<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Liquid supply and discharge device,
The invention relates to a device for draining liquid, for example water, suitable in particular for a toilet tank.
The object of the invention is to provide a device which prevents water from remaining in the flushing tank, which would be liable to deteriorate the latter either by corrosion or by freezing the water.
According to the invention, the arrival of a float moved by the rise of water in the tank and which controls the supply and evacuation of the latter, to a position somewhat preceding the opening of the tank. A discharge valve determines the sudden intervention of a mechanism which abruptly completes the rise of the aforesaid float and consequently the opening of the discharge valve and the closing of the liquid supply valve.
The accompanying drawings show by way of nonlimiting example two embodiments of the invention. This extends to the various original features contained in the provisions represented

invention.
The f ig. 2 esta plan view of fig.l.
The cistern 2a comprises in its interior capacity a float 2b supported by a lever 2c capable of pivoting on a journal 2d. This lever 2c is articulated by means of a toggle 2m to a lever 2g itself articulated by means of a toggle 2f to an axis 2n on which a piston 2p and a screen or valve 2q are wedged, the latter being oriented perpendicular to the direction of flow of the feed water.
The axis 2n provided with its piston and its valve are capable of sliding in a supply device 2r during the rise of the float 2b under the influence of the water arriving in the reservoir 2a.
In addition, the lever 2 @ is provided with an arm 2s joined to the handle 2v by means of a: 2x chain which rolls on a roller 2z. The lever 2c is pierced with an eyelet 3a through which the rod 3b of the discharge valve 3c passes.
In the position shown in solid lines, the piston 2p does not block the orifice 3d of the supply device so that the water arrives according to the arrows and gains the internal capacity of the reservoir 2a.
As the water level rises in the said tank, the float 2b rises and the levers 2c and 2g gradually take the position shown in dotted lines which causes the piston 2p to approach patit to small of orifice 3d. When the lever 2c takes a position close to the stop 3g wedged on the rod 3b of the discharge valve, the piston 2p has reached the orifice 3d which it closes, which stops the passage of water.
However, this presses on the screen or valve 2q
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
pushes back the piston 2p over its entire length which abruptly completes the movement along the arrow II of the axis 2n from which it follows the raising or abrupt rise of the float 2b which produces the sudden lifting, by meeting the lever 2c and the stopper 3g, of the discharge valve 3c.
The water contained in the tank 2a is thus discharged.
The water pressure acting on the valve 2q, the float 2b remains in its highest upper position so that the supply of water to the tank 2a cannot take place. The valve 3c therefore remains also raised and in this way no water can remain in the tank,
If, for the need, one wishes to allow a refeeding of the tank 2a, it suffices to pull the chain 2x which will bring back the levers 2c and 2g as well as the float 2b from the dotted position to the position in solid lines.
It follows that the discharge valve 3c comes to rest on its seat and close the tank 2a. Similarly, because the float and its levers are returned to the original position, the axis 2n is moved according to the arrow III this which produces the unblocking by piston 2p of the supply port 3d.
The water can thus enter the tank 2a again.
It should also be noted that the feed device 2r is disposed outside the reservoir 2a as can be seen in FIG. 2 so as to. that this device can be easily protected against frost.
