<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Tous ces inconvénients sont évités par l'emploi du bouton formant l'objet de l'invention, qui présente une tête d'une forme allongée horizontalement et terminée en pointe, légère - ment tournée vers le haut. Cette forme permet la fermeture du faux-col d'une manière très facile, même lorsque le faux-col est assez étroit :en effet, il suffit que la pointe tournée vers le haut entre dans la boutonnière pour que, en faisant tourner sur lui-même le bouton, sa fixation soit assurée . il n'y a pas de danger pour la boutonnière, car l'élargissement en est fait .d' une façon graduelle, et il n'y a pas de danger que le faux-col s'ouvre, car la tête allongée, une fois tour - née, accroche la boutonnière et ne lui permet pas de se dé - crocher;

Improvement in the construction of buttons for false collars.
@
The invention relates to an improvement in the construction of buttons for false collars.
Buttons of this type are well known, and are formed, essentially, by a base plate, a rod and a more or less rounded or pointed upwards head.
It has likewise been proposed, in order to facilitate the introduction of the head of the button into the buttonhole, to mount the head on the button so as to be able to be tilted: in this way, the introduction was facilitated by the fact that the head was presented, for the introduction, from the side, namely with an elongated and much thinner penetration surface (toggle buttons).
But, owing to the delicacy of the construction, the head came off very easily.
The fixed head buttons had the disadvantage of the very great ease of breaking the buttonhole or the head slipped very easily out of the buttonhole) especially

when tying the tie, causing the collar to open.
All these drawbacks are avoided by using the button forming the object of the invention, which has a head of a horizontally elongated shape and terminated in a point, slightly turned upwards. This shape allows the false collar to be closed very easily, even when the false collar is quite narrow: in fact, it suffices that the point facing upwards enters the buttonhole so that, by turning on it - even the button, its fixing is ensured. there is no danger for the buttonhole, because the enlargement is done gradually, and there is no danger of the false collar opening, because the elongated head, a once turned, hooks the buttonhole and does not allow it to come off;
opening is also very easy: just turn the head to the starting position, which allows it to come out of the buttonhole easily.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example only, a mode of construction of the button, in elevation in fig.l, in plan in fig.2, and in place in fig.3.
The knob is formed by the base a which may assume a disc shape, as usual, or even have an ellipsoidal plane, or other suitable shape preventing the knob from turning; by a rod b which, due to the special shape of the head, can be of very reduced length, since only the length corresponding to the thickness of the two ends of the shirt collar and of the two thicknesses of the ends of the scythe is necessary -collar ; and by the head c which has a horizontally elongated shape and terminates in a point raised upwards.
Posteriorly, the head, at its widest part, connects directly to the rod in order to avoid any sudden protrusion which would damage the buttonhole of the false collar.

It is easy to understand that any constructive detail may vary in practice without departing from the scope of the invention and that the button can be used as a back button as well as a front button.
CLAIMS.
1. Improvement in the construction of buttons for false collars, characterized in that the head of the button, mounted on a shank in particular shorter than the shank of ordinary buttons for false collars, is elongated horizontally and ends in a point raised upwards, the head being mounted on the rod eccentrically and, towards its wider part, connected directly to the rod itself.
