La fig. 1 représente le cale-pied de l'invention en élévation;
La fige 2 est une vue en élévation du support seul;
La fig. 3 en est la vue de dessous;
La figo 4 en est la vue de dessus;
La figa 5 en est la vue de droite;
La fige 6 est une vue partielle en perspective du coulisseau du cale-pied;
La figo 7 est une coupe de la fige 1 effectuée par la ligne a-a ;
La figo 8 représente le cale-pied selon un second mode de réalisation ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

IMPROVEMENTS FOR BICYCLE OR SIMILAR PEDAL FOOTRESTS.
The present invention relates to improvements to the toe clips for bicycle pedals or the like and relates, in particular, to an adjustable toe clip to adapt to all sizes.
The cleat itself can move longitudinally with respect to the cleat support attached to the pedal.
The support has an extendable slide in which is guided a slide secured to the footrest
The footrest is secured to its support by bringing the wings and the extendable slide closer together, under the action of an underlying clamping screw.
The invention will be better understood by referring to the following description and to the accompanying drawing by way of indicative example only in which:
Fig. 1 shows the footrest of the invention in elevation;
Fig 2 is an elevational view of the support alone;
Fig. 3 is the bottom view;
Figo 4 is the top view;
Figa 5 is the right view;
Fig. 6 is a partial perspective view of the slide of the footrest;
Figo 7 is a section of fig 1 made by line a-a;
Figo 8 shows the footrest according to a second embodiment;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 9 is a partial perspective view of the slide of the footrest established according to this second embodiment
According to the invention, the footrest consists of a support 1, which is fixed in the usual way on the pedal P, and by the footrest itself, 2.
The support 1 is in the form of a square, the vertica branch of which is fixed, as has been said, on the pedal P, and the horizontal branch of which 3 is shaped to constitute a slide made by folding the edges 4 and 5 of branch 3, parallel to the latter.
The central part of the branch 3 is cut and folded down around the edge 6.
This folded part is rolled under the branch 3 and a median kerf 7 achieves, on the one hand, the extensibility of the slides and, on the other hand, the creation of two eyes 8 and 9.
The footrest 2, properly speaking, comprises a tab or slide 10 which can slide without play in the slides 4 and 5.
The two parts 1 and 2 are joined together by a screw 11, engaged in the eyes 8 and 9, and a nut 12.
. To mount this screw, the nut 12 is presented opposite the eye 8, against and under the branch 3 and the screw 11 is screwed using a screwdriver.
During this tightening, the nut cannot turn since one of its flats is in contact with the underside of branch 3.
To adjust the footrest to the desired length, all you have to do is partially unscrew screw 11 and slide the slider
10 in slides 4 and 5.
The tightening of the screw 11, tending to bring the slides 4 and 5 closer to one another, secures the fixing in the chosen position.
According to a second embodiment, the stop points of the slide rails against the starting points D of the curved part G of the footrest are eliminated.
This allows full sliding of the slide 10 of the footrest 2 in the slides 4 and 5 of the support.
For this purpose, the active lateral parts 10 'and 10 "of the slide 10 extend to the right and to the left, beyond the origin of the curved elastic part G.
In addition, this part is raised at 2 ′ relative to the upper plane of the slide 10 which can thus slide freely towards the rear in the guides of the support, the curved part G of the footrest passing above said guides.
