PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR THE DRYING 9 THE-CONCENTRATION AND 'THE
VACUUM DISTILLATION OF ALL KINDS OF PRODUCTS.
The present invention relates to a process and a device for drying, concentrating and vacuum distillation, capable of receiving many and varied applications, such as, for example, the drying of soaps, the concentration of solutions. and the distillation of products which must undergo this operation.
The process essentially consists in treating the previously heated mass in a vessel in which a high degree of vacuum is maintained so as to cause the violent separation of the water or other volatile products contained in the aforesaid mass.
The accompanying drawings, given by way of example only, represent schematically an embodiment of the device for carrying out the method.
Figa 1 is a diagram of the installation.
Fig. 2 is a section of the drying device along A-A of FIG. l.
It is known that the drying of soaps constitutes the fundamental and most difficult problem which the producer has to solve since on this problem depends the quality and the quantity of the soap produced.
Indeed, if the drying is not rational there are great drawbacks, such as oxidation and the soap then becomes dark. In addition, the quality also depends on the drying since the drying of the soaps is done fairly slowly, and the temperature of the drying air cannot be increased at will, otherwise the disadvantages indicated above will increase.
The system according to the present invention performs the drying of the soap in depression, there without needing to carry the vacuum in the apparatuses.

drying, to a degree exceeding that which can be obtained advantageously in an industrial manner and this by virtue of a heating to which the soap paste is subjected before being introduced into the drying apparatus, in which said paste made extremely fluid by the temperature, passes rapidly through rotating nozzles arranged inside the drying apparatus, in which a vacuum has been made.
In the attached drawing, 1 designates the saponification boiler from which the soap passes into the filter box 2, where it is sucked by the electric pump 3 which, through a suitable pipe, sends it to a preheater 7, in in which the soap reaches a temperature which can also be higher than 100 ° C. and from where, through another pipe, it is sent to the drying and cooling apparatus 4, the rotating shaft of which carries a plurality of jets in branch P, from where the soap in the form of very fine powder produced by the violent evaporation of the water contained in the paste is thrown against the wall of the drying apparatus 4, the temperature of which can be variable according to the needs ,
thanks to the circulation of hot fluid in the interior of the special jacket 8. From said wall of the drying apparatus 4, the soap in the form of a very thin veil is detached by means of scrapers R, mounted inside the containers 4 and rotating with the nozzles P.
As shown in the drawing, the device is completed by a barometric column 5 and by a pump 6, while the dried soap and in powder form already dried to the desired degree is discharged from the bottom of the container 4 and sent to the following treatments .
From the above description one understands the great advantages which can be obtained with the system according to the present, the last of which is certainly not the reduced bulk of the installation of the soap drying apparatus, installation which, with the systems used up to now, requires on the contrary an important space and manpower.
In addition, by the system according to the present invention an almost instantaneous drying, abrupt cooling of the soap due to the evaporation of the water contained in the soap itself, and consequently the temperature inside the container 4, is obtained. is maintained at about 30 ° C., while at the same time deodorization of the products and very little crystallization of the soap are obtained, which thus takes on a pearly appearance.
The danger of oxidation is thus eliminated since the temperature drops abruptly, as has been said above and in addition, the calories possessed by the molten soap, coming from the boiler 1, are almost completely used. since a good part of these calories is absorbed by the evaporation of the water contained in the paste, this evaporation being favorable to the spraying of the soap itself.
The device of the type described and shown makes it possible to achieve, in addition to the advantages described above, the concentration or vacuum distillation of other products. In particular, in the case of a concentrator, it may be single or multiple effect. In this last case; it suffices to arrange in series between them a plurality of receptacles similar to those indicated in FIG. 1, in each of which the concentrated product leaving the preceding receptacle will be introduced into the following receptacle. Furthermore, in concentrators of this kind the operation is continuous since it is not necessary to provide for interruptions as were necessary in the concentrators employed heretofore in order to carry out the cleaning of the reheating coils and similar.
In the case where the aforesaid device operates as a still, it is necessary to insert at the outlet of the drying apparatus 4 a condensing apparatus.
It is obvious that the particular characteristics of each of the devices constituting the installation, its dimensions, the temperatures of the products to be treated and the degree of vacuum, may vary according to the needs.

tees without departing from the scope of the present invention.
According to an improvement of the method and device described above, it is possible to directly produce toilet, laundry and household soaps by variants which complete the system described above.
Fig 3 of the drawing schematically shows an embodiment of the improved process.
This FIG. 3 shows in longitudinal section a device for the final treatment of the soap transformed first into small cylinders then into a continuous bar.
Referring to said Figure 3, the soap, initially obtained. naked in the form of a powder already dried to the desired degree, is pushed outside the device by a propeller 11 at the end of which is placed a plate 12 provided with holes through which the soap comes out coiled in the form of small cylinders .-- These, being intended for toilet soaps, are subjected to a new treatment.
In fact, the small coiled cylinders, obtained as it has just been said, fall by gravity, as soon as they leave the perforated plate 12, into a container 14, 'placed below and inside which they are continuously watered. by spraying perfume from a series of nozzles 15, so as to obtain perfumed soap by spraying.
The small cylinders thus perfumed emerging from the perfume container can be further cut. into thin discs by another rotary knife 13; after which said discs are fed to a chamber 16 in which a second propeller 17 operates and which compresses the disc into paste and pushes it out of the device through a conical head 18 having an outlet mouth of size and shape. desired, so that one obtains directly and continuously soap in the form of a bar, capable of being immediately cut into pieces having the desired dimensions.
This variant of the main system is particularly advantageous for obtaining laundry and household soaps, taking into account the fact that said soaps are obtained directly, quickly and continuously without the aid of other machines. or devices.
A second variant of the process of the main patent could be the following beyond the perfume spray chamber, instead of the second propeller 13 'and the conical head 18, one could provide a normal extruder or preferably a two-helix type extruder.
CLAIMS.
