SYSTEM FOR ACTIVATING A JACK USING CAR BRAKE OIL.
The object of the present invention is to provide a device which; ,, by means of the brake control of the autosactivates a lifting jack.
Substantially, the present invention provides, on the brake fluid distribution piping system, a three-way valve designed to send the fluid to the brakes in normal condition and, for the operation of the device according to the invention, to to the left or to the right depending on the location of the jack, to act, through a suitable valve as well as a pressure cylinder, on the jack control levers.
The present invention is illustrated schematically by way of example, in a preferred embodiment, in the accompanying drawing.
Figure 1 shows a general schematic section of the device as well as the supply piping.
Figure 2 shows a detail of the operation of the jack.
In these figures, the brake pedal acts, in a normal way on the piston 2 of the cylinder 3 supplied by the oil tank 4. As an extension of the cylinder 3, there is provided the pipe 4 'which leads to a three-way valve 5 of which the 'port 5' leads to the brakes and 1.1 'port 5 "to the jack control system while 5"' is the port connected to pipe 4 '. From this valve, which is operated by hand, emerges another pipe 6 connected at 5 "and presenting the expansion valve 7, beyond which the pipe 6 continues to join the valve 8 with four ways of which 9 is in tubular connection with the oil tank, 10 is connected to the right cris, 9 11 is connected to the left jack, and finally 12 is connected to the pipe 6.
The valve 8 is fitted with the rotary core 13 intended to isolate, by means of a manual operation, the orifices 10 and 11 so as to send the liquid to the side concerned.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The orifices 10 and 11 are in tubular connection with a cylindrical compression system 14 provided with the piston 15 as well as the rod 16 connected to the movable triangular system 17 intended to be attached at 18 to the hook 19 of the jack.
The triangular system however provides for a return spring (not shown) intended to balance the entire system.
The cylindrical assembly 14 as well as the triangular system 17 can obviously in practice be placed on either side of the valve group 8.
The operation of the device takes place as follows: assuming that the jack has first been placed on the left side of the car, the cylinder 14 and the angular system 17 are placed as they are shown in the accompanying drawing; then, the three-way valve is placed in the position shown; a slight pressure is exerted on the pedal 1 of the brake and, the core 13 of the angular group 8 being disposed in the position of the drawing, the piston 15 and consequently the connecting rod 16 are thus moved, generating, through 1-'through the angular pivoting system 17, the displacement of the hook 19 of the jack.
When the jack is to be placed on the right side of the car, the core 13 of the valve unit is rotated, so as to put in communication, with 12, the port 10 connected to the jack, on the right side, and the orifice 11 is thus isolated, so that, by operating as above, the lowering of the jack hook on the right side is caused. When not using the cree, the three-way valve is placed so that the pipe 4 'communicates with the port 5' connected to the brakes. 'In this case, the system is isolated and the The action exerted on the pedal is for the benefit of the brakes.
Referring to the operation of the jack, this is done so that, under the pressure of the rod 16, the hook 19 rotates around the profile 20 of the rail 21 until it takes by gravity the 19 'working position. At the time of return to the normal state which occurs by the return of the rod 16 in the cylinder 14 and thanks to the intervention of the return spring, the hook 19 returns to its horizontal position, shown in FIG. 20
Obviously, the device described above in broad outline may include constructive variants and may be improved by additional accessories while remaining within the scope of the present patent application.
