<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
L'ensemble du chargeur est ainsi plus étroit à la partie supérieure,et,par suite,on peut l'introduire sans tâtonnements dans le logement qui lui est réservé dans la crosse. Il est @ maintenu dans ce logement par un ergot 48 qui vient se placer dans un trou correspondant 49 de la paroi arrière du chargeur;
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
cet ergot 48 (fig.30) fait partie d'une pièce 50,tournant autour de l'axe fixe 51 et maintenue dans la position de la fig.20 par le ressort 53.On peut faire sortir l'ergot 48 du trou 49 en appuyant,à la partie postérieure gauche de l'arme (fig.21), sur le levier-poussoir 53 monté sur un axe 54 fixe sur la carcasse;
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
cune cartouche dans le chargeur,la culasse,resta ouverte,par- .ce qu'elle bute sur la tête de la pièce 471 qui fait saillie à ce moment sur son parcours.Lorsqu'il n'y a pas de chargeur en place dans la crosse,la culasse ne se ferme pas non plus tout à fait,car elle vient buter à l'arrière contre le bec 59 de la pièce 50.Pendant les mouvements de va et vient de la calasse,ce bec 59 coulisse normalement dans la rainure 60 de ..la. culasse (fig.IO);
Les dispositifs de visée comprennent un guidon et un cran de mire avec hausse mobile,Le guidon 61 (fig.1,22 et 23) comprend une embase 62 qui présente vers l'arrière une arête vive formée par l'intersection de deux surfaces planes et qui reste très nettement apparente,quelles que soient les condi- tions de l'éclairement,La partie supérieure (grain d'orge).du guidon est coupée obliquemende façon à apparaître toujours noire,et un capuchon mobile 63 permet de protéger le guidon;
Le crain de mire 64,de forme circulaire,est porté par la hausse 65 (fig.2p24 & 25) constituée par une plaque qui est graduée sur la faoe vue et qui coulisse vertioalmeent dana des rainures ad hoc de la culasse;elle est maintenue en position par une arête 66,portée par une pièce 67 et qui se loge dans des stries parallèles creusées à la surface antérieure de la hausse.La pièce 67 elle-même sert d'appui,par le bouton 33,au ressort 24 du percuteur,qui la maintient en place ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>

The invention oonoerne automatic pistols in which the movement of the movable breech causes, under the action of the reoul, various movements and effects such as in particular the ejection of the empty case, the reloading of the weapon supplied by a magazine placed in the hook, as well as the cocking of the firing pin, the trigger only being effected. by the shooter.

In these figures, T designates the carcass, 2 the barrel, 3 the movable cylinder head and 4 the stock. The movable breech 3 can slide along slides 5 which follow corresponding protrusions 6 of the carcass (fig. . 4); it is driven back by the effect of the recoil and brought forward by recuperator springs 7 and 8 which are charged during the recoil. These springs abut towards the rear on the carcass 1 and the larger 7 of the two springs is secured at the front with the movable yoke 3 by the key 9 which passes into the mortise 10 of the movable yoke and passes through the sleeve II fixed to the end of the spring 7; during movement, the key 9 slides in the grooves 12 (fig. 4) of the carcass.
Suppose a blow has just left.
The breech 3; by moving back, first drives the barrel 3 backwards which has, for this purpose, at the upper part, a projection 13 housed in a corresponding shaped opening 14 of the breech when the latter is closed (fig.7) .During this movement, the barrel slides on the guides 15 of the frame by the tenons 16 which it carries laterally and which have a section in the form of a parallelogram. After a certain distance, these tenons 16 descend into notches I7, connected with the guides 15 by an inclined ramp. The barrel thus descending by a certain quantity, the projection 13 is released. , of the mortise 14 and the barrel is fixed on the carcass and becomes independent of the movable breech. Laquel- the continues its backward movement towards the rear.
During this time, the ejector 18 (Fig.I5) attached
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
to the movable breech by the pin 19. around which it can turn, pulled back the empty sleeve D which it had ... hooked during the previous closing of the breech by its hook 20 penetrating into an ad hoc groove d The ejector is kept pressed on the sleeve by the spring 31.
