowed out.
In figs 3 and 4, an alternative embodiment is shown according to which the compensation chamber 1 ', of cylindrical shape, fixed to the ring 3', is provided with two openings 8-8 '. Externally and concentrically to the chamber 1 'can turn a ring 9 also provided with two openings 10-10', the opening 10 'being extended by a spout 4'.
It will be understood that it suffices to bring the openings 8-10 and 8'-10 'in correspondence to allow, when the bottle is tilted, to drain the compensation chamber which will be continuously supplied by the gou' batch of the bottle.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In fig. 5 is shown an alternative embodiment according to which the compensation chamber 1 is circular and with a horizontal axis, thus showing that this chamber can have any shape.
On the spout 42 is mounted a valve tilting under its own weight, while in the spout is arranged a duct 52, one end of which is flush with the spout, while the other end approximately reaches the opposite wall of the chamber. compensation, so only one exterior opening is provided.
In this embodiment, it is therefore easy to keep the air inlet free. The obturation can be completed by a ball as shown in fig. 2.
The volume of the clearing house depends on the desired flow rate.
According to the embodiment of FIG. 6, the compensation chamber 1 is traversed by a tube 11, rotating about its axis and comprising two openings, one for flow 12 and the other for air inlet 13; these openings are closed by curved seats 14 and 15, during a 1800 rotation of the tuoe 11.
The invention has been described and illustrated purely as an indication and in no way limiting, and it goes without saying that numerous modifications can be made to its details without departing from its spirit.
