<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
fixing rods, contact supports, etc ... on insulators made of porcelain, glass or any other insulating material.
This device is characterized by the fact that the insulator comprises for each fixing device a cylindrical hole, the bottom of which widens out into a conical groove in which the end of an extensible sleeve opens out beneath it. action of a threaded rod terminated by a conical head with a knurled edge; the other end of this threaded rod serving to fix, by simple screwing, the metal parts on the insulator.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.
FIG. 1 is a longitudinal half-section along the median axis of the insulator showing the position occupied by the device inside the insulator before extension.
- Figure 2 is the same longitudinal half-section showing the arrangement occupied by the device inside the insulator after extension.
- Figure 3 is a section of the cap forming elastic éorou and intended to support the clamping device.
-Figure 4 is a top view of the same part.
- Figure 5 shows in section the extendable sleeve ensuring the locking of the device in the holes of the isolator.
FIG. 6 is a bottom view of this expandable sleeve.
The device which is the subject of the invention is constituted by an extensible socket (1) of a plastic metal such as, for example, aluminum or copper, comprising longitudinal slots (2) and provided on the outer surface in its lower part, streaks or threads (3). This socket ends with a bevelled part (4) as shown in figure 5.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
A part consisting of a threaded rod (5) can slide inside the sleeve (1), carrying at its lower part a conical head (-6) comprising a knurled edge (7).
On the threaded rod (5) is screwed an elastic cap (8) carrying four holes allowing its tightening using a spanner wrench. Between the insulator (10) and this cap (8) are interposed a metal washer (11) making it possible to obtain equal pressure and a plastic washer (12) made of klingerite or any other similar material ensuring the support of the metal washer on the insulator (10).
The insulator (10) has at each of its ends a cylindrical hole (13) having at its lower part a conical shape (14) in which the lower end of the sleeve (1) is housed after extension.
The yoke, bar supports or any other accessories (15) are attached to the threaded rod (5).
To mount the device on an isolator, proceed as follows
The insulator having at each end a cylindrical hole comprising at its lower part a conical housing, the threaded rod (5) with the conical head (6) is first introduced into this cylindrical hole and then, over this part, the expandable bush (1) which is successively covered with the klingerite washer (12) and the metal washer (11); the elastic cap (8) is then screwed using a special wrench à. lugs corresponding to the holes (9).
Under the action of the tightening, the threaded rod (5) and its head go up inside the sleeve, spreading the lower end of the sleeve (1) as shown in figure 2.
The knurling (7) prevents the rod (5-6) from turning inside the sleeve (1). As the tightening continues, the lower part of the sleeve (1) is applied by the
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
conical part (6) of the threaded rod (5) contra the. conical groove (14) existing at the bottom of the hole (13) of the insulator (10). The ridges or threads (3) existing at the lower part of the sleeve (1) ensure by their crushing a perfect support of the sleeve (1) on the wall of the conical part (14) of the insulator (10). .
When the tightening is finished, all you have to do is screw on the part of the screw (5) projecting the cap, the support yoke or any other accessories (15) that the insulator must support.
