<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig.l est une vue partielle en perspective d'une fenêtre à douole vitrage conforme à l'invention; Fig.lbis est une vue en élévation d'un coupe-vent ; Fig.2 est une coupe en plan correspondante;
Fig.3 est une coupe partielle en élévation;
Fig.4 est également une coupe en plan montrant la disposition d'un rideau logé entre les deux vitrages;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Improvements to window frames.
The invention relates to window frames and more especially to modern window frames such as windows in administration buildings, hotels, factories, etc.
The; window frame according to the invention has the characteristic of having double glazing whereby, with considerable savings in heating, a great reduction in exterior noise is obtained, virtually complete tightness against wind and rain. and dust.
In addition, by placing one or more anti-fog cartridges between the panes, it is possible to remove any fog on the panes, which presents a large
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
advantage for store windows. The use of this double glazing also makes it possible to place a curtain between the two panes, which will keep itself clean for a very long time.
Finally, according to the invention, a specially shaped windbreak is provided, which ensures the sealing of the windows not only between the sash and the frame, but also between the two closed sashes.
The drawing appended to this specification shows, by way of example only, the recommended improvements applied to windows of common type, In this drawing:
Fig.l is a partial perspective view of a double glazed window according to the invention; Fig.lbis is an elevational view of a windbreak; Fig.2 is a corresponding plan section;
Fig.3 is a partial sectional elevation;
Fig.4 is also a sectional plan showing the arrangement of a curtain housed between the two panes;
Figs. 5 and 6 are partial sections in plan showing the closure of the leaves on the one hand by groove interlocking and on the other hand by step interlocking.
The window shown in the drawing is double-glazed, that is to say that the window frame (water jet, etc.) internally has a longitudinal projection 1, on either side of which the respective glazing 2a and 2b. Externally, the glazing 2a is held in place by the usual sealant seal 3, while internally the glazing 2b is held in place by strips 4 of rubber or similar material housed in square-shaped rulers. 5 fixed by screws 6 to the water jet 7 as to the other elements 8 of the window frame ..
Thanks to this method of fixing, it is possible to remove
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
easily the inner glazing 2-b for example to clean the inner face of the outer glazing 2a.
Between the elements of the window frame and the frame 10 is inserted a windbreaker 9 consisting of an elastic alloy blade folded over on itself, as shown in FIG. Ibis. This windbreak can be double, that is to say that it can be inserted on two faces of the frame 10, as shown in Fig.2.
To further strengthen the strength of the frame 10 in the masonry, a semi-circular or equivalent notch 11 is provided on the exterior face of the latter, into which the mortar covering the masonry is introduced.
Also according to the invention, a windbreak 9 is inserted between the contiguous faces of the window sashes 12, as shown in Figs. 5 and 6.
The space between the two panes 2a, 2b is advantageously used to house a curtain 13 (Fig. 4), which will be suspended for example on a cable 14 which is fixed on either side at 16 to the opposite faces of the projection. l.
Finally, we can provide in the s flaps 8 of the window recesses 17 in which an elongated filter is placed in order to filter and between the two glazing 2a, 2b an anti-fog cartridge will be introduced, which will allow the glazing to be maintained. 2a always very transparent in the case where the window is to serve as a store window.
It is well understood that one could bring to the devices described above structural modifications without departing from the field of the invention. Thus in particular, between the two panes 2a and 2b of the window, it is possible to place a wrought iron panel forming a lattice or the like and to provide a keyed lock, which will make the

tamper-proof window. This provision is particularly interesting for factory offices, administrations, and other public buildings, which it would protect without giving them the appearance of a prison.
