"Bobinoir".
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
EMI2.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Elle a comme objetun dispositif simple permettant de couper le courant d'alimentation du moteur ;

<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
bielle 39.
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>

"Winder".
The present invention relates to a winder and especially to a winder intended for the production of conical or cylindrical coils of crossed wires.
Its aim is to considerably increase production.
The winders generally used today have only one horizontal axis spindle.
In order to increase production, it has already been proposed to install several spools on a long spindle and to guide the thread on these spools by means of as many thread guides as there are spools, these thread guides being integral with a single slide actuated by a cam.
In practice, it has not been possible to put more than two coils on a spindle because even in the case of two coils, a deflection of the spindle was observed after a certain time preventing any suitable winding.
It has also been proposed to wind the wire on two bobbins at the same time by mounting these bobbins on two spindles of
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
ordinary length arranged one retorts the single spindle of the ordinary bobbins and the other at a greater distance from a cane which actuated a slide carrying a balance on which are mounted the wire guides corresponding to the two bobbins.
These winders, as well as the previous ones, have the drawback of increasing the inertia of the assembly of the slide and of the parts carried by it and, consequently, of giving rise to reactions. more important on the frame of the winders and on the buildings in which these winders are installed. In addition, the increase in the inertia effects of reciprocating parts results in rapid deterioration of these parts.
The present invention relates to a winder comprising several spindles carrying spools on which son are wound simultaneously passing through wire guides integral with a slide controlled by a rotary cam, in which the pins are arranged so as not to give rise to an increase in inertia effects similar to the one just mentioned.
According to the invention, said pins are arranged around said cam.
In order to further reduce the effects of inertia, it is also provided in a winder according to the invention that the yarn guides by which the yarns are wound on the various spools are integral with sliders actuated by
EMI2.1
eeccō c, 4 a common cam along which are distributed in radial planes forming between them equal angles.
The present invention also relates to a black bobbin in which the wire guide is integral with a slide actuated by a cam and provided with a nozzle engaged on a rod.
Its purpose is to ensure perfect guiding of the slide without the use of fixed jaws between which the slide
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
slides in ordinary machines and, therefore, without this slide being able to wear quickly in contact with the cheeks, as is the case in ordinary machines.
According to the invention, said slide is further provided with a second nozzle engaged on a second rod parallel to the first.
The invention also relates to a winder comprising at least one spindle of variable inclination connected to a drive shaft by a double articulation.
Currently, when spools of different taper are used, it is necessary to vary the inclination of the spindle axis accordingly so that the thread guide remains in constant contact with the wire wound on the spool , inserting strips of different thicknesses between a sleeve in which said pin is mounted and a fixed part crossed by said sleeve.
The difficulty of obtaining the exact inclination of the axis of the spindle means that in practice it very often happens that the thread guide is not in permanent contact with the spool.
In the winder according to the invention, the spindle bears against the upper surface of a sleeve which is inclined with respect to a bearing surface by which said sleeve bears on the frame in an adjustable angular position.
It is known that to adjust the crossing of the threads on the spool, it is necessary to vary the driving speed of the cam which controls the movement of the slide carrying the thread guide with respect to the driving speed. ment of the spindle carrying the bobbin. It is possible to act by hand on the transmission of the mechanism for rotating the drive cam of the slider to adjust the crossing as a function of 1 + thickness of the wire. One can act automatically on this mechanism according to the diameter of winding.
According to the invention, the aforesaid mechanism consists of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
so that the drive shaft of the cam is driven by a V-groove pulley, consisting of two plates the distance of which is adjustable and driven by a V-belt in cross section subjected to the action of a tensioner.
Preferably, the aforesaid lever is connected at one end to the device which makes it possible to adjust its position by hand and at the other end to a connecting rod by which it is placed under the dependence of the winding diameter of the wire on the bobbin.
The invention finally relates to a winder actuated by an electric motor, the supply current of which can be interrupted automatically when a wire breaks.
Its object is a simple device making it possible to cut off the supply current to the motor;
According to the intention, each wire to be wound up holds open a switch which closes when the wire breaks and which is inserted in a low voltage relay circuit controlling the power supply to the motor, the various switches being connected in branch one. on the other.
This winder also advantageously comprises an additional switch mounted as a bypass on the other aforementioned switches and which is opened by a cursor actuated by the counter for the length of the wound wire.
Other features and details of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawings appended hereto and which represent schematically and by way of example only, one embodiment of a winder according to the invention.

