<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The present invention relates to the adaptation of a tubular screen placed in front of boilers with internal fires and passing through the combustion chamber of a fore-hearth in order to improve the circulation of water in the boilers. with indoor fires and thus increase the efficiency and vaporization of the unit in question.
Everyone knows that despite the undeniable advantages it has, the interior fireplace boiler has very poor water circulation.
In fact, if we carry out tests on a small glass boiler, we can very distinctly see the water circulation being established as shown schematically in figure I. It is in the air, only immediately above the hearths. , the release of the vapor bubbles is vertical, then a current is formed very distinctly by fleeing towards the rear of the boiler, to return to the front and to the sides of the hearth tubes. the space below the hearth tubes, is absolutely dead, there is no circulation, the sludge which is there agitated more or. less during a purge, are absolutely immobile.
Those who are used to boilers with indoor fires have already noticed that if a boiler of this type is quickly put under pressure quickly the lower part of the boiler will still be positively cold while the boiler pressure gauge,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
will already show several atmospheres; which furthermore indicates a complete absence of circulation in this place, little by little this water will end up heating up but this rise in temperature will come only by conduction of the liquid.
On the other hand, everyone knows the drawback of boilers with indoor fireplaces with regard to the possible increase in vaporization. Indeed for reasons of construction and ease of heating, one is very limited to give the hearth the surfaces which it would normally require.
Thus for a boiler with 100m2 of heating surface installed under average conditions :; it is only possible to vaporize 25 legs per M2 of heating surface of the boiler by burning very first choice braisettes, or to have recourse to the forced draft blowing under the grate, and to accept the drawbacks of this system.
With the current means of heating, the thermal efficiency of the boiler decreases the more the more it is overloaded. In fact, the heating surface is no longer sufficient to absorb all the calories supplied to it by the fireplace, and this results in an excessive temperature at the outlet of the boiler. It is not uncommon to meet installations where the temperature at the outlet of the flues reaches 450 and even more, and that all the calories go to waste through the chimney.
This is why, by placing a few additional square meters of heating surface at the most intense point of a fore-hearth, one will obtain not only a greater vaporization, but also a much better output, both in terms of circulation only as a quality of the combustion products, not to mention that their presence will lower the temperature of the combustion chamber, and thus increase the duration of the refractories?
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
With the device of placing the fireplace in front of the boiler, it is thus possible to increase the area of the grate as much as you want. The combustion chamber brought to a high temperature promotes good combustion.
Besides the increase in vaporization of the boiler itself, we will also have the vaporization of the tubes placed outside the boiler.
My device is made up of a series of vertical tubes placed in the combustion chamber of a firebox and connected to collectors, these collectors are themselves connected, on the one hand to the lower part of the boiler. , on the other hand in the upper body of water.
These tubes placed in an enclosure at very high temperature 1400 to 1500, will have a very intense vaporization, and therefore a most active circulation which will suck in the bottom of the boiler, establishing a new circulation in the boiler. .
The connection at the bottom of the boiler is made at different points to ensure maximum movement of the water.
In order to prevent heavy sludge from being carried along, sleeves will protrude 20 to 25 cm from the bottom. The high speed of arrival of steam in the upper body of water will annihilate the thwarted circulation of the start of the hearths in the current boiler.
