<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
A titre d'exemple, fig.
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

glee and t1StU'8E1 SiO, # being1Ú.8 producing a shimmering effect that catches the eye,
The invention also consists in the methods of mounting the apparatuses and their methods of application.
As can be seen in the drawing, the reflector serving as the constitution of these advertising devices is composed of a succession of irregular diamonds, FIG.
EMI1.4
1, OR of xêga..exs, fiS diamonds. 2, or by the combination. sound of both on the reflective marl, fig. 3, the sides of which form angles of reflection which may be equal or unequal, sharp or rounded.
These diamonds appear in hollow and in relief, and may be more or less elongated and combined between
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
them. also the reflectors could / be constituted by materials shaped in convergent or divergent angles equal or unequal, sharp or rounded, according to equal or unequal figures, combined or not between them, two different reflectors being able to be used for the establishment of the same table or object .
These drawings inscribed or formed between the angles or on the angles, which can be: square, spherical, half-spherical, oval ... in the shape of millet grains, diamond points, honeycombs, sticks, and, in principle, present all geometric figures in hollow or relief, or a combination of the two.
Some of these embodiments are shown in Figures 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
The angles themselves, regular or not, can receive a shaping such as striations, diamond points hammering of all shapes,
It is also possible to use reflectors affecting all of the figures described above, as well as wrinkles. various metallic, but not formed in angles.
The following can also be used as reflectors: the foil and the material called "diamondine" with or without celluloid coating.
Each of the reflectors described above can be used in all directions: vertical, horizontal, oblique, e to ....
The undulations or angles, in any direction they may be more or less accentuated or brought together in width and in depth,
The different shaping described or listed above are applicable to any briallante material, @
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
reflective or made like, polished or not, colored or not, printed or not, etc. and in particular 'all cathedral, prismatic, lenticular, bare or argonated glasses, in combination or not with metallic reflectors.
The effect obtained by these shaping may or may not be enhanced by iridescence, the application of powder pearls, paillatta's, or any shiny material.
Assemblies: the first type - the reflective elements described above may appear behind any transparent material, colored or not, or cut, with or without addition, behind the first transparent / colored plate or, õn, printed or not, the first plate representing any desired subjects, images or texts.
Fig. 12 front view, shows a plate 1, where the word THE, for example, appears in transparency, or cut out, either alone or in combination with a text or image in intaglio, relief or printing (fig. 14). ; the word THE appears with a shimmering reflection, thanks to a reflector
2 fixed behind; fig. 13 shows a vertical section of the apparatus seen in profile. At the place where the transparent part 1 is located, the reflector is fixed
2 or reflective or shimmering plate.
In 3, there is a bowl intended to hold it which will be glued or fixed by staples, crimped, or maintained by any suitable suitable means,
Between 1 and 2 there may be a transparent material, colored or not, or also in front of l in the manner of "enameling",
Instead of the bowl, all other fixing methods can be used.
It is obvious that instead of making a text or subject appear in transparency or cut out on a background or cut out of a transparent material
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
opaque, the said texts on subjects can be carried out in transparent or opaque on transparent.
2nd type of assembly.- We can fix in relief, or as an independent addition on the front of any painting or object, the luminous subject obtained in the different ways described above.
By way of example, FIG. 15 shows a plate bearing the word THE in laminate constructed by any means already indicated above, is fixed by any suitable means - suitable, gluing, claws, or crimped, etc ... highlighted on another plate which is carried by example any other text.
3rd type of assembly. The reflector will always appear behind the texts or images, as indicated above. but instead of being placed behind texts or images, it will be held in such a way that the reflecting part forms a more or less accentuated angle with the part intended to receive the text or the image.
In the latter case, we can introduce or not, in the space left free, any artificial light source.
In this case (fig. 16) seen in section, the apparatus made of any suitable material and manner, is established so that the reflecting part 2 forms an angle with the part carrying the text or the image 1.
We introduce in a slide the text or the image in cutout or transparenoe 1. In 4 is the roof consisting of a transparent material, colored or not, simple prismatic glasses, lenticulars, cathedrals, and transparent plastic materials, etc ...
The transparent or cut-out part can be combined with colored glass or not, simple glass or prismatic, lenticular or ornamented glass. The reflector will consist of the materials or shapes described above, and: any reflective material in general.
It may or may not be in combination with
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
all shaped glass against which it would be plated.
The light rays R pass through the transparent part 4 and are returned through the transparencies or cutouts of the plate 1, according to the indications of the arrows.
