 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  "Advanced folding boot".

   The present invention relates to a folding box of cardboard or similar material and it is essentially characterized in that it is formed of a single stamped and notched blank, so that the final constitution of the box can be done in a very simple manner. by offering a suitable rigidity, more particularly to the straightened side walls, of which the narrow side of the box has a triple thickness, in particular the sides integral with the narrow longitudinal straightened walls which are trapped between the narrow walls and a ledge recessed at inside the box.

   The boot, according to the invention, will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings, including:
Figure 1 shows the developed plan of the boot.

   Figure 2 shows a perspective view through the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 folding of the box into its final shape and Figure 3 shows in perspective the fully finished box.

   The box, according to the invention, comprises a bottom 1 and the four side walls 3, 4, 5, 6, the cover 2 with its rim bent at right angles 17 and integral with the wall 5. At the narrow ends walls 5 and 6 are provided with tabs 7, 8, 9, 10, which are each provided with notches 11, 12, 13, 14.

  The walls 3¯ and 4 have integral extensions of the same width approximately 15 and 16. In the assembly of the box, the legs 7 and 9, 8 and 10 are assembled by overlapping at the notches 11, 12 and 13, 14 respectively. This results in a straightening of the narrow walls 5 and 6. In this position, the walls 3 and 4 are straightened and the flanges or flanges 15 and 16 are folded over the intermediate walls 7, 9 and 8, 10. The joint by notch and overlap is thus hidden when the edges 15 and 16 are folded towards the interior of the box and the latter presents a very considerable rigidity, given the triple thickness and even partly quadruple with the narrow side walls 3 and 4.

   This box has the advantage of easy manufacture with a minimum of material waste, given that the developed blank has almost only two adjacent rectangles. As delivery can be made in the un-upright position, this box also has the advantage of easy and compact packaging and therefore of great savings in transport costs. The dimensions and the quality of the materials of the boxes, according to the invention, can obviously vary according to the circumstances.

Claims (1)

1.) Folding box comprising a bottom with four upright walls with a cover integral with one of these walls, character- <Desc / Clms Page number 3> ized by the fact that two opposite side walls have practically a triple thickness formed by the intervention of sections integral with the other side walls straightened and assembled by a notch and overlapping joint and a rim of substantially the same width integral with the wall in question and folded inside the box. 2.) 2.) The boot substantially as described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
