L a. présente invention a pour objet un dis- tributeur d'engrais comportant un appareil distribu- teur formé par un tablier articulé central, muni la- téralement de doigts obliques et relié à un moteur approprié qui lui imprime un mouvement continu;

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Fertilizer and grain distributor with front and rear spreading and continuous distribution:
The. The present invention relates to a fertilizer distributor comprising a distributor apparatus formed by a central articulated apron, provided laterally with oblique fingers and connected to a suitable motor which imparts a continuous movement to it;
this device ensures the spreading of the fertilizer by two windows of adjustable heights-arranged respectively at the front and at the rear of the device, the whole being combined so as to give the device a background very large. essential condition for regular descent
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
fertilizers and can alone prevent the formation of cages or arches
The apparatus according to the invention consists of a slot box closed by a wide fixed bottom consisting of two elements which leave between them a longitudinal slit.
These elements supporting the dispenser itself made up of a moving apron formed of contiguous plates forming a continuous flap slightly wider than the slot which exists in the bottom and which is thus closed t The plates are solid. - darized with the links of an articulated chain which 'serves to carry out the drive and which, circulating under the apron and in the slot, is thus isolated from the fertilizer placed in the box and protected against its corrosive action. of the mobile apron carry on each side teeth arranged obliquely curved blades, / or / whose ends slide in two longitudinal slots of varying heights provided at the base of the box .. in the front and rear walls:
Thanks to their obliqueness, the tines, animated like the apron with a continuous longitudinal movement, laterally reject the fertilizer through the corresponding slots.
The transport of the fertilizer from one end of the box to the other by the longitudinal movement of the apron is thwarted or prevented by a suitable device, preferably by a stationary comb mounted in the box and formed of a central frame carrying transverse bars which stop the fertilizer and which, together with the teeth of the distributor apparatus, produce shearing of the fertilizer clods effectively contributing to the disintegration of the latter
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
For the purpose of simultaneously sowing two different materials (fertilizer or grain) the trunk of the appa. reil-can be separated in two by a vertical partition, the lower part of which rests on the fixed comb.
The fertilizers or grains are respectively arranged in each of the boxes thus formed and each of the slots distributes the material contained in the corresponding box.
In this case, the device for adjusting the height of the dispensing slits may be provided so that the size of each opening is independent of the other, which makes it possible to separately adjust the quantities of each of the materials. distributed. the apparatus may also include a double distributor member, each part of which is similar to the device described above but has teeth on one side only. These organs, moving in opposite directions each ensure the distribution in one of the slots, and the fertilizer transport movements that each apron tends to perform in the direction of its travel destroy each other, achieving only a constant agitation of the 'fertilizer in the crate.
This arrangement also has the advantage of distributing the tensile force over two articulated chains, which makes it possible to use dimension members; they are normal, even for making distributors with very long spreading lengths.
This device can also be produced by using contiguous plates provided with teeth on one side only.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example a preferred embodiment of the object of the invention

Fig. 6 shows, in cross section, an apparatus comprising two independent distributing members ...
Fig. 7 shows, in plan, the two moving tables; of this device.
Fig. 8 is a perspective detail of the bottom control system.
The apparatus comprises a fertilizer box 1, the bottom of which is formed of two elements 2 between which a longitudinal slot 3 is formed; these two elements are vertically adjustable and their movements regulate the opening of two longitudinal orifices or slots 4 between these elements and the lower edge of the side walls of the box 5.
These vertical movements of the bottom relative to the box 1 are controlled by the rotation of an elbow shaft 6 mounted on two supports constituted by: hollow irons 7 serving as bearings.
The elements 2 support the upper strand of the distributor apron 9, the lower strand of which is located under the bottom of the fertilizer box. This apron is formed by the central plates 9 which form
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
a continuous strip and which are connected to the articulated elements 8 forming a propulsion chain which moves freely in the longitudinal groove 3 of the bottom. The continuous tape formed of plates 9 rests on the inner edges of the elements 2 and ensures the closure of the groove 3 thus separating the elements 8 of the articulated chain from the fertilizer box and protecting them against fouling and corrosion by fertilizer .
Two toothed pulleys (not shown) meshing with the articulation pins 10 of the elements 8 gui tooth and drive the articulated chain and by alite all the distribution apparatus to which it is connected. These pulleys are preferably arranged so as to allow a variation of their axis distance, this in order to give the moving apron the appropriate tension, The toothed pulleys receive their movement from the wheels of the apparatus by a suitable device, known per se. Rollers 11 mounted under the The apparatus supports the lower strand and prevents it from taking an exaggerated sag.
Certain plates 9 carrying lateral teeth or curved blades, / oblique stripes 12, / arranged either in front of the other one (fig. 3) or in a baffle (fig. 4) at suitable spacings; the ends of these teeth rest on the outer edges of the elements 2 of the bottom of the box and slide along the longitudinal openings
Inside the chest is mounted a fixed comb, the axis 13 of which carries straight or oblique teeth 14 (fig. 2);
this comb can be fixed invariably