The part carrying the text or image, or that carrying the reflector can be movable around an axis 5 (Fig. 17) by any appropriate means; the dotted lines A, B, C, indicate the different angle openings that can compose 1 and 2,
Instead of joining directly, parts 1 and 2 can be separated by more or less inclined planes (fig, 18). 19 shows the apparatus seen in perspective.
Finally, the reflector 2 can be constituted by a mirror or any shiny, reflective plain surface.
In this case, the roof 4 will be made up of all glasses, colored or not, shaped, prismatic, lenticular, etc. The shaping of the glass is reflected on the mirror, and appears by reflection through the transparency or the cutout. page of part 1.
4th type of assembly. - Any material bearing the text or subject, decoration or attribute, is itself shaped in whole or in part with the figures described above, and partially represented, figures 1 to 11.
By way of example, fig. 20, the plate may be completely reflective, or only the part bearing the text or design.
The material supporting the shaping comes in all forms, framed or not.
5th type of assembly.- The reflectors described above can be applied to the constitution of letters
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
or independent moving subjects. The reflector will be fixed or embedded on the front or back by any suitable suitable means: -on a metal letter or any other material, for example.
The letter or the subject can be made luminous by a reflector matching the shape of the letter or object or made up of fragments of any suitable shape whose assembly will form the letter, the subject or the attribute, figure 21.
These devices can have all forms of containment in all appropriate materials, whether they are tables, signs, letters, numbers, attributes or objects, in particular: a) Mounting in frames of all shapes and sizes and dimensions and all appropriate raw materials; b) Combination with advertising boards of all shapes and sizes, metallic or cardboard or other already bearing in printing, stamping, or by any other process, any text or image, part of the text or an image showing through transparency or cutting , the reflector or reflectors described above.
Example.- Figure 14. The plate of figure 12 still bears the word THE appearing with a luminous or shimmering effect, but any text will appear in printing, gilding, stamping, in hollow or relief, or otherwise or according to a combination of these different processes, and without light effect.
The reflectors are fixed as follows: 1) By means of a simple gluing without rebate.
2) By means of a covering by sheet of tin or other material.
3), Behind the plaque bearing text or subject, at the place where the part (s) to be made brilliant is located
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
the reflector is fixed in an artificial rebate, obtained by stamping, gluing or any other process.
In the case of fig. 13 the curette can also cover the entire taleau or object.
It will be fixed by all appropriate means, eyelets, staples, gluing, fixing by paper tape, metal, etc ...
This mounting method is also applicable regardless of the shape of the object on which the reflector can be maintained by any suitable means according to each particular case.
These mounting methods are applicable whatever the contemplated mode of reflection. instead of the cuvette, the reflector can be maintained by a simple plate or sheet of metal or cardboard, or suitable material and the assembly formed by the material carrying the text or subject, the reflector and the back and possibly any sheet of complementary transparent material, will be maintained by eyelets, staples, paper tape, metal, wood frame, cardboard, etc ...
The suspension or the installation can be done by any suitable suitable means, rings, supports of all kinds, etc ...
The tables, letters, subjects, or reflectors described above can be made mobile or animated, by any suitable means: clockwork, electric movement, etc.
It is specified that it is possible to use alone or in combination with the devices described above, the reflectors forming the subject of the Belgian patent of April 9, 1919 N 379,738.
The above improvements are applicable:
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
Advertising in all its forms, by signboards, of all shapes and sizes, we have objects, cars, canvases for cafes or others, etc ...
At the decoration.
-And signage in all its forms.
All these applications in two forms: fixed and animated.
We will obtain an illusion of animation of the teate or subjects thanks to the interposition of wavy glasses, figs.
22-23, simple or combined with each other, placed in front of or behind the text or against the reflector, kept apart, away from the text or the reflective part, whatever the shape of the device used. These wavy glasses can carry the text themselves. The fluted glasses can be combined with each other, or with other prismatic glasses, pressed against them or at a distance from the text or the reflector.
These glasses can be combined, veneered or remote with any advertising picture, already bearing inscription or design in hollow, relief or printing.
We use all kinds of glasses, transparent, fluted, twisted or covered with geometric figures in this sense.
The billboards, boxes, may include on all or part of their outline a metal border or coating or a crimping with any suitable metals, to participate in the mounting of the reflectors in combination with the billboards described above. high, as well as for the assembly of billboards, any cardboard boxes.
