 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  'OSCILLATING SCREEN WITH-ONE OR ELUSIEGRS-REMOVABLE FRAMES.

   The present invention relates to an oscillating screen with one or more removable frames, which are provided with gaskets which cannot be put under tension, such as perforated sheets, screens or the like. Such gaskets should be secured in such a way as to avoid fluttering during the oscillating movement of the screen, otherwise the gaskets will easily break.

   In known sieves of this type, the sieve sheets are fixed to their support frame by means of screws or rivets, the spacing of which must not exceed a determined minimum value, to ensure a durable bearing of the edges of the sieve plates also during the oscillating movement of the sieve. This method of fixing is however disadvantageous in that, in the case of replacement of the linings, for example due to wear or for the fitting of linings for other grain sizes, a large number of fasteners, which requires an extraordinarily long time and sometimes also results in damage to parts of the screen.

   Removable sieve frames are also already known to which the sieve linings are attached already before they are mounted, in order to allow faster replacement. The determination of the dimensions of the sieve frames depends here on the width of the sieve boxes in which they are mounted, the forces to which they are subjected under the action of the material to be sieved, and the number of oscillations of the sieve. .

   In order to avoid harmful own oscillations of the screen frames, one is forced to construct them more strongly than would be otherwise necessary; therefore become heavy and unwieldy o Lighter profiles can also be used for the sieve frames; is however forced then., depending on the width of the sieve box, to mount a large name.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 bre of sieve frames, which significantly increases the price of the device.

   The object of the present invention is to obtain a removable screen frame in which the aforementioned drawbacks are avoided, This is achieved essentially by the fact that the screen frame is rigidly fixed to the side walls of the screen box by means of corners and is placed in crossbars, connecting the side walls together with the interposition of elastic members which, during assembly of the screen frame, putting it under tension. These resilient members consist of wedges of leather, rubber or the like, on which the screen frame is slightly bent upwards.

   The wedges can also be pressed strongly by the screen frame against the side faces of the sleepers.
The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the object of the invention.

   Fig. 1 shows a sectional view of a sieve frame, provided with a perforated sheet, before it is placed between two cross members connecting the side walls of the sieve box to each other.
Fig 2 shows in section the screen frame in place and fixed by wedges; Figs 3 shows a section along line A-B on fig 2; and fig 4 is a plan view of the screen frame. The screen lining 1 is rigidly connected to a light frame 2, for example by screws rivets or also by welding.

   Between the side walls 3 of a sieve box rest, on longitudinal angles 4, cross members 5, which are also rigidly connected to the angles and are of a shape and dimensions such that they can withstand the forces. acting on the sieve. In the middle of the sieve box are arranged, between the sieve frame 2 and the cross members 5, in one or more places, elastic wedges 6, made of rubber, leather or the like, the thickness of which is chosen in such a way. that after the installation and fixing of the screen frame 2 on the angles 4, the screen frame is under tension and rests strongly on the wedges. This avoids floating of the screen frame relative to the cross members during the oscillating movement of the screen.

   The screen frame is fixed to the longitudinal walls of the screen box by means of a longitudinal bar 7 and wedges 8, which rest against angles 9.

   In order to rigidly fix the screen frame also in the longitudinal direction of the screen box, the wedges 6 are given such a length that they protrude on both sides beyond the cross member 5 (fig. 1) and that ' their ends are bent during the positioning of the screen frame and are pressed by it under high pressure against the side faces of the cross-member (see Figs 1 and 2).
