<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

"Improvements in looms
The present invention relates to a multi-box loom, in which a weft-breaking fork automatically stops the loom when the pick is broken, and in which the shuttle is launched by a saber operated by a hunting stick.
In weaving looms, when the pick is broken, the weft-breaking device kicks in and automatically stops the loom. However, this stop is not immediate.
By inertia, the loom continues to beat one or more strokes, In multi-box looms, the shuttles which correspond to the unclamped wefts continue to operate, and, to restore the broken pick, it is necessary to unravel the weave, which entails a waste of time and thread.
The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback. To this end, in the trade according to the invention, as soon as the aforesaid fork comes into action, its movement.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Event is transmitted to a part which then takes a stop position for which the hunting stick is immobilized.
In this way, the shuttles' hunting stops immediately when the weft breaker is working,
In addition, when the shuttle boxes are controlled by a mechanism, in an advantageous embodiment of the invention, an element is provided which, by moving with said part, immobilizes the control mechanism of the boxes, when said part takes its stop position.
@ Thanks to this arrangement, the control mechanism of the shuttles stops immediately and, the latter @ remaining in the position in which they were when the weft broke, the recall of the boxes is excluded for resetting. road.
The device according to the invention has the advantage of being extremely simple and reliable in operation, and of not including any adjustment.
Other details and particularities of the invention will emerge from the description of the drawings appended hereto and which represent, by way of nonlimiting example, a particular embodiment of the subject of the invention. tion.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view, after partial breaks, of the assembly of a mechanism according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a plan view, on a larger scale, of part of the mechanism shown in Figure 1, in the case of the normal operation of the loom,
Figure 3 is similar to Figure 2 but shows the different parts in the position they occupy when the weft breaking device has operated.
The mechanism shown in the drawing comprises a part 3 which is mounted on a support 3 fixed to a part 4 of the frame of the loom on which the mechanism is provided. Support. 3
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
has a groove 5 engaged in a slot 6 made in part 2. A notch 7 is also provided in part 2.
A rod 8 mounted on a plate 9 is integral with the weft breaker fork (not shown).
When the pick is oassed, the breaker device between emotion and the rod 8. driven by the weft breaker fork following arrow 2 enters notch 7 and pushes part 2 which moves from position shown in Figure 2 to that shown in Figure 3. Following this movement, the stop 10 of the part 2 pushes a leaf spring 11 which then turns around a shaft 12, by the references 13, 14, 15 and 16, the movement is transmitted to a rod 17 which drives following the arrow Y, a hunting nose 18 mounted in a slide 19.
However, the launching of the shuttles is caused by the movement of the sabers which results from the up and down movement of a hunting stick 20.
The slide 19 is integral with the hunting stick 20. The movement of the latter is caused by a roller 21 rotating around a motor shaft 22. Each time the roller 21 hits the hunting nose 18, the hunting stick 20 is suddenly lowered and it causes via the saber (not shown) the launch of a shuttle.
The roller 21 is fixed in a slide 23 in an adjustable position and chosen so that the movement of the hunting stick occurs at the desired time.
When the pick breaks, the weft-breaking device kicks in and, as explained above, the link 17 drives the flushing nose 18 along the arrow Y. Therefore, as soon as } the 'part 2 moves to its stop position (Figure 3) under the action of the weft breaker fork, the hunting nose 18 is driven along the arrow Y and is moved away from the field of the roller 21. The hunting stick is
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
therefore immobilized and the shuttles are no longer launched.
Therefore, even if the loom continues to inertially beat for some time, it will not be necessary to weave the fabric to re-establish the broken weft.
Furthermore, so that the control mechanism of the shuttle boxes is not damaged when the hunting stick is immobilized and the loom continues to beat by inertia, an element 25 is provided which rotates with the shaft. 24 of the return 15 when the blade 11 rotates around the shaft 12. The element 25 then pivots around a fixed support 26 and acts on a part 27 of the shuttle control mechanism so as to immobilize the latter in putting it, for example, out of. field of action of the organ which trains it.
Part 27 in the case of some multi-box looms may be the cylinder support carrying the cartons which regulate the movement of the boxes.
In order to prevent, by the vibrations due to the operation of the loom, the part 2 does not inadvertently move towards its stop position, an immobilization device is provided comprising a support 28 in which the part 2 engages. by a notch 29.
Support 28, which. is attached to part 4 of the frame, also serves to support part 2.
When the blade 11 moves under the action of the ridge 10, it enters a notch 30 formed in part 4 and is held there by its elasticity. The hunting nose 18 is therefore automatically maintained in its position away from the fleshy of the roller 21,
To release the blade 11 from the notch 30, the operator acts on a button 31 provided for this purpose.
The loom is actuated by a motor, the movement of which is transmitted to it only for a determined position of a control member.
The position of this control member depends on that
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
of an element 32 which moves with the part 2.
When the part 2 is in the position shown in FIG. 2, the control member is in the aforementioned determined position and the movement of the motor is transmitted to the loom.
When the part 2 is in its stop position (FIG. 3) the control member has moved out of this position and the movement of the motor is no longer transmitted to the loom.
If the loom is actuated by an individual electric motor, the element 32 may be a spring which, when it has moved with the part 2, drives a switch controlling said electric motor to the position of switching off of the machine. this engine.
If the loom is actuated from any motor controlling several looms, the element 32 can for example transmit its movement to a fork moving a transmission belt from a fixed pulley to its] / An idler pulley.
The immobilization device comprising the support 28 and the notch 29 obviously prevents the inadvertent displacement of the element 32, when the weft-breaking device has not operated.
The hunting nose 18 is constantly requested by a spring 33 which tends to bring it back into the field of the roller 21.
@ When the broken pick is repaired, it suffices) to restart the loom, to push the part 2 and the element 32 back into the position shown in figure 2 and to release the blade 11 by acting on the button 31 to make it come out of the notch 30. The spring 33 brings the flushing nose 18 back to its working position.
The mechanism described is only one particular embodiment of the object of the invention. Various structural modifications can be made thereto without departing from the scope thereof.
In particular, we can adopt other ways of transmitting
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
the movement of the. part 2, to the hunting nose on the one hand and part 27 on the other hand.
The shape of part 2 does not necessarily have to be the one shown; it can vary with the various types of looms and according to the way in which the motor movement is transmitted to the loom.
Finally, in the case of a Jacquard loom, the part 27 can be the axis of transmission of the movements of the Jacquard mechanism to the control mechanism of the shuttle boxes.