Figure 8 shows schematically in perspective the tensioner of the trapezoidal belt which is used to drive the cam shaft which causes the displacement of the slides carrying the thread guides.
Figure 9 is a diagram of the electrical device which serves to cause the motor to stop when a wire breaks or when the desired length of wire is wound on a spool.
Figure 10 shows in perspective one of the switches intended to stop the motor when one of the wires breaks, a waxing machine and a counter for the length of the wire wound on a spool.
In these different figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.
The winding machine shown in FIG. 1 carries an electric motor 2, the rotor of which is elastically connected to a shaft 3 by means of a spring 4. The purpose of this elastic coupling is to avoid too sudden tensioning of the wires. to roll up, when starting the engine.
On the shaft 3 is wedged a toothed wheel 5 (Figures 1 and 3).
The rotational movement of the latter is transmitted to other identical toothed wheels such as 6, via pinions such as 7. Each toothed wheel is therefore connected to each of the adjacent identical toothed wheels by a pin.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
intermediate wildebeest. This connection ensures the rotation of all the toothed wheels at the same speed and in the same direction, even if there is play between the teeth of these wheels and those of the pinions 7.
The various toothed wheels are wedged on shafts 8 which are arranged around a cam 9 (Figures 2 and 4) at an equal distance from the axis of a shaft 10 which carries this cam.
The shafts 3 and 8 are each connected by means of a double articulation constituted by a ball joint 11 (FIG. 1) to a rod 12 carrying a pin 13. The various pins are therefore also arranged around the axis of the cam. 9.
Each pin is intended to carry a bobbin on which the wire is to be wound. The crossing of the thread on each bobbin is controlled by the reciprocating movement of a thread guide 14 (Figures 1 and 2) carried by a slide 15. The latter is provided with two nozzles 16 engaged on rods 17 integral with the. bottom 18a and of the cover 18b of a boot 18 containing the cam 9. Each slide 15 carries two rollers 19 (figure 2) arranged on either side of the cam 9. The guide of the slide by the two nozzles 16 prevents any movement of this slide other than the movement along the axis of the rods 17. These slides must therefore not be in contact with the edges of the slots 18d (Figures 1 and 4) provided for their passage in the side wall of the boot 18.
The slides 15 are distributed along the common cam which actuates them in radial planes forming equal angles between them. In the case shown in the drawings, there are six slides 15 which are 60 from each other. As a result of this distribution, half of the slides move in the opposite direction to the other half. Consequently, the resultant of the effects of inertia due to the reciprocating movements of all the slides on the cam is zero.
The rotation of the shaft 10 of the cam 9 is ensured by
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
via a pinion 21 (Figures 1 and 8) which meshes with a toothed wheel 22. The ratio of the diameters of this pinion and of this toothed wheel determines, in principle, the pitch of the intersection. The toothed wheel 22 is carried by a shaft 23 mounted in an arm 24 pivoting about the axis of the shaft 3 which carries the pinion 21. The shaft 23 also carries a pulley 25 with a trapezoidal groove which drives a belt. 26 of trapezoidal cross section passing over a pulley 27 similar to pulley 25 but wedged on shaft 10 of cam 9.
Pulley 27 actually consists of two plates 27a and 27b (FIG. 7). The plate 27b is fixed while the plate 27a is axially movable. The latter tends to be moved away from the fixed plate 27b when the belt 26 is stretched but it can however be brought closer to the fixed plate 27b, despite the action of the belt, when a lever 28 is acted on butting against it by means of d 'a thrust ball bearing 29.
The tension of the belt 26 is kept constant thanks to a counterweight 30 (figure 1) suspended from a cable 31 (figure 8) passing over a return pulley 32 and connected to one of the ends 24a of the pivoting arm 24. The pulley 25 which serves to drive the V-belt 26 therefore tends constantly to move away from the pulley 27. In this separation movement, the rotational movement of the shaft 23 is ensured by the fact that the wheel toothed 22 rolls on pinion 21.
The variation of the winding radius of the belt 26 on the pulley 27 has the effect of varying the pitch of the crossing of the wire on the spool. However, the pitch must in particular vary according to the size of the wire. To take into account the. wire size in determining the pitch, it suffices to act by hand on a sleeve 33 (Figures 1 and 7) threaded in two different directions and engaged on two threaded rods 34 and 35.
