L'ensemble du mécanisme et du réservoir est fixé et sus- pendu un couvercle 4 et logé dans l'enveloppe 1, comme on le voit bien fig. 1;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Automatic dispenser for small doses of liquid,
The object of the invention is an automatic dispenser, operated by the introduction of a coin, and arranged to supply small amounts of liquid as small as doses of ink for pens. gasoline for lighters, perfumes, etc ...
± * apparatus comprises, in the known manner, a coin infeed corridor, an operating mechanism which moves the coin to bring it to its chute, and a dispensing mechanism actuated by this movement. vement of the coin.
The device which is the subject of the invention is princi. palement characterized by the fact that the distributor is constituted by a movable metering capacity which is normally held by a spring in a filling position in which it communicates directly with a feed liquid reservoir - ( and possibly with the atmosphere

and which is moved by the control mechanism so as to be cut off from communication with the liquid reservoir at the same time as it is placed in communication with the tubing or the delivery system (while remaining or being

provided with means 2 for fixing it to a supporta in the example shown, it has been assumed that the device is fixed to a wall or a wall and these fixing means are constituted by legs 2; the bottom of the envelope constitutes the box for the reception of coins and a movable bottom 3 fixed for example by via * will allow this coin to be withdrawn from time to time * Of course, if the device was installed on a table, the fixing means would be modified accordingly and the envelope would include a drawer with a lock for receiving coins,
The whole of the mechanism and of the reservoir is fixed and suspended from a cover 4 and housed in the casing 1, as can be seen clearly in fig. 1;
the cover is held in place by screws
5 uniting the rim of the cover to the upper edge of the casing 1. the system comprises a reservoir R of for example semi-cylindrical shape in horizontal section (FIG. 3). Its flat wall is welded to a support plate 6 which carries not only the tank but also the various parts of the mechanism this plate is extended upwards at 6 'above the upper bottom 7 of the tank, and this extension 6 is welded or otherwise fixed to the internal face of the cover 4 so that the whole assembly is suspended from said cover by this plate 6.
On the outer face of the plate 6 is fixed, by welding or otherwise, a passage 8 for the descent of the coins, which are introduced through a slot 9 made in the cover 4 above the passage 8; the coin such as m is retained by the folded edges 8 'of the corridor 8 and rests on a lever 18 which enters the corridor through a slot of the corresponding edge 8'. A rod 10 with an operating button 11 is carried and can slide and rotate at 12 in the cover 4 and at 13 in a lower horizontal plate 6 "formed by the curved lower part of the plate 6.
On this rod 10 is pinned in 14 a tab 15 curved in 15 '
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
to hang the coin m lodged in its passage 8; a spring 16 interposed between the plate 6 "and the hub 15" of the tab 15, tends both to maintain the latter in its upper position as shown in FIG. 1, and to apply the hook 15 'against the bottom of the corridor 8 by rotation in the hold of the arrow: (fig # 3) around the axis of the rod 10. An inclined ramp 17 is fixed to the plate 6 for cooperate with the tab 15 when the latter is raised upwards, so as to separate the hook 15 'from the bottom of the corridor when the tab 15 is in its upper position (fig. 1).
If the operating button 11 is lowered, the tab 15 slides on the inclined ramp 17 which lets it gradually rotate around the axis of the rod 10 until the hook 15 'comes to rest against the bottom of the lane 8 to subsequently engage with the edge of the coin mr.
The continued lowering of the operating button 11 and of the rod 10 therefore has the effect of sliding the coin downwards by pushing the lever 18 and causing it to pivot around the pivot 19 fixed to the plate 6 /. The proud 18 is guided and its extension 18 is connected by means of a connecting rod 20, to a lever 21 freely pivoting around the pivot 22 fixed to the plate 6; oe lever 21 is arranged to operate the rod 23 of the distributor, - The distributor itself is constituted by an elongated cylinder 24 in which the assembly of two pistons 25 and 26 carried by the same rod 23 can move. ; a spring 27 useful on the threaded plug 28 closing the cylinder at its lower part, tends to maintain the double piston in its upper position shown in FIG. 1.
The cylinder 24 communicates with the interior of the reservoir R by a small section of tube 29 which passes through the wall of the cylinder, the plate 6 and the peroi of the reservoir 1 = communication port 29 is placed just below the cylinder. piston 25; on the other hand, the -cylinder 24. communicates, by
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
a hole 30 disposed below the second piston 26, with a small tube 31 which ends in the body of a valve 32 disposed outside the casing * The annular capacity ±, between the rod 23 and the cylinder 24 between the two pistons 25 and 26, serves as metering capacity.
In normal times, that is to say in the position shown in fig. 1, this capacity @c is therefore filled with liquid from the reservoir R through the orifice 29; so that the air contained in the capacity c does not oppose its filled-. wise $ one can provide a tube 33, shown in phantom fig.l, opening into the open air above the level of the reservoir.
The operation is obvious After having introduced the coin of the desired type into slot 9, push-button 11 is pressed; the coin m is lowered by the bow. chet 15 'and rotates lever 18 which also rotates lever 21 and lowers the assembly of pistons 25 and 25. The communication of the capacity ± with 29 is broken while it is established with 30, The dose of liquid contained in this capacity then flows into the tube 31 and, from there, into the internal chamber 32 of the delivery valve 33.
This valve, shown in section (FIG. 4) is preferably provided with a dropper nozzle 34, the communication between 32 and 34 being normally closed by a screw needle 35 subjected to the action of a return spring. 36 which keeps the needle closed; by turning the needle screw by means of the operating button 37, the valve is opened and the dose of liquid which fills it flows in a thin stream or drop by drop through 34. In the case where the dose of liquid would be greater than the internal capacity 32 of the tap 33, it is possible to provide a tube 38 communicating with 32 and opening into the open air, to contain the excess which will flow out as soon as the needle is opened.
It will be noted that the casing 1 has a longitudinal slot 39 to allow the body of the valve 33 to pass through when the assembly of the reservoir and the mechanism is inserted into the casing.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
± * apparatus makes it possible to collect liquid such as gasoline in a lighter, or ink in a stylograph or perfume * But there are in particular stylographs in which the filling is done by suction by maneuver of a pen of the stylograph and it would therefore be impossible with stylographs of this kind to fill them by means of the nozzle 34.
To fill such stylographs, the following device can be added to the outside of the envelope 1, This device consists (: freezes 6) of a small common funnel 40! - *
EMI6.1
quant, by hollow arms 4lt. 411 and by an axis #eux :: 'ip.GúV'ant to rotate in a fixing arm p, with a small test tube preferably of glass 43; by bringing the funnel 40 below the nozzle 34 and by opening the needle by its button 37, after having operated the apparatus as previously described, the dose of liquid will collect in the test tube 43 in which it is will be able to draw it. After use of this device, it can be rotated around the pivot 42 to fold it down by 08té as seen in phantom at 40 ', 43' so as to release the nozzle 34.
The tank will preferably be provided with a level indicator which can be arranged as follows. A glass tube 44r placed precisely behind the slot 39 of the casing and visible through the latter, communicates by a tube 45 with the interior of the reservoir at 46.
