<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Device applicable to a motorcycle to support it at rest.
The object of the invention is a device intended to be applied to a motorcycle to support it while it is at. rest.
The drawing appended hereto is shown by way of example an embodiment of said device.
Figure 1 is a front view, Figure 2 a side view.
The device is fixed to the frame of the motorcycle between the engine and the rear wheel, to the lower part of the flanges carrying the engine.
Looking at fig 2 of the drawing it must be assumed that on the right is the motor 1 fixed to the flanges 2, on the left the gearshift fixed under the support plate 3 and further on the left, the rear wheel. The device consists of a curved sheet metal trestle 4, able to rotate about a transverse axis 5, fixed to the lower part of the flanges 2 supporting the motor.
It further comprises a rod 6 articulated to the upper part of an ear 7 fixed to the easel, which rod, following the movement of the ... horse, slides vertically into an opening made in the support plate 3 and limits,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
as can be seen in fig 2 the degree of opening of the easel, by means of the head which is fixed to the top of the rod 6, which comes to rest on the support plate 3 when the easel is open .
A coil spring 8 fixed on the one hand, at point 9, to the rod 6 and on the other hand, at point 10, to the bridge 4-7 has the constant tendency to bring the points 9 and 10 together and it relaxes when - that the easel rotates around the shaft 5, in one or the other of the two extreme positions shown in fig 2, thus bringing to rapid movement the chevlaet 4 and the rod 6 in one or more in the other of the two positions shown, that is to say carrying the easel 4 and the rod 6 or else in the open position represented by solid lines, or in the closed position represented by dotted lines.
Coil spring 8 automatically pushes parts 4 and 6 into either of the two extreme positions when the point of articulation of rod 6 to bridge 4 is to the right or left of the junction line of points 9 and 10 assuming the motorcycle is placed on its. support device, ie on the open easel; to close the latter it suffices to push the machine forward; the horse, rubbing on the ground, rotates around its axis 5 and rejoins point 12. At this moment the articulation point of parts 4 and 6 which earlier was to the left of the junction line of points 9 and 10 passes to the right of this line and all parts pass in the position shown in dotted lines.
To open the easel, that is to say to bring it into the position allowing the motorcycle to be supported, it suffices to press with your foot on the lower end of the easel so as to push the latter against the ground, then push the machine back until the easel is fully open.
To fix the easel in the open or closed position

in the support plate 13 is pivoted near the opening in which the rod 6 slides a lever 13 provided with an eccentric disc 14. By maneuvering the lever horizontally, the disc of the latter enters the notches 15 of the rod 6 and thus stops the parts in the open or closed position.
