<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
" Heating appliance ".
The invention relates to a heating device of the so-called hot-air type and comprising in combination a hearth or appropriate heat source, a tube bundle forming the heat exchanger proper and means for propelling air between the elements of said tube bundle.
The apparatus according to the invention is essentially characterized by the introduction into this type of apparatus of at least one profiled central deflector and arranged so that the air propelled from top to bottom is dispersed radially in a relatively cone of dispersion. very low and oriented so as to distribute the hot air around the appliance under the most advantageous conditions.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The apparatus according to the invention is further characterized by the annular arrangement of the elements of the tube bundle combined with a conical central deflector preferably furnished with guide fins, the tube bundle being conditioned so as to form an entirely metallic assembly and. mounted so that it can freely expand and contract without any damage to the device. Yet another feature
EMI2.1
-The rr 4m,:; V consists of / the fact that the central deflector overcomes a support made of, ÀÉ, refractory material so that the hot gases and fumes are automatically directed towards the foot of the tubes of the tube bundle.
The result is that the latter is protected against too direct an action of the hearth and that the deflector in contact with said refractory support is heated by the latter, which favors obtaining a better heat output.
These different characteristics can be implemented in very different construction forms but participating in the same invention.
By way of example, without any limiting nature whatsoever, two embodiments are described in more detail below and shown diagrammatically in the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a radial section through an exemplary apparatus

annular 4 a permanent circulation of fresh air thus providing a means of cooling the outer wall 3 of said base. The latter is internally conditioned so as to form a proper combustion chamber 2 at the bottom of which the burner 8 opens.
Optionally, a grid 2 can be placed there when the hearth must be supplied with an appropriate solid fuel. The combustion chamber 7 is further extended by a constricted passage 10 which opens into the upper chamber 11 forming in a way the outlet chamber for the hot gases and fumes in which the tubes of the heat exchanger 12 open into said chamber 11. .
The latter is centrally lined with a refractory plate 13 supported by supports 14 also of refractory material, so that said support 13 overcomes the constricted passage 10. On the base thus conditioned rests freely the heat exchanger 12. This is formed by two annular plates 16 secured to one another by the intermediate tubes 17 arranged annularly, leaving a central space.
At the base of the latter is disposed a conical deflector 18 furnished with fins 19 extending into the upper part of the tube bundle. The annular plate 16 forming the base of the heat exchanger comes to fit freely in the rim 20 crowning the outer wall 3 of the base. On the heat exchanger is placed a hood 21 extended by the exhaust duct 22 which fits telescopically in the chimney 23 so as to be able to slide there possibly, for example under the effect of temperature variations causing expansions and contractions. in the well-known manner.
The hood 21 comprises a central bell 24 surmounting the central opening 25 of the annular plate 15 of the heat exchanger and this bell is extended on either side by a passage, respectively 26-27, opening out to the outside of the hood 21. In the bell 24 is

has an electric motor 28 having two ends of vertical axes 29-30.
The first passes through the bell 24 and is terminated by a propeller .3.1 forming a fan rotating in the exhaust duct 22 and, for this purpose, this fan is conditioned in order to be able to propel the gases and fumes from the bottom up; the end of the shaft 30 is fitted with a fan 32 rotating opposite the central orifice 25 of the heat exchanger, in the axis of the deflector 18 and this fan is conditioned so as to be able to move the fresh air from above at the bottom by projecting it on said deflector.
The fresh air is thus propelled from top to bottom in the axis of the heat exchanger 12 and, by the cooperation of the fins / 1¯0, and of the conical deflector 1891, the air heats up quickly and is dispersed downwards. of the heat exchanger in a cone placed low above the ground.
By this original arrangement we therefore obtain, at the same time as a rational flow of the heated fluid, a homogeneous and duly adjustable distribution in the room by the adjustment of the burner and of the flow of the fans. The apparatus is conditioned in such a way that it is completely protected from the effects of expansion and contraction resulting from even large variations in temperature. Also, the construction of the device is simple, very rational and relatively very economical.
We can obviously give it any other form than that described by way of example. Thus it is possible to produce simplified devices capable of being placed on any support or even of being suspended, for example as shown diagrammatically in the execution (figure 5. It suffices, in fact, to combine a base 33 internally. fitted out as a heating chamber, a beam
