La chaussure à trépointe connue jusqu'à présent comporte une trépointe placée sous la semelle de marche, piquée à la tige et présentant par rapport à la semelle de marche une couture appa- rente de part en part. Après que la semelle de marche est usée ou lorsqu'elle est détériorée, la couture piquée est détériorée éga- lement, soit par l'usure, soit par décomposition en cas de péné- tration de l'eau.
La présente invention a pour objet une chaussure à trépointe, spécialement du genre des bottes Mac Kay, dans laquelle la couture piquée est couverte,ce qui évite la détérioration des endroits sen- sibles de la chaussure et par concéquent une remise en état coûteu- se de celle-ci. Cette chaussure peut également'être fabriquée avec les machines ordinaires de sorte que léserais de fabrication sont beaucoup moindres que pour les chaussures connues à trépointe.
A cet effet, la trépointe de la chaussure forme une bande pliée longitudinalement, dont la couche supérieure est cousue le long du pli à la tige et à la seconde semelle de la chaussure et dont les bords sont cousus à la semelle de marche par la double couture.

Cette trépointe consiste, sui- vant la présente invention, en une bande pliée dans la longueur, faite de préférence en cuir.
La partie supérieure de cette bande est cousue le long du repli e au cuir de la tige et à la seconde semelle en 1, tandis que les bords superposés de la bande sont cousus à la semelle de marche. On place avantageusement entre les deux couches de la bande d une couche agglutinante faite par exemple en colle ou en poix qui empêche dans tous les cas l'ou- verture de ces couches. La couture piquée 1 est ainsi couverte de tous côtés, même après l'usure ou la détérioration de la se- melle de marche, et elle est ainsi mise à l'abri de l'usure et de la décomposition par l'humidité.
Une chaussure ainsi exécutée possède donc une durée d'exis- tance notablement plus longue qu'une chaussure à trépointe du genre connu. En outre elle peut être fabriquée au moyen de ma- chines ordinaires et être mise par conséquent sur le marché à un prix moindre.
Pour donner à la chaussure l'aspect d'une chaussure à tré- pointe (Goodyear), la seconde semelle peut être fendue avant le pincement et la mince partie grenue peut être collée comme semelle de couverture lorsque la chaussure est terminée.
