<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Fig. 1 est une vue de côté de ce dispositif; Fig. 2 est un croquis explicatif du dispositif connu ;
Fig. 3 montre un dispositif schématique suivant Fig. 1.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Device for regulating the twist of wicks entering the drawing bench with cylinders for rotating pots.
The object of the present invention consists of a device for regularizing the twist of the strands entering the stretching rolls, in order to equalize the twisting of the strands entering the inlet rolls of the drawing bench. It is known per se to provide a wick tension funnel between the driving rollers, that is to say between rollers mounted in front of the drawing bench, and the drawing bench. well said. In this case, however, the tension funnel is placed immediately in front of the conductive roll. The wick itself is not tensioned between the drive roll and the torque of the input rolls of the draw bench. This drive roll is just a regular @ roll or a simple round bar.
It does not have one! pressure roller, or a control device. For these reasons, all the accumulations of twists, advancing above the conductive roll or the conductive bar, are drawn without obstacles with the bit into the tension funnel. These accumulated twists are not smoothed out,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
neither distributed, the wick being neither guided by a pair of conductor rollers, nor tensioned between the torque of the conductor rollers and the torque of the input rollers, nor finally the torque of the conductor rollers not being normally arranged at a distance greater than the length of the wick strand.
It is known in spinning that the twist is better distributed over a stretched part than over a part hanging freely. For these reasons, the unequal twist of the stretched wick will be distributed more uniformly over the entire length between two tightening points. ge than on an unstretched wick, a wick tension funnel, placed in front of the torque of the input cylinders, will have the effect of smoothing and more uniformly distributing any thickenings of the wick that may still exist during its passage through funnel, if the tension of the wick has not previously effected a more uniform distribution of the tensions over the entire length of the wick.
The object of the present invention makes use of elements known per se in the construction of weaving machines and it provides in particular a pair of pressure cylinders in front of the torque of the input cylinders at a distance substantially greater than that of the length. strand of roving fibers to be handled. Between this pair of pressure cylinders acting as conductor rollers and the actual input cylinders it is necessary for the wick to be tensioned and to undergo a slight delay. On its way, from said pair of conductive rollers to the pair of input cylinders, the wick passes through a tension funnel, the role of which is not to guide the wick, but on the contrary to smooth the irregularities thereof. .
The driving roller with its opposite roller, arranged in front of the input rolls of the drawing bench and having the shape of a pair of pressure cylinders, rotating more slowly than the torque of the input rolls, tightens the machine.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
che on its path, while the tension funnel is disposed immediately in front of the input cylinders, so that the uneven or thicker twists still existing in the guided drill bit under tension, are smoothed and evened out. This device can be provided for all stretchers or draw benches and is advantageously used for any kind of twist of strands or of fibrous compositions, consequently also for mixed yarns.
The appended drawing represents by way of example an embodiment of the object of the present invention:
Fig. 1 is a side view of this device; Fig. 2 is an explanatory sketch of the known device;
Fig. 3 shows a schematic device according to FIG. 1.
The draw bench includes the torque of the input rolls 1-1, the torque of the middle rolls 11-2 and the torque of the output rolls 111-3. On the support of these cylinders, the upright 5, there is advantageously provided an extension 6 in which another pair of pressure cylinders is mounted in an adjustable carriage 7, This pair of cylinders IV-4 serving as driving rollers, spins at a slightly lower number of revolutions than the torque 1-1 of the input cylinders.
In front of this is arranged a tension funnel of the wick 8, through which the wick is guided, which thus undergoes a tension on the path between the couple of the driving rollers IV-4 and the couple of the input cylinders 1 -1. This tension is in no way the cause of a delay, but its size is chosen in such a way that the bit is simply stiffened.
In the devices known to date, an example of which is shown in FIG. 2, a guide funnel or a guide fork 9 is provided in front of the pair of input cylinders 1-1
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
normal for the drill bit guided above a round bar or an uncontrolled cylinder 10. The funnel, guide fork or the like is only intended to cause the bit to perform a reciprocating movement on the tables of the rolls along the axis of the roll. The bit itself is not tensioned, it hangs freely without being subjected to the pressure of a cylinder. In this way the entire twist takes place in the S segment in front. the drill bit guide funnel.
Now, if a certain amount of twists have accumulated, they will suddenly cross the funnel which cannot retain them, so that the twists enter once in greater number, again in smaller number and without any regularization. between the torque of the input cylinders 1-1. In the object of the present invention, this drawback is eliminated, as is shown schematically in FIG. 3.
The wick, stretched and guided under tension between the driving rollers IV-4 and the input cylinders 1-1, still passes through the tension funnel 8 which, apart from the guide of the wick, performs the smoothing and equalization of the twists. applied to the taut segment of the bit. As the drive rolls have the form of pressure cylinders, the entire torsion is distributed in this case over the segment S1, that is to say over all the path limited by the tension funnel of the wick of on the one hand and by the pair of driving rollers IV-4 on the other hand.
In this way a noticeably better regularity of the torsion is obtained, because the torque of the driving rollers IV-4- already prevents. additionally the entry of the twisted segments into the draw bench, regardless of whether the wick is taken from a pot or spools.