in the boot or kept pressed against the moving apron by appropriate spring pushers
Finally, two longitudinal flaps 15 are fixed to the lower part of the apparatus on the two bottom elements 2 and cover the lower section of the apron, thus preventing the fertilizer from falling on it.
The device thus available allows the adjustment of the quantities of fertilizer spread in two ways:
a) by varying the height of the distribution slots. b) by varying the speed of the deck
The arrangements used also make it possible to adapt the device to the spreading of grains or fertilizers having very different physical characteristics a) by varying the obliquity of the teeth of the distributing member. b) by varying the arrangement of the teeth 12 on each side of the apron (face to face, in chine, with any offsets) permitting various combinations of the points of fall of the fertilizer at the front and at the front. back of the unit.
A longitudinal clcision 19 (shown in dotted lines in FIG. 1) can be placed in the box, so as to achieve the simultaneous distribution of two different materials placed in each of the boxes thus formed.
According to a variant of this embodiment, the single distributor apron could be replaced by two independent parallel members 18 driven.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
each by an articulated chain 16, 17 Each of these shelves carries a single row of lateral teeth ensuring the evacuât gion of materials through the corresponding orifice and the plates. your power plants are joined laterally so as to achieve the. closing of the boot and protection of articulated chains.
In some cases, the base consists of contiguous plates provided with teeth or curved blades on one side only.
To ensure a constant and regular distribution of the fertilizer under an adjustable flow and at the same time to be able to quickly empty the box, the bent shafts 6 are connected to each other by connecting rods 23 articulated on the cranks 24 fixed by collars with nuts 25 on the end of the shafts ± one of these ends is controlled by a hand operated lever 20 which moves on a toothed sector 26 fixed to the case 4,
On the recessed irons 7 are bolted hooks 27 supporting the shafts 6, the bottom is provided with ho .. rizontal grooves 21 for the passage of the shaft b and its longitudinal movement is prevented by the vertical gildes 22 fixed to the box.
Eh operating the lever 20 we obtain a vertical displacement of the bottom, all the more rapid as the elbow of the shaft moves away from the vertical, that is to say when the teeth are opened wide for emptying, while this movement is slow when the elbow of the shaft is near the vertical, which allows precise adjustment of the distribution
On the other hand, the assembly of the shaft in the recessed irons 7 and the removable hooks. 27 allows the background to be adjusted: in the event of accidental deformation. - the dispensing devices are animated preferred -
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
adjustment (fig. 7) of movements in the opposite direction, so that the movements of transporting the fertilizer mutually destroy each other.
One could also sow two different materials (fertilizer, grains, etc.) by providing the apparatus with a removable partition 19 a, as in the first embodiment described above (see fig. 6).
In some cases it is preferable to use curved tines instead of the inclined tines 12 so that the fertilizer is more easily pushed towards the distribution slots.
In the embodiments described above, the apron or aprons are arranged so as to rotate around toothed pulleys whose axes are horizontal * rate, one of the strands passed below the bottom of the box. But it is also possible to provide that the two strands of the apron can be located in the same horizontal plane inside the box and above its bottom, the gaidage being done at the ends of the latter by toothed pulleys with a vertical axis. or any other appropriate means,
It should be understood that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described above by way of example, and that the shape and arrangement of the shape and arrangement could be modified without departing from them. their various constituent bodies,
the elements supporting the mobile apron could. be arranged in any other way; the teeth 12 and the fixed comb can be made differently: the adjustable holes 4 could be made by