As the barrel stops, while the breech continues its backward movement, the ejector extracts the casing from the barrel, then this empty casing abuts by its lower part against the part 22 (fig. 2) which it, tilts and thus releases it from the hook 20 of the ejector, The sleeve D is then projected through the opening 14, but it touches (fig.2) the rear edge of this opening, which drives it towards forward and prevents it from coming back towards the shooter and possibly injuring him.
In its recoil movement, the breech pulls with it behind the striker 23, the spring 24 of which is relaxed (position of fig. 14). This cylindrical striker, hollow at its rear part to house the spring 24 , carries, at its lower part, a notch 25 which erases, in passing, the part 26 of the trigger (as explained below) and hangs behind it when it rises under the action of the spring 27 (fig. .I3 and I4); thanks to this position, the firing pin is armed when the breech returns forward.
EMI4.1
During its backward movement, the mobile cylinder compresses the two recuperator springs, namely a large spring 7, initially easy to bend, which is fully compressed and lets the sleeve II come into contact with the hollow cylinder. 28 (fig. 2) and a second spring 8 housed in the hollow cylinder 28 which this cylinder compresses by sliding on the cylindrical rod 29 itself supported by a disc 30 on the casing 3.0th second spring does not intervene, d 'moreover, that in the case where the powder charge of the fired cartridge is particularly strong.
The breech having arrived at the end of its
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
At the rear, the cartridge which is located at the upper part of the magazine 31 is released from the latter under the action of the spring 32 (Fig. 17 and 18) and rises to the height of the barrel.
At this moment, under the action of springs 7 and 8, the cylinder head comes back forward and causes the following movements:
The striker 23 being hooked by the notch 25, cannot return forward and as the breech presses by its button 33 on the spring 24, it compresses the latter, so that, its movement completed, the various parts occupy the position Figures 2 and 13.
The upper cartridge of the magazine, coming up to the barrel and pushed by the part 34 of the movable breech enters chamber 0; the breech then pushes the cannon 2 in the opposite direction, that is to say forwards and the tenons 16 disengage from the notches 17 and come onto the guides 15, at the same time as the projection 13 of the barrel fits into the. mortise. 14 of the breech The barrel is then in the firing position and it is locked in this position by the movable breech.
During this time, the cartridge came to be lodged in chamber C and the nozzle 20 of the ejector 18 hooked it by the groove d of its sleeve D. If, for some reason (for example, if the magazine is empty) no cartridge has been introduced into the chamber, the ejector, under the action of the spring 21, remains in the position of fig. I6 and sits above the weapon; we are thus a- verti.au mere appearance of it, that the pistol is not loaded.
It should be noted that if the cylinder head had remained a few millimeters from its closed position, thanks to
EMI5.1
the difference in level of the guldan In and the bottom of the 01100- ches 17, the barrel would be below its normal firing position and the firing pin would not be in front of the primer which is in the center of the cartridge case; in this case, even by acting on the trigger, we would not make the
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
ooup: this is one of the pistol's safety devices.
Let us suppose the weapon ready for firing, that is to say effectively loaded and the breech closed: all that is left is then to act on the trigger, the mechanism of which is shown in detail in fig. I3 and 14.
The parts, assumed in the position of Figure 13, include: 'the actual trigger B movable around the axis 35 and brought forward by the spring 36, and three other parts 37, 26 and 38 having the particular shapes indicated in fig. 13. The part 37 is constituted by a lever articulated at 39 on the trigger B and sliding by the slide 40 on a pin or prisoner 41 fixed on the frame I.
The part 38 is a safety part rotating around the fixed pivot 42. In the position of fig.I3, this part 38 has engaged by its projection 43 the part 26 and prevents it from descending and abandoning the notch 25 of the striker; consequently, the start of the shot is impossible as long as the part 38 has not been pushed back by means of the lever 37 by acting on the trigger B. When the trigger is pressed, the parts of the trigger mechanism are brought into the position of fig. 14. that is to say that the part 38 is erased by turning around 42, the part 26 is lowered by compressing the spring 27, the notch 25 is released and the firing pin 23 falls below the action of its spring 24 which relaxes.
