PERFEG TIONNEMENTS AûX: SUSFENS IONS A RfUES s INDEPENDANTES TPOUR VOITURES D'ENFANTS ET PETITS 'VEHICULES ANALOGUES.

ALSO ADVANCED: SUSFENS IONS WITH INDEPENDENT REFUSES FOR CHILDREN'S CARS AND SIMILAR VEHICLES.
The present invention relates to the suspension of children's cars and similar small vehicles. It relates to a suspension with independent wheels which is designed so that each wheel has its individual suspension mechanism, and more particularly that the assembly formed by the wheel and its suspension mechanism is easily removable to allow its removal by the user, without the use of tools, in order to reduce the size of the baby carriage in order to transport or store it, for example o
According to the invention, each wheel is mounted on an oscillating arm around an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel and is biased towards the ground by a coil spring or other equivalent elastic member, connecting an extension of the swing arm,
located on one side of the axis of oscillation = lation of the arm ;, at a point fixed with respect to this axis and located on the other side of the latter. This results in an individual suspension mechanism for the wheel that is very compact as well as efficient. Preferably, the spring or other elastic member works in a cylinder which protects it from mud and bad weather o The fixed point can be provided on the chassis or the body of the car, but preferably on an independent part.
The arrangement of the fixed point on a part independent of the frame and the body of the car makes it easy to make the assembly of the wheel and its suspension mechanism easily removable, which can therefore be mounted on this part. independent,
itself provided with a fastening device for its removable attachment to the chassis or to the body of the car. The fastening device must be such as to prevent any movement of the independent part carrying the suspension mechanism, relative to the frame or to the body when it is attached. It most advantageously comprises a strong spindle coaxial with the axis of oscillation of the wheel-carrying arm, which engages in a clamping sleeve of the frame or of the body, and two pins arranged on either side of the spindle and engaging in holes on either side of the clamping sleeve to prevent any rotation of the spindle in

the socket.
A simple wing screw, easy to tighten and loosen without or tils, is enough to retain the pin in the socket, @
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows in perspective a wheel and its individual suspension mechanism as well as part of a frame member of a baby carriage or similar small vehicle, and
Fig. 2 shows, also in perspective, a variant of the suspension mechanism.
In Fig. 1, the wheel 1 is carried by the oscillating arm 2, the ball-bearing pivot 3 of which is fixed to a horn-shaped part '4, independent of the spar 5 of the baby carriage.
Between the upper end 6 of the part 4, constituting the fixed point relative to the pivot 3, and the upper end 7 of an extension 2 'of the oscillating arm 2 which is located on the other side of the pivot 3 , is arranged a coil spring 8 which urges the wheel 1 towards the ground by working in compression in a cylinder 9, articulated at 7 to the extension 2 ', against a piston 10 articulated at 6 to part 4.
From the inside of the part 4 extends a pin 11, coaxial with the pivot 3 and intended to engage in a socket 12 integral with the spar 5, to removably connect the wheel 1 and its suspension mechanism to the chassis of the baby carriage. On either side of pin 11, part 4 carries two lugs 13 which, when pin 11 is pressed into socket 12, enter two corresponding holes 14 provided in plate 15 which connects socket 12 to spar 5 Fairly spaced apart from each other and from the pin 11, these lugs effectively prevent any rotation of the pin in the sleeve, the clamping screw 16 with which the latter is fitted having no other function than to retain the pin in the socket when it is engaged.
In the variant shown in FIG. 2, the arm 22 is bent downward beyond the wheel spindle 21, and its extension 22 'is connected by a tension spring 28 to the fixed point 26 of the independent part 24. The latter this door, as in the example of FIG. 1, a pin 11 and two pins 13.
The springs 8 (Fig. 1) and 28 (Figo 2) can be replaced by rubber parts or other equivalent elastic members.
It is clear that when one wishes to reduce the size of the car by removing the wheels and their suspension mechanisms, it suffices to loosen the screws 16 which hold them, and that it is just as easy to proceed with the reassembly. .
Of course, the invention is not limited to the forms and details of execution which have been described and shown by way of example, and which would not go beyond its scope by making modifications thereto.
