<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>

"Device for filling bottles with liquids
gaseous, under back pressure "
The present invention relates to a device for
filling of bottles, or other similar containers,
<EMI ID = 1.1>

according to the inv.ention we have, 'in space
air from the liquid tank, a pressure chamber closed by
a membrane, and filled with compressed air after the movement of-
elevation of the bottle, the membrane controlling the
of liquid in this 11 $ 0 ci, after a pressure equal to that which
reign in the air space of the liquid reservoir has been reached.
The control device of the liquid valve is, according to the invention, established to ensure at the same time 1 '
evacuation of residual air., during the introduction of the
liquid in the. bottle.- According to the invention, the liquid valve alone is

on the other hand, the compressed air is controlled by the lifting movement of the bottle, thanks to the action of a sliding sleeve on the control rod of a valve.
According to the invention, compared with other known devices, the advantage is obtained that a mechanical operation of taps and valves is completely eliminated, and that the filling is carried out absolutely automatically. It is only by the lifting movement of the bottle, or of another container to be filled, that the pressurization, the filling and the evacuation of the air, in correct succession, and with a exactly adjustable filling level. This regular filling level can be obtained quite independently of the shape and section of the filling orifice.
Whereas the pressurization of the cylinders is controlled by these cylinders themselves, it cannot be caused by damaged or broken cylinders, and is

filling operation. This filling begins only, under the automatic control according to the invention, when the pressure in the bottle is equal to that which prevails in the liquid reservoir, so that, in this way, the liquid is prevented from pushing up or being released e during filling. the succession of different filling operations is carried out, moreover, without any jerk. During this filling, the liquid flows along the wall of the bottle, and the breakage of the bottles caused by the temperature difference between their walls and the liquid is thus avoided.
The liquid and residual air tubes, since they are straight and easily removable, allow very easy and quick cleaning. Finally, the device described lends itself

Compressed air can be replaced by carbonic acid, or sulfur dioxide, which, for beer for example., is of great importance.
The drawings show the device for filling with gaseous liquids, in one embodiment given by way of example. In these drawings:

1 * upper end of the shaft 12 penetrates into the chamber 9, in which is disposed a spring 19, the tension of which can be adjusted by means of the nut 20, the lock nut 21 and the cup 22. The spring 19 simply serves to balance to some extent the total weight of all
the parts that load the membrane.
A spider 23 (see fig. 3), fixed to the body 2, crosses the caliper 15. This spider carries adjustment screws 24 and 25, blocked by locknuts 26 and 27. In the head of the blocking screw 25 is mounted a seat 28 of rubber. The screws
24 and 25 are thus adjusted that in the closed position (fig.l) the orifice of the residual air tube 16 is blocked, while between the lower face of the axis 12 and the upper surface of the

liquid valve 17.
In the filling position (fig. 2), on the other hand, the lower face of the shaft 12 bears on the upper face of the adjustment screw 24; the residual air tube 16 is moved away from the rubber seat 28, and therefore opened. To ensure tight sealing of the tube 16, the clearance between the latter and

corresponding brage of the filling head.
The operation of the device is as follows:
Bottle F. is lifted, and centered by part 31

As soon as the same pressure prevails in the bottle F and in the liquid reservoir, the membrane 11 assumes the position

and the residual air tube 16, thus caused, opens on the one hand the liquid valve 17, and on the other hand the residual air tube

through tube 16, and the liquid enters through tube 17, flowing along the wall of the bottle, so that foam is avoided. It is still possible to avoid the breakage of the bottles since, because the liquid flows along the wall, temperature equilibration is ensured.
The liquid flows into the bottle until the level in the bottle reaches the air tube 16. The drain

It will be understood that it is possible to make numerous detailed modifications to the device described and shown, without departing from the scope of the invention.
