corresponding to one or other of the aforementioned mechanisms, in the case where this needle does not yet occupy this location,
The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.
Figures .. 1 and 2 show, in plan., An automatic switch of an air carrier in two different characteristic positions, respectively,
Fig; 3 shows, on a larger scale, this needle wheel in cross section according to III-III fig. 1.
Figs. 4 and 5 show, in side view, parts of this switch and such as they are seen in the direction of arrows $ IV and V of fig 2.
On the figs .. 1 and 2 we denote respectively by 1, the main channel, by 2 the auxiliary channel and by 3 a needle which can be displaced angularly around a pivot 4. The needle 3 is rigidly connected. , at its bearing end, to a control member 5 which extends it towards the rear and which has the shape of an isosceles triangle whose two equal sides respectively carry two curvilinear ramps 5 'and 5 "oriented in two directions different while being placed symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the needle.
Between the two tracks 1 and 2 is established a support plate 6 whose edge, directed towards the needle 3, carries a circular rail 6 'on which the free end of the needle 3 rests so as to be able to slide the long of it. The plate 6 carries a set of lever. 3 constituted by two angled levers, articulated to fixed pivots 7 "'and 8"', each lever comprising two arms of unequal lengths? fig. 1, the roller 15 'acts on the ramp 5, which brings the needle to the desired position. The same operations occur automatically in the event that the carriage has to move in the opposite direction on the needle.
If we start again from the position of the needle 3 shown in FIG. 1 and if we admit that the carriage, while on the main track, arrives at a needle which does not occupy a suitable position, the roller 15 ', occupying an active position, acts on the ramp' it lever 7 and the latter, by means of the members 9 and 11 which cooperate with it, brings 1 - '' needle 3 to the position shown in FIG.
2,
It should be noted, while the cnariot is moving in the direction of the arrow X of fig 1, that the position of the needle depends on the will of the operator who supervises the progress of the carriage since this operator must ensure that the correct finger, ie the one which corresponds to the desired needle position, occupies a suitable location.
On the other hand, the maneuver of the fingers
14 and 15 should no longer be carried out by the operator, when the cart is moving in the direction of the arrow Y (fig. 2), but it takes place desiaodromiqueiaent for the reason that two side control rails 16 and 17 (fige., 1, 2 and 4) are set upstream of the needle to automatically force the finger 15 or 14, which does not fit, down and into their inactive position while the suitable finger is moved towards the top so that, as the case may be, the 15 "or 1411 roller can engage on the corresponding ramp
We see in figs.
1, 2 and 5 that the ramps 5 'and 5 "of the control unit 5 have deflector cams 18 and
19 which have the function of pushing down the finger 14 or
15 which occupies its high or active position and which previously caused the movement of the needle so that this finger can pass on the 5 "or 5 'ramp which has come to be placed in its path

automatic switches for air carriers with one or more rolling carriages and the type of those comprising an oscillating needle whose free end, zend support and can slide on an established support entered a main track. and an auxiliary track, which improvements, used singly or in combination, consist in particular:
- To add to the needle, switches of the kind in question, two independent mechanisms between them to obtain its angular displacement, one of these mechanisms being constituted by an oscillating member, rigidly connected to the support end of the needle and the other, by a set of levers, connected, by articulation, to the free end of this needle, each of these two mechanisms comprising two ramps oriented in the opposite direction and which are suitable for cooperating respectively with mounted fingers. on the carriage and positively connected to each other and of which only one can intervene, at any time,
to bring the needle to a location which corresponds to .., the finger in question, for the reason that it acts on the corresponding ramp of one or more of the aforementioned mechanisms, in the case where this acute: it does not yet occupy this location, to constitute the ramps, mounted on the aforesaid oscillating member, by circular parts which are established symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the needle;
- To -constitute the control fingers, carried by the enclosure, rods susceptible to being displaced vertically and whose lower ends are interconnected by an oscillating lever so that the tilting of this lever pushes one of said rods upwards to its active position, while the other is moved down to its inactive position; to mount on the oscillating member two deviation cams projecting laterally and through which the finger, oc-
