<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Device for removing sealing caps from bottles
The present invention relates to an apparatus for removing closure caps from bottles, comprising, on the one hand, a rim with which the lower edge of the removing cap is intended to come into contact and, on the other hand. , a support with which the upper part of the capsule is intended to come into contact.
Devices of this type are known, generally designated by the expression "capsule key", comprising a rod terminated by a flat head in which a notch is made such that the edge thereof adjacent to the rod can be made. be placed below the lower edge of the capsule while the opposite edge rests, sometimes through a sharp protrusion, on the middle of the upper part of the capsule.
With these devices, the capsule is deformed during its removal to such an extent that it
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
It is often impossible to straighten it well enough so that it can again be used to seal a bottle in a leaktight manner.
Cr, in certain economic circumstances, it is interesting to recover the caps removed from the bottles in order to be able to reuse them on other bottles.
The present invention has as an object an apparatus making it possible to achieve this desiderata.
To this end, in the apparatus according to the invention, the support for the upper part of the capsule is located relative to the aforementioned rim so as to bear on the upper part of the capsule opposite to that where the lower edge of the capsule is in contact with the aforementioned rim.
According to an advantageous embodiment, this device is mounted on a fixed wall.
In order to facilitate the unblocking maneuver, the aforementioned support and rim are placed relative to each other so that when the cap of a bottle to open is in the position allowing opening, the button is inclined but that the inclination of the bottle does not exceed that at which the liquid filling a normally filled bottle can flow therefrom upon removal of the cap.
In order to allow the engagement in the apparatus of a bottle to be uncapped, a certain time before the precise moment where the uncorking must be done, it has also been provided, according to the invention that the aforementioned support and rim are located one in relation to the other - be so that the center of gravity of a filled bottle, the cap of which is engaged in the apparatus,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
is located on a vertical line which passes on the side of the aforementioned rim opposite to that where the capsule is located.
To facilitate the maneuver of engaging the bottle to be opened and disengaging the opened bottle while allowing several bottles to be engaged in advance in the apparatus, provision has also been made for the latter to be present in the form of a slide open at both ends and the length of which is sufficient to enable the caps of several bottles to be simultaneously engaged therein.
Other features and details of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawings appended hereto, which represent schematically and by way of example only, some embodiments of an apparatus according to the invention.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view after vertical section of an apparatus according to the invention and of the neck of an unblocking bottle the cap of which is engaged in this apparatus.
FIG. 2 is, on a smaller scale, an elevational view of an apparatus according to FIG. 1 and of a bottle to be opened, the cap of which is engaged in this apparatus.
FIG. 3 is a section through another embodiment of an apparatus according to the invention and of the neck of a bottle, the cap of which is engaged in this apparatus.
In these different figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.
In Figure 1, there is shown a device 2 mounted on a vertical fixed wall 3. This device comprises
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
a fox '1 with which the lower edge 5 of a capsule 6 closing the neck 7 of a bottle is in contact. The device also has a support 8 for the upper part of the capsule 6.
This support is arranged relative to the rim 4 so

EMI4.2
having enrc-jé the capsule in the position shown .la figure 1, to lower it by rotating it in the direction of the arrow x.
This maneuver of a-

can not ;' color when removing the capsule.
EMI4.6
The support 8 and the rim 2oht, preferably, located one with respect to the other so that, as represented in the firurc 1, the cr: mt1'e of gravity 11 of a filled bottle whose cap is engaged in., prar eiI, or F; J tuol on a vertical line 12 which passes from the side of the rim. opposite 0 the one where the capsule 6 is located.
In this way, when a bottle has been engaged with its cap in the apparatus, it can be abandoned and it is (, in the position shown, because the resistance to the removal of the cap is sufficient to prevent that the couple due to
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
weight of the filled bottle may cause the cap to be removed.
The apparatus shown is in the form of a slide open at both ends. In this way, the maneuvers of engaging and disengaging the bottle are facilitated. In addition, by giving this slide a sufficient length so that the caps of several bottles can be engaged therein simultaneously, the uncorking operations can be accelerated at a given moment by suspending several bottles by their caps beforehand.
In Figure 3, there is shown an apparatus according to the invention which, instead of being fixed like that shown in Figures 1-and 2; is removable like the "capsule keys" generally used up to now.
The apparatus according to .figure 3 comprises, in addition to a rod 13, a rim 4 and a support 8 located relative to this rim so as to be in contact at 9 with the upper part of the capsule 6 opposite to that or. 1, the lower edge of the capsule is in contact with the aforesaid rim.
It is evident that the invention is not exclusively limited to the two embodiments shown and that many modifications can be made in form, arrangement and constitution. of some of the elements involved in its production without departing from the scope of the present patent.
