<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Cette machine comporte un écorceur fixe -a- et une griffe ou un entraineur tournant -i-.L"écorcuer -a- est monté sur le bâti fixe-q- de la machine;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
A,la griffe est largement ouverte par les cames -1- et se déplace à l'état ouvert sur l'écorceur -a-.Dès qu'elle a atteint la posi- tion B,elle s'est déjà refermée brusquement pour saisir le bout de la tige dépassant de l'écorceur.En continuant son mouvement;

Wicker debarking machine
The object of this invention is a wicker debarking machine in which the debarking rod is pulled through a spring debarker by a claw disposed on a rotating wheel and which opens and closes automatically *
A machine of this type has already been proposed in which the claw grasps the rod before the debarker, to introduce it and pull it through a debarker comprising a spring stirrup with two knives at its ends which touch each other. But the desired goal cannot be achieved with the proposed machine.
As in this machine, the rod during the introduction into the debarker should overcome the force of the springs of the stirrup which forms the bark, this rod, due to its flexibility, will not open the debarker but will miss it.On the other hand, an entry of the rod into the debarker, if one wanted to make it with the help of the hand, would only take place when the ros end of the rod would have already considerably exceeded the 'debarker, because it is only at this moment that the rod occupies the angular position, in which it can enter the debarker, since this one is located nothing'. outside the path of the claw. , the big end, which is the most
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
here's precious stalk would not be debarked. 'Moreover,
the proposed machine has the drawback that the peeler, which never opens, would quickly become engorged with the peeled oorce, so as to prevent any continuation of work before having removed the bark by hand.
This disadvantage is further accentuated by the inclined position of the debarker.
All these drawbacks are eliminated in the machine according to the present invention, in which the wicker rod is only gripped by the claw after the latter has passed the debarker, so that the rod is pulled out. this is made possible by the fact that the debarker is in the path of the claw, which protrudes the debarker when open, to close and grab the big end of the rod immediately behind the debarker which holds it. Engaging the debarker by the peeled bark is quite impossible in the machine according to the present invention, because at each revolution of the wheel, the the debarker opens and closes automatically,
so that all the bark between the jaws comes free and falls off. This is further aided by the fact that the mouth of the barker is directed vertically downwards.
One of the peculiarities of the invention consists on the other hand in the special formation of the jaws of the debarker constituted by round irons, which can, if necessary, be surrounded with rubber, to avoid any deterioration of the wood. .
In addition, according to this invention, the debarker is formed in such a way that its pressure on the rod can be adjusted at will, in a simple and rapid manner, according to the softness of the material to be debarked.
Further features of the invention are the special formation and arrangement of the opening and closing mechanisms of the claw and the debarker.

The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, shows one of the embodiments of this invention,
Fig. 1 is a side view, Fig. 2 an end view of the machine,
Fig. 3 a front view of the debarker on a larger scale. And
Fig. 4 a view from below of the debarker according to fig. 3
This machine comprises a fixed debarker -a- and a claw or a rotating drive -i-.L "debarker -a- is mounted on the fixed frame-q- of the machine;
while the claw-i- is placed on a wheel -s- mounted on the control shaft -r-. Therefore, the debarker is on the path of the claw.The debarker and the claw are made in the shape of pliers, The opening of the mouth of the debarker is directed vertically downwards The opening and closing of the debarker and the claw are effected by the cams -f- and -1- mounted on the shaft -r-, the cams -f- intended for the opening of the debarker participating in the rotation of the shaft, while the cams-1- intended for the opening of the claw are fixed and connected for this purpose to the frame -q- by arms -q1-At the ends of the branches-b- articulated in -g-, of the baror- in forrie of pincer-a-,
coil springs -h- are connected which tend to close the peel. By moving the adjustment screws -hl- in the stanchions -q "" -, it is possible to adjust the tension of the springs-h- and the pressure on the debarker branches -b- are, on the other hand, articulated rods or connecting rods -c-, the other ends of which are articulated on levers-d- pivoting in -e-. levers oscillate under the action of the finger cams -f- so as to bring the debarker into the open position, by means of the connecting rods -o- and against the ao- ao- tion of the springs -h-. After the finger has passed the discs -f-, the springs-h- return the debarker to the closed position and the levers -d- to their initial position.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
On the ramps of the cams -1- slide pushers -k, m- participate in the movement of the wheel -s- and whose outer ends are articulated on the branches -il- of the claw formed in the form of a clamp. k- move in slides -s - of the wheel-s- and are subjected to the action of coil springs-n- which tend to close the claw.
These springs -n- are hooked to one or the other tooth of the racks -o-, which makes it possible to adjust the closing pressure of the claw -i-, The cam ramps -1- move the tappets - k- cpntre the action of the springs -n-, so that the.
claw -i- is open-The cam ramps have a shape such that as soon as the pushrods -k- have passed the largest diameter of the cams, position in which the opening of the claw reaches its maximum, the pushrods return in their initial position and consequently the closing of the slit -i- take place suddenly and instantaneously, under the action of the springs -n-, For this purpose, the cam has a radial face connecting the highest point at the lowest point of its surface, the machine is preferably controlled by an electric motor.
As can be seen in particular in FIG. 3 and 4, the jaws of the bark -a- consist of horizontal arms -a'- fixed to the branches -b- and having round bars -a "- at their free ends -a" - directed vertically downwards and which can be reopened with rubber The arms -a ', a'- and the bars -a ", a" are generally kept in contact with each other by the action of the springs -h-. The horizontal arms -a'- bear on their upper face of the guide plates -a "'- inclined upwards and outwards. These plates are used to receive the large end of the wicker rod to be debarked. When the debarker opens, the rod falls between the bars -a "- which grab it and hold it when the debarker closes.
The debarker is only opened for a short time each time, so that the rod does not have time to fall completely through.
As can be seen in the dotted line in fig. 1, my can provide at the front of the machine, a table-p- on which the
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
peel rods, to bring them from there into the debarker of the machine.
The operation of this machine is as follows, We start it, we take a rod from the table-p- and we place it by its big end between the guide plates-a "" -, so that it rests on the horizontal arms -a'-during the rotation of the shaft -r-the jaws-a ', - a "- of the debarker -a- move apart, so that the rod resting on the arms -a'- falls between the bars -a "- which grip it, because immediately after its opening, the debarker is closed by the springs -h-. In the position
A, the claw is widely opened by the cams -1- and moves in the open state on the debarker -a-. As soon as it has reached position B, it has already closed abruptly to grip the end of the rod protruding from the debarker. Continuing its movement;
it pulls the rod through the latter, which has the effect of peeling the bark from the rod. When the claw has reached its lower position, it reopens and the rod falls to the ground under the machine. when opening the debarker, the bark which may be found there falls before the introduction of another wicker stem.
