<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

CONTROL OF THREAD GUIDE FOR TWIST-LOOK SPOOLS.
The present invention relates to a thread guide control for spools; twisting looms, in which the thread guide is driven by an eccentric, so that a pivoting movement is imparted to the thread guide in a plane. Various control devices are already known designed to make the stroke of the yarn guide variable. The same result is obtained according to the invention due to the fact that the pivoting support of the pivoting lever carrying the yarn guide can slide in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the winding spool and that there are provided controls which produce an austomatic displacement of the pivot bracket as a function of the diameter of the winding spool.
One of the ends of the pivoting lever is preferably guided on the slide of the constant-stroke eccentric and the other end of the lever is imperatively guided in a straight line using a slide, the pivoting support arranged between these two ends being constituted by a slide allowing the imperative movement of the pivoting lever during the pivoting movement.
Embodiments of the object of the invention are shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a plan of the schematically shown wire guide drive.
Fig. 2 is a corresponding schematic side elevation.

Figs. 4 and 5 show order details.
The thread guide drive has a shaft 1 carrying an excen-

cudgel. The latter is formed by a drum 2 having on its surface a slide 3 forming a closed spiral. This slide 3 is advantageously formed in the form of a gutter, the bottom surface of which or a transverse plane perpendicular to the axis has a pitch. A roller 4, supported so as to be able to rotate on an axis 8, is guided in this gutter; this axis 8 is held by a slide 5 and is provided with a roller 9, also supported so as to be able to rotate, at its other end.
The slide 5 is supported so as to be able to slide laterally on an axis 6 and a guide bar 7, then the roller 9 is guided in a longitudinal slot 11 of a pivoting lever 10. This lever 10 has, more or less in its middle-, another slot 12, through which passes a support roller 13 of a slider 14. This slider 14 is guided so as to be able to slide between certain limits on fixed bars 15, 16 and it is connected at its other end by an axis 17 with a lever 38, which passes through a longitudinal slot 39 of the lever 38. This lever 38 is in the form of a rocker and is supported so as to be able to pivot on an axis 37.
The end of the balance 38 opposite the slot 39 carries a lug 36, guided in a control slot 35 of an operating lever 31. The latter is fixed rigidly, but interchangeably with 1-'aide screw 32, to an arm 28 of an angled lever 27, 28 supported so as to be able to tilt on an axis 30 and carrying at its other end a winding spool 25 which can rotate on an axis 26. This spool is pressed under Inaction d 'a spring 29 against a delivery cylinder 24 driven by a shaft 23. The control lever 31 has a slot 33, the curve of which is an arc of a circle described around the axis 30.
This lever 31 can be moved by means of this slot 33 relative to the arm 28 of the angled lever 27, 28 and it is fixed by the bracket 34. The slide 35 of the eccentric control lever 31 is advantageously established in such a way. that it forms at its end a part in an arc of a circle 48 (FIG. 4) described around the axis 30.
Greater pivoting of the spool holder 27 is thus made possible to remove the full spool, so that the spool holder 27 can be tilted more to remove the full spool than this full spool would allow if the lever 38 could not. not be tilted further The eccentric control lever 31 also has a nose 49, driving back a spring 50 disposed on the lever 38 when the lever 31 is completely tilted and thereby fixing the eccentric control lever 31, as well as the arms 27, 28 of the angled lever and the spool 25 in the tilted position.
The pivoting lever 10 carries, on its side opposite to the slot 11, an axis 18 on which a slide 19 is supported so as to be able to turn and which is guided so as to slide on an axis 20 by means of a bar 21. Slider 19 carries yarn guide 22, which extends against cylinder 24 and spool 25.
The device described operates as follows:
During the rotation of the eccentric sliding drum 2, the slide 5 oscillates between the points 40 and 41. The pivoting lever 10 then turns around the support roller 13, so that the thread guide 22 describes a constant path, corresponding to the travel of the slide.
When the winding reel 25 is empty on the right in fig. 2), the slide 14, carrying the roller 13, is in its extreme upper position, which corresponds to the position 42 of the roller 13 (fig. 1), which produces the stroke represented by the points 43 and 44 for the slider 19 carrying the thread guide 22. The material passing over the winding spool causes the angled lever 27, 28 to rotate around the axis 30 and thus also rotates the eccentric lever with it. control 31, which for its part swings the lever 38 by the slide 35 and the lug 36, so that the pivot 13 is moved downward on the slide 14, together with the latter, which makes it pass gradually to position 45 (fig. 1).
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
This results in a correspondingly shortened stroke for the thread guide 22 which is limited by points 46 and 47. In this way, a cylindrical spool with tapered ends is formed. The shape and inclination of the taper of the ends of the coil depends on the slider 35 of the operating eccentric lever 31. For example, the slider 3 (Fig. 2) produces a coil shape with tapered ends. , as shown in FIG. 1, and the slide 35 (fig. 4) produces tapered coil ends domed outwardly as shown in fig. 3.
If you want to produce spools with straight ends, you can either use a slide similar to slide 35, or loosen the nut 34 so that the angled lever 27,28 can pivot without acting on the lever. control eccentric 31.
Several sets of thread guides can be combined with each eccentric. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, two groups are combined with the eccentric, connecting rods 51 (FIG. 5) being provided to interconnect the various pins 8, one of which is in direct operating connection with the drum 2.
As particular advantages of the device described, it is pointed out that
1 The thread guide is parallel to the axis of rotation of the spool.
2 The coils are controlled individually despite the use of a common actuator.
3 The shape of the coils can be changed using different slides.
4 Several different coils can be formed simultaneously, for example with threads of different thicknesses, etc.
