The new method of connection between the main frame and trucks or bogies, for locomotives and other articulated vehicles, which is the subject of the main patent, is essentially characterized in that the articulation between the main frame and the trucks or bogies is carried out at means of laterally tilting pivots, these pivots being coupled to springs, or equivalent means, which tend to bring them back to their vertical position when a lateral displacement has occurred, this arrangement making it possible to modify at will the law of variation of the return forces depending on the displacement.
This addition is subject to special provisions.

cipal. These provisions modify the transmission of tensile forces,
braking or inertia between the main frame and trucks or bogies and, in addition, make the return members easily accessible; they are essentially characterized, in that the pivot, mounted on the bogie or truck by a ball joint or any other device allowing its inclination, is articulated to the main frame along an axis parallel to the track, the transmission of the forces being made by the members of the pivot and of the frame coupled by this articulation.
The pivot thus retains its ability to tilt transversely to the track, against the reaction of the springs or other return devices to which it is coupled; in the axis of the track, the transmission of the forces from the pivot to the chassis, or vice versa, being carried out at the height of

or other return devices instead of being hitched to the intermediate part of the pivot, can be hitched to an extension of the latter beyond its articulation to the chassis and thus be placed in this chassis, hence the possibility of them adjust, assemble and disassemble without having to lift the frame in relation to the bogie or truck.

The embodiments which will be described with regard to these examples should be considered as forming part of the invention, it being understood that equivalent provisions texts could equally well be used without departing from the scope thereof,
Fig. 1 (vertical section along the axis of the track) and 2 (transverse view) relate to a first example. 1 designates the body of the pivot, 2 the device for mounting the pivot in the bogie or truck 3; here,
this device, which must allow the pivot to be tilted, comprises a rubber cone 4.
According to the present addition, the pivot 1 and the main frame are articulated to each other by an axis 5 parallel to the track.
For this purpose, the pivot 1 forms a triangular yoke, the ends of the fork, 6 & 7, of which are mounted to rotate around the axis 5, on either side of the part 8 through which a cross member 9 of the frame is, for its part, mounted on axis 5. The transmission of forces between the pivot and the frame; or between the frame and the pivot, is done by the coo-

easily dimensioned to be able to transmit the greatest traction, braking or inertia forces and to resist the effects of shock due to buffering.
The connection of the pivot to the frame can be carried out either with lubrication, or with the interposition of rubbing wearing parts (for example in manganese steel) not requiring any lubrication, or with the interposition of a deformable material eliminating any surface slippage (e.g. example following provisions of the Silentbloc genre), etc.

spring-loaded connecting rods are clearly visible in Fig. 2; here they are coupled to the pivot in its middle part, between its articulation to the bogie or truck and its articulation to the chassis.
In the example of FIG. 3 (view in vertical section perpendicular to the track), the pivot joints, on the one hand, to the bogie or

ple of Figs. 1 & 2. But the elastic return rods, 11 & 12, are coupled to one or more extensions, 13, of the arms of the yoke formed by the pivot 1, beyond the axis 5. These rods are thus located arranged above the chassis (whereas they were below it in the previous example;) they can therefore be visited, adjusted or replaced without having to lift the body of the vehicle.