As the bolt moves back, the head of part 38 slides into the groove ($ 7601 FIG.IO) .At the very rear of the breech, this groove is deep enough to accommodate the head of part 38 and let the key rise. Further forward, on the contrary, the groove 801 'keeps the part 38 lowered, which allows the striker, brought back by the breech, to erase part 26 by its notch. 35; but when the breech has finished its rearward travel and comes back forward, part 38 is straightened and the parts resume the position of fig. 13.
They resume, moreover, this position even if the

The shooter continues to squeeze the trigger B and keep it back, under the action of spring 27.
As can be seen, this part 38 constitutes a safety device, since the shot can only start if the trigger B is actually pressed.
Another absolute safety device is constituted by the pin 44 (Fig.I, 2 and 19) which crosses the entire weapon in a cylindrical housing 45 (fig; 3) in which it can slide; it is held there in two positions determined by the disc 30 of the recuperating springs, which disc carries a small lug e penetrating into the corresponding notches e 1 of the pin 44. For one of the two positions, the firing position, the pin 44 has the groove 46 at the tab 46 of the trigger, the movement of which is free; for the second position, on the contrary - safety position - the heel 46 abuts against a non-indented part of the pin 44 and the trigger is immobilized so absolute.
All the above concerns firing any cartridge from the magazine. Firing the last cartridge has certain peculiarities:
The magazine 31 is introduced into the stock 4 through the lower part of the latter. Its cross section (fig. I8) has a large width at the base, so as to admit two rows of cartridges placed in staggered rows, then it narrows upwards, so that the cartridges pass successively and without the possibility of jamming on a single row.
This arrangement allows a larger number of cartridges to be accommodated in the height of the hook, which are pushed upwards by the spring 32, using the pusher 47 in two parts having the special shape indicated in the drawing. .
The entire loader is thus narrower at the top, and as a result, it can be introduced without trial and error into the housing reserved for it in the butt. It is held in this housing by a lug 48 which is placed in a corresponding hole 49 in the rear wall of the charger;
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
this lug 48 (fig. 30) is part of a part 50, rotating around the fixed axis 51 and held in the position of fig. 20 by the spring 53. The lug 48 can be released from the hole 49 by pressing, at the left rear part of the weapon (fig.21), on the push-lever 53 mounted on a pin 54 fixed on the frame;
this tax carries the small lever 55 which acts on a heel 56 of the part 50. One can therefore, thus, release the magazine at will and unload the weapon. @
But, on the other hand, the magazine falls by itself due to its weight, when it no longer contains a cartridge, thanks to the pusher 47 (fig. I7 & 18) carrying a projection 57 which gradually rises. as the cartridges are fired, and which arrives, when there is no longer any in the magazine, opposite the hole 49 from which it drives out the lug 48.The pusher 47 is in two parts 47 and 471 sliding vertically one inside the other, a spring constantly tending to lift the part 471 on the part 47.0th device allows, when the part 47 comes to the top of its stroke, to abut on the narrowing of the charger 31,
to drive out the last cartridge using the part 471 which can still continue its upward stroke. It is part 471 which carries the lug 57. A small pin allows the two parts to be joined at will 47 and 471 before putting the magazine in place, Under these conditions and although the assembly can still raise the last cartridge in the breech, the lug 57 remains very slightly above 59 and the empty magazine remains in the cylinder head. The weapon is thus prevented from falling, for example during exercise.
Another exercise arrangement relates to the punch and aims to immobilize it when firing the pistol without a cartridge. To this end, the ejector, which is then in the position of fig. I6 , has a special hook 58 which retains the firing pin and immobilizes it, even if the trigger is pressed; in the position of fig. 15, this hook 58 in no way hinders the movement of the firing pin.