The rod 34 pivots at 36 while the rod 35 is connected at 37 to the lever 28. The latter is articulated at 38 at the end of a
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
connecting rod 39.
To achieve a perfect crossing, it is also necessary to vary the pitch of the crossing depending on the diameter of winding of the wire on the bobbin. The automatic variation of the crossover pitch as a function of the thread winding diameter is achieved by virtue of the fact that the rods which 17 serve as a guide for the slide 15 are integral with the box 18 containing the cam 9 and that the displacements angular angles of this box are transmitted to the lever 28. This transmission is effected as follows. Bolte 18 is integral with a sleeve 40 which surrounds the shaft 10 of cam 9.
This sleeve carries a plate 41 (Figures 1) at the periphery of which is arranged an inclined ramp 42 playing the role of a cam. This serves as a raceway for a roller 43 carried by a bent portion 44 of a lever 45 pivoting at 46 and, itself connected to the lever 28 by the connecting rod 39.
It can be seen from the foregoing that the adjustment of the crossover pitch can be carried out automatically according to the winding diameter of the wire and by hand according to the size of the wire by acting on the same lever 28, which, in combination with the tensioner acting on the belt 26, causes the winding diameter of the belt 26 on the pulley 27 to vary positively in both directions.
So that the automatic adjustment of the pitch of the crossing as a function of the diameter of winding of the wire on the bobbin can be achieved, it is not absolutely essential that the slide 15 be rigid like the one which has just been described.
This slider could, for example, consist of two parts as shown in FIG. 5. One of these parts designated by 15 'carries the yarn guide 14 and is articulated with respect to the part designated by 15 which is guided by the yarn guide. intermediate nozzles 16 engaged on the rods 17.
One of these rods serves at the same time as a pivot for part 15 '. This is constantly requested by a spring 76
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
fixed to part 15 so as to press against the corresponding spool. This spring has a tension such that when the winding diameter grows faster on one bobbin than on the other, for example because the wire wound on this bobbin has a lower tension, this tension is insufficient to ensure the displacement. angular of the box 18 and the members by which this box is connected to the lever 28. The pivoting of the part 15 'relative to the part 15 is limited by stops such as 15 "that the part 15' presents on both sides. 'other from part 15.
Each pin 13 bears against the upper surface 47a (Figure 6) of a sleeve 47 fixed relative to the frame 48 by means of a nut 49. The upper surface 47a of this sleeve is inclined with respect to a bearing surface 47b formed in said sleeve and by which the latter bears on the frame. The inclination between the plane dela pertée 47b and the plane of the upper surface 47a is equal to the maximum angle formed by the axis of the spindle with the generatrices of the frustoconical part of the bobbin on which the wire is wound.
If the latter has a frustoconical exterior surface parallel to its interior surface, the spindle 13 is placed in a position in which the exterior generatrix of the bobbin facing the yarn guide 14 is parallel to the direction of movement of the thread guide. here, that is to say vertical. is
If a spool is used, the outer / cylindrical surface of which is fixed, the sleeve 47 is fixed at a right angle to the position which has just been considered. If we use a bobbin whose outer surface has a smaller taper than that of the frustoconical part of the spindle, the sleeve 47 is fixed in an intermediate position between the two positions which have just been considered, this position inverted. intermediate depending on the taper of the outer surface of the coil.
The worker can easily determine the position
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
so that a generator of the bobbin is approximately parallel to the direction of movement of the corresponding thread guide.
The wedging of a spool on the frustoconical part of the spindle is carried out in a particularly simple manner by leaving in said indeformable frustoconical part a small r: inure 13a similar to a helical groove, this groove being wound, from the small diameter end, opposite to spindle rotation.
Although the fixing of the bohinot on the spindle produced thanks to this groove is certain during the winding of the wire, the removal of the bobbin can be done easily by simple axial thrust, possibly accompanied by a slight rotation of the bobbin in the opposite direction of winding direction of the groove considered above.
Each wire to be wound passes under a wheel

