Fig.l, est une vue en plan de la grille.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Shaker grid with frame for boiler rooms
The invention relates to screens provided with a movable slag removal screen and which can be moved longitudinally back and forth by means of a rod projecting out of the hearth. The invention consists in that the supporting surfaces of the grid, held by the supporting cross member of the grid, are formed in a circular arc, so that during the shaking movement removing the slag from the grid. the grid, it is moved back and forth, both horizontally and vertically.
The invention further relates to the arrangement of the slag removal grid, to involve it - which is' connected to form a whole with the frame grid - on the one hand, to the movement. of shaking in horizontal and vertical direction and on the other hand, to make possible - in its position realizing the complete opening of the chute for the fuel '- its brought into the contour presented by the frame grate. This results in the possibility of having a smaller oven space, all other conditions being equal.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The drawing represents one embodiment of the grid. Fig.l, is a plan view of the grid. Fig. 2, is a section taken along the line A-A of FIG. 1. Figs.
3, 4 and 5, show sections along line B-B of FIG. 1, with different positions of the slag removal grid.
The R frame grille has walls sloping inwards. According to the invention, the lower surfaces S of the frame walls, which rest on the support bar P, are formed in an arc of a circle. Below the edge of the opening for the grid frame, a guide K is connected with the latter and, in this guide, is mounted, so as to be able to slide therein a slag removal grid V1 'V2 to two or more parts. The parts of this slag removal grid are arranged in a staircase with respect to each other when they fill the interior opening of the grid chasis. The position of the upper part V2 of the upper slag removal grid is limited inwards by a Z stop.
The lower part V1 of the slag removal grid is provided with a shaking rod or slide T and its movement is communicated to the upper part V2 in such a way that the staves 1 and 2, arranged at the edges of the parts V1 and V2 are made to serve as reciprocating stops.
The spool rod T can be coupled to the grid chas- sis R. For this purpose, they are arranged on a shield r. connected with the grid frame, brackets r 'in which a latch s can be moved transversely to the direction of movement of the rod T. On the lower side, the latch a has a recess s' (fig. 4 and 5 ).
If the lock is positioned so
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
that its greedily s' is above the rod T, which passes through an opening in the shield r of the grid frame, the rod T can be lifted, to bring its tooth o. from the front side of the shield r to the rear side of it (fig. 3). If then, the latch has moved in such a way that its lower side is against the rod T, the latter is coupled to the grid body, so that the latter must follow the movements of the rod T.
The coupling is achieved by the fact that, on the one hand, the tooth o of the rod T and their connection with the part V1 (which / is relatively maintained by the part V2 standing against the stop ± $, ensures the simultaneous movement of the rod and the grid bodies in the horizontal plane, and that on the other hand, the rod, T is coupled with the grid body in the vertical direction, in the shield recess r, by the latch s.
The operation of this provision is as follows:
If the rod T is connected to the grid body in the above-described manner, the grid body can be moved forward and backward, as well as to the side. But at the same time, the grid body is also moved up and down, due to the fact that the supporting surfaces S in the form of an arc of a circle slide on the grid cross member. ,
In order to carry out the coarse elimination of the slag in whole or in part, the coupling between the rod T and the body of the grid R is undone. For this, it is necessary that the lock has, again been moved in such a way that its Obviously, it is placed above the rod T.
This can then with its tooth o be raised above the lower edges of the shield recess r ..
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The displacement of the. rod T then leaves the grid body unaffected and only acts on the slag removal grid as follows: When the rod T moves in the direction of arrow x (fig. 3 ) part V1 is first moulted on its own. If it is moved to the underside of part V2, this part, as a result of the cooperation of the stops 1 & 2, takes part in the movement and finally the entire opening of the frame of the grid body is released (Fig. 5 ).
When the rod T moves in the opposite direction, the part V1 alone is first moved inside the grid body. She then leads the party
V2, through the action of stops 1 and 2 which come into play in this direction, until the part
V2 arrives against the, stop z. In this position, parts V1 and V2 have completely offset the openings of the grid body. When this final position of the part V1 is reached, the tooth o of the rod T has reached the inner side of the shield r, so that the rod T can be coupled with the grid body in the manner previously described.