It should be noted that when there is no longer any

One cartridge in the magazine, the breech, remained open, because it came up against the head of part 471 which protrudes at this moment on its path. When there is no magazine in place in the butt, the breech does not close completely either, because it abuts at the rear against the spout 59 of the part 50.During the back and forth movements of the calasse, this spout 59 slides normally in the groove 60 of ..la. cylinder head (fig.IO);
it is lowered when the magazine is in place because the lug 48 bears on the hole 49 of the magazine. If there is no magazine in place, the nozzle 59 rises and stops the breech, when it abuts at the rear end of the groove 60. We can, moreover, lower this nozzle 49 by pressing the push-lever 53 by hand, which makes it possible to close the breech. close the breech by inserting a full magazine.
The sighting devices comprise a front sight and a rear sight with movable rear sight, The front sight 61 (fig. 1,22 and 23) comprises a base 62 which presents towards the rear a sharp edge formed by the intersection of two flat surfaces and which remains very clearly visible, whatever the lighting conditions, The upper part (barley grain) of the handlebar is cut obliquely so as to always appear black, and a movable cap 63 protects the handlebars ;
fig. 23 shows this cap in the lowered position (solid lines) and in the raised position (broken lines.)
The crain de mire 64, circular in shape, is carried by the rear sight 65 (fig.2p24 & 25) constituted by a plate which is graduated on the front sight and which slides vertically in ad hoc grooves of the breech; it is maintained in position by a ridge 66, carried by a part 67 and which is housed in parallel grooves hollowed out on the front surface of the rear sight. The part 67 itself serves as a support, by the button 33, for the spring 24 of the firing pin , which holds it in place;
its object is not only to fix the rise in its various positions, but to mask the opening which would appear below the rise when it is raised.
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
By removing the rear sight and part 67, the firing pin and its spring can be removed, without dismantling the pistol.
A goal lighting device (fig. 26) consists of a tube 68 which is fixed under the frame, parallel to the barrel and which contains a small removable electric lamp, which is turned on by means of the contacts 69 by pressing on the trigger B. At its front part, this tube carries two cross-shaped slots 70, defining a light ray parallel to the barrel and projecting a small spot of light on the goal.
The handle VI (fig. 27) is formed by a simple sheet of steel folded over on itself, so as to take the section shown in fig. 37 and envelop the butt. It holds on the butt. by elasticity and thanks to the ag grafes 72. It can be covered on the outside with leather or other suitable material.
The holster consists of a metal frame 73 (fig. 28 and 29) covered with an appropriate material and enclosing the entire pistol, except the handle which must always remain visible and accessible. The door 74 can be moved laterally around the hinges 75; it is normally held open by suitable springs and retained, in the closed state, by a hook which can be released by pressing the push-button 85.
This holster can be transformed into a shoulder support device to allow very precise shooting. For this purpose it carries two rods or extensions 76 rotating around hinges 77 mounted on part 78. These extensions 76 'can , thus, either fold up along the case, or come in its extension, parallel to one another, when the part 78 is fixed at the end of the case on the ouor 79.
This fixing is obtained as follows: the part 78 is articulated on the nut 79 by a hinge 80 whose axis is perpendicular to the axes of the hinges 77. This nut 79 receives a screw 8 which freely passes through the part 78 with
<Desc / Clms Page number 11>
interposition of a very strong spring 82 between the head of the screw 80 and the part 78, which spring normally keeps the part 78 pressed against the nut 79, but allows a slight rotary movement of these two parts around the hinge 80.
To use the assembly as a support for the shoulder, the extensions 76 are brought in as an extension of the case by causing them to turn around the hinges 77, the bottom of the stock is engaged between the guides 84 and it is put in place. the spacer 83 which maintains the extensions 76 in this position, as it serves, moreover, to maintain them in the folded position. One can then, while holding the pistol in the hand as usual, support the holster on the shoulder, which ensures the aim; when the shot starts, the pistol is raised under the action of the recoil and it is at this time that the spring 82 intervenes to allow a slight movement of the extensions 76 relative to the case and absorb some of the force of the recoil.