n 5u (figure mounted at the end of an arm 51 pivoting at 52. (These elements have not been shown in figure 1). This arm carries a conductor 53 which, when the wire breaks, falls on two contacts 54 (figures 2 and @ 9) forming part of a low voltage circuit comprising a current source 55 (figure @ 9) and an electromagnet 56. The conductor 53 and the contacts 54 constitute a switch of the current supplied by the source 55, as long as the wire passing under the roller 50 is taut. The winder comprises as many switches of this kind mounted in shunt one on the other as there are pins .
When the electromagnet 56 is energized following the closing of one of these switches, it causes the closing of a mercury contactor 57 placed in a circuit supplied by a current source 58 and which comprises a solenoid 59. When the latter is energized, its armature 60 provokes the opening of a switch 61 interposed in the circuit for engaging the engine starting contactor. This

last contactor, shown schematically at 62, comprises a contact 63 which is opened at the same time as the supply current to the motor is cut off. As a result, the excitation circuit of the solenoid 59 is also cut off.
The winder also has counters for the length of the wire wound on each bobbin. These counters which are, by

The meters each actuate a switch mounted as a bypass on the switches 53 and 54. The switches operate

born by the counters include, for example, a cursor (t:! i} 60 opiate in proportion to the length of the wound wire.
Each ursor comprises two claws 67 urged by a spring 68 to be applied on either side of a threaded rod 69 rotated by the counter. When the head of this cursor 66 enters a block 70, it pushes a contact 71 against a contact 72, these two contacts being mounted in bypass on the switches 53 and 54, as shown in FIG. 9.
The aforementioned claws 67 can be easily moved away from the rod 69 despite the action of springs 68 by bringing the ends 73 of these claws closer together. This bringing together causes the said claws to pivot around a cylindrical part 66a of the slider 66 which is traversed by a guide rod 74. Thanks to this arrangement, the slider 66 can, after the completion of each reel, be easily returned against a cleat 75 whose position along the rod 74 can be adjusted as a function of the length. of wire to be wound.
The pivoting arm 51 carrying the driver 53 can be

brought into a position for which said conductor no longer comes into contact with the contacts 54, even when there is no wire to be wound up kept stretched below the

It suffices, for example, to bring the swivel arm 51 in a raised position for which the vertical passing through its center of gravity passes to the other side of the axis of its pivot 52.
This feature permits the completion of the coils without the worker having to interpose an insulating sheet such as a sheet of paper between the conductor 53 and the contacts 54.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiment shown and that many modifications can be made in the form, the arrangement and the constitution of some of the elements involved in its realization, without departing from the scope of this patent.
Thus, it goes without saying that, although the vertical arrangement of the pins is advantageous because it facilitates lubrication and avoids the ovalization of the sleeves in which these pins are mounted, one could, in principle, adopt the arrangement of the pins around the common cam which controls the sliders, if these pins had, as usual, their axis directed horizontally.
