Dispositif de changement de vitesse pour bicyclettes
EMI1.1
----------- --------------------------------------- et analogues. ------------
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Gear shifting device for bicycles
EMI1.1
----------- --------------------------------------- and the like. ------------
The present invention relates to a gear change device for bicycles and the like, which makes it possible to obtain two different speeds by a simple operation carried out on the handlebars and this device is based on the interoalation between the control part and the part.
EMI1.2
controlled by a system of bypocyoloràaux gears.
The invention will be well understood with the aid of the detailed description which knows relating to two embodiments shown in the drawing and one of which is especially applicable to the hub of the rear wheel and the other especially to the axle of the pedals. the bicycle.
In the accompanying drawing are shown, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows, in axial section, the realization of a speed change device serving for the application of speed change to the chain wheel integral with the crankset.
Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment used
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
before applying the gear change to the rear wheel.
Fig. 3 gives on a larger scale a partial axial section through certain components of the device.
Fig. 4 shows a front view of FIG, 3.
Fig. 5 gives on a smaller scale an internal front view of the interior of the gear change device.
Referring to fig, 1 of this drawing: 1 is a hub on which is mounted a wheel which comprises a circular flange 3 inside which is formed a toothing 4. The flange 1 serves as a hub for a ring ± comprising :, on its outer perimeter, chatne teeth. on the wheel 2 is formed, in a projecting axial portion 7, a toothing 8. On the same hub 1 is rotatably mounted an eccentric 9 on which can turn a wheel 10 comprising a toothed ring 11 engaged by a few teeth with the gear 8 of the wheel 7.
The wheel 10 also comprises a set of teeth 12 which engages with the teeth 1 of the flange 3. Between the outer surface of the flange 3. and the inner surface of the ring 5 is interposed a freewheel device, for example with balls such as that 13. Between the eccentric 9 and the wheel 10 is interposed a simple ball bearing 14. it is understood that if the wheel 3 is integral with the hub of the rear wheel and that if the ring 1 forms the chain sprocket, this will give the control speed is multiplied each time this speed change is inserted, because the ring 1 obviously rotates less quickly than the wheel 2.
As the eccentric 9 is wedged on the hub 1 by means of a keyhole 15 which can slide in the grooves parallel to these two parts concerned and the ol & vette can come out of its housing by a traction
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
lateral, for example by means of a traction effected on a Bowden cable held on the handlebars, it is very easy to understand how, when this eccentric is disengaged by moving this key, it is only the. freewheel device which remains in operation which then achieves a 1: 1 transmission ratio.
What has been said for the realization of fig, l, can be repeated for the realization of fig, 2, with the only difference that here the ring 5 'is internal relative to the flange 3'. according to this variant if the ring is secured, for example, with the pedals of the bicycle and if the toothing 6 formed directly on the flange 5 'is used, as a large chain wheel, this will give rise to a speed reduction between the control part (pedal) and the controlled part (large chatne wheel).
If the key 15 shown in fig, 3 is disengaged, the ratio will become 1: 1, since then it is the freewheel device 14 which carries out the direct drive of 3 'by means of 5'.
In the variant according to FIG. 1, the freewheel device 14 allows a relative sliding forward of the controlled ring 5 with respect to the control flange 3.
Fig. 3 shows another method of disengaging the eccentric by means of lateral displacement of this eccentric outside its housing in the wheel 10. Figures * and 5 show details from the front.
The invention has been described and illustrated purely as an indication and in no way limiting and it goes without saying that many modifications can be made to its details without departing from its spirit.
