Appareil de signalisation automatique.
La présente- invention a pour objet des perfection- nements apportés aux signaux.
Les principaux objets de l'invention sont les suivants: le) D*établir un signal automatique pour la cir- culation dans les rues, qui soit disposé pour exposer alter- nativement des signaux, tels que "HALE" et MARCHE", les intervalles séparant les périodes d'exposition dés signaux étant réglés d'une manière unif orme ;

Automatic signaling device.
The object of the present invention is to improve the signals.
The main objects of the invention are: the) To establish an automatic signal for traffic on the streets, which is arranged to alternately display signals, such as "HALE" and ON ", the intervals separating the exposure periods of the signals being set in a uniform manner;
2) To establish an improved signaling mechanism, having these advantages, which is simple and economical as a construction, and which is not liable to be easily disturbed.
Other objects of the invention, and objects relating to construction details, will become apparent from the detailed description which follows.
The various objects of the invention are achieved by the organs and means described below. The invention is

clearly defined and claimed sequel.
A construction which constitutes a preferred embodiment of the invention is clearly shown in the accompanying drawings which form part of the description, and in which.
Fig. I is a perspective view of the improved signal established according to the invention;
Fig.2 is 'a detail, partly in vertical section, along a line corresponding to line 2-2 of the figs'; 3 and 4;
Fig. 3 is a vertical section taken along a line corresponding to line 3-8 of FIG. 4, the upper end of the shaft and the upright being broken;
Fig. 4 is a horizontal section taken along a line corresponding to the broken line 4-4 of FIG. 3;
Fig. 5 is a detail, partly in vertical section, showing the drive pinion in engagement with the star wheel, the members being about to complete a displacement maneuver;
Fig. 6 is a diagram of the electrical connections;
Fig. 7 is a detail, in vertical section, showing details of the electrical connections;
In the drawings, like reference numerals designate the same members in all the figures, and the sections are taken looking in the direction of the small arrows which are at the ends of the cut lines.
In these drawings, the apparatus is provided with a box or casing I constituting a base, and having a door, 2 provided with a lock 3. so that only authorized persons have access to the mechanism which is located. inside the box.
Inside the boot is a base 4 carrying a tubular pillar 5 at the upper end of which is a lamp 6. The tubular shaft 7 is mounted so as to rotate on the pillar 5, and carries the lantern- or lamp mount 8, as well as the signaling member 9 bearing @

The shaft is driven by a stepping movement being provided with a star wheel 18 which engages with the cleat 19, mounted on the control pinion 20, as the pinion rotates, which ensures a stepped rotation movement of the shaft. The cleat 19 is preferably a roller so as to minimize friction. The drive pinion 20 is connected to the motor 21 by means of a gear train designated generally by 22, the gear train being such that the displacement of the signal is suitable.
