<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Figure 1 est une vue de face d'une ceinture conforme- à l'invention;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Underwear.
The invention relates to sets constituting a woman's underwear, a belt, corset or combination, one part of which is constituted by a belt and the other by a bra. The invention more particularly consists of an undergarment of any conventional type comprising a part intended to encircle the abdominal region, and in which this belt part is provided with an insert or panel substantially in the shape of a diamond, in the part. of the undergarment which is intended to cover the abdomen and. in that which is intended to cover the posterior when the undergarment is worn.
According to a specific embodiment of the invention, said insert or panel is extensible only in the vertical direction, and is not elastic in the horizontal or transverse direction.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
According to the invention, this diamond-shaped insert or panel is embedded in the V-shaped edges of the two parts which constitute the sides of the garment soue, the upper and lower tips of the rhombus being in the upper edge and in the lower edge. underwear.
It is an object of the present invention to provide such an undergarment for girdling the body, either a waistband, or a panty belt or a jumpsuit, provided with a vertically stretchable diamond-shaped insert which allows the fabric of the undergarment. to stretch vertically over the abdomen and posterior of the user, without appreciable transverse extension in these regions, so that the diamond-shaped inserts or cover panels effectively provide a tightening effect on the abdomen and of the posterior.
By the construction of the new undergarment, i.e. by the fact that the upper and lower points of the diamond-shaped insert are

found in the top edge and: bor3: Sxafé.euus undergarment, there is angular traction on the side parts which is complete on the upper and lower parts of the undergarment but which does not allow the garment itself to expand , in a transverse direction in its parts which necessarily cover the portions of the torso which are to be tightened.
The aims achieved by the provision and the particular arrangement of the inserts or diamond-shaped panels are to ensure; when the garment is worn, a flattening or flattening of the silhouette in the parts of the body which are located under these skins, and to achieve an equal distribution of the flesh in the constricted regions of the body, so that one achieves a uniform and rational distribution and flattening of a relatively large area of the hypogastric region and the region lying

immediately under the small of the back.
In this way, effective control is obtained, better in accordance with the anatomical contour of these regions of the body, without impairing the flexibility of the undergarment, which is necessary for wearing it comfortably and for being able to put it on and wear it. remove easily and with ease.
A particular embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing, which shows an embodiment of the abdominal belt made according to the invention and in which:
Figure 1 is a front view of a belt according to the invention;
Figure 2 is a rear view of this belt; and
Figure 3 is a section taken on line 3-3 of Figure 1.
The belt shown preferably has front parts 10 and rear parts 11 made from one piece of woven material, so that the side edges of the undergarment are free of seams. The ends of each strip of material which constitutes a front part 10 and the corresponding rear part 11 are cut in the form of an obtuse angle, the apex of which lies substantially at the longitudinal center 12 of each of these parts and which rests. ends in 13 and 14, respectively, in the upper edge of each part, and in 15 and 16, respectively in the bmrd: lower
In building the lap belt, it is provided at the front with an insert 17, substantially diamond-shaped, and at the rear with an insert 18 of corresponding shape.
These diamond-shaped inserts 17 and 18 embed exactly into the V-shaped edges of parts 10 and II while their upper and lower tips fall into the upper edge; and the lower edge of the undergarment.
The inserts 17 and 18 are stitched on the V-shaped edges of parts 10 and 11.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The abdominal belt is fitted with classic 20-20 suspenders.
It will be understood that, thanks to the new construction of the abdominal belt described and shown, no appreciable extension can occur across the abdomen or posterior, which extension would destroy the tightening effect of the abdomen. belt. On the other hand, putting on and taking off the undergarment is facilitated by the angular traction which can be applied to the undergarment in the direction of the side edges of the inserts, this angular traction being applied from the center of the undergarment. ., both at the top and at the bottom where the tips of the osange-shaped inserts are located. When the underwear is worn,
such angular traction can be exerted by the movements of the body of the user and this traction provides freedom of movement and yet achieves the tightening action, in addition to the complete traction necessarily carried out across the upper edge and of the bottom jump of the undergarment.
Although the new lap belt has been described as being formed with a central front and rear diamond-shaped panel, made of a material stretchable in the vertical direction, it is possible without departing from the scope of the invention to manufacture these central insertions in an entirely inelastic material. In this case the tightening action of the front and rear panels will be more pronounced, but in some cases this greater tightening can have advantages.
