<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

The present invention relates to the tobacco industry and more specifically to packets of cigarettes in boxes. And this, whatever the standard number of cigarettes contained in these box packages.
Cigarette packs that open with one hand are known and various embodiments commonly exist. However, all of these do not provide the effect produced by this invention and have a number of considerable disadvantages.
Indeed, several inventions for opening packs of cigarettes using one hand are based on a set of different folds of the package and essentially has no added parts. This usually results in a flip-flop effect, and radically changes the standard aperture shape of the package.
In addition, these inventions become ineffective or ineffective after the first uses. Or by spontaneous openings, by closures made impossible, or by a partial deterioration of the pack of cigarettes.
The present invention aims to provide a system for opening a pack of cigarettes with one hand, which is easy to use, which maintains the content in a state of freshness equal to that proposed in a classic cigarette pack, which opens in a normal way and corresponding to the same need to open the use of a conventional cigarette pack, and which also allows a closure with one hand.
Moreover, the push button can be of shape, thickness, colors and material infinitely varied.
This package does not open accidentally and can be carried in purses, pockets and other small compartments.
For this purpose, the present invention relates to a system for cigarette packs that can be opened and closed with one hand, characterized in that it is provided with a push button, a lever arm , a flexible hinge and a lever base directing the effort provided in the use of this invention.
This invention can be used in the current state of the art, and does not modify the effect produced when opening a pack of cigarettes not equipped with the present invention.
The present invention relates to a cigarette pack system that can be opened and closed with one hand, in which is placed a lever base at the inner level of the lid, back side. This lever base is shaped and of sufficient size to be able to provide the effort required for the tilting of the lid.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
This same lever base is connected to a flexible hinge permitting easy movement of the lid, and this during opening only during closing.
This hinge is itself connected to the lever arm which crosses the pack of cigarettes diagonally in its upper half. And spring on the front of the package at a height determined by the angle and length of the lever arm. In this way, the push button can also be placed at different levels.
The push button can be of various shapes and sizes. The location of the latter on the front of the package can be determined according to its size and shape. This push button may also be represented by various shapes and materials.
According to the invention, the base of the lever placed on the inner part of the back side cover will be L-shaped, placed on a larger base than the section of the L, this base allowing the improvement of the leverage effect. The vertical part of the L will be fixed on this base, which itself will be fixed to the inner side of the lid, the horizontal part of the L will be the inking point of the flexible hinge.
This attachment point will be in a position perpendicular to the height of the cigarette pack when it is in the closed position and will be in a vertical position and parallel with the lower height of the cigarette pack when the lid is opened.
The flexible hinge will be the junction point between the base of the lever, specifically the attachment point located on the horizontal base of the L and the lever arm traversing the pack obliquely in the direction of its edge (thickness).
The lever arm will cross the cigarette pack obliquely in the direction of the thickness of the pack of cigarettes. An opening will be made in the front of the pack of cigarettes. This is to allow the lever arm to slide from bottom to top for opening, and up and down for closure.
The lever arm will be equipped with a push button allowing easy contact.
The push button may be of various shapes, materials and dimensions.
The present invention will now be described by way of example only with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: - Figure 1 is a view of the invention alone - Figure 2 is a view of the invention placed in one of the Figure 3 is a view of the invention placed in a closed packet. Before describing the present invention, it should be noted that the present application describes the invention as an integral part of the packet. As well as in the position in which the user will hold it to open it, unless another position is indicated.
It should also be noted that the mechanism (lever arm) can be, if necessary, bent.
This is to integrate between cigarettes, if they are placed in staggered rows.
The same goes for the incision made in the front of the package. This can be done in only part of the front of the package, without having to
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
must be practiced to the end.
This implies that for the incision, the choice can be determined according to the type of implementation used in a production.
The invention may be secured in the package by means of gluing or other linking mechanism.
Figure 1 shows a view of the invention alone. Figure 2 & 3 show a view of the invention in an open & closed package. The numbering of the different elements is identical and refers to the same parts or parts for the three views.
The dashed lines (A) in FIGS. 2 & 3 denote the fold line existing on the cigarette packs. This fold line exists in a standard manner in cigarette packs box, and is in no way dependent on the implementation of the present invention.
The base of the lever, shown here in separate parts (2 & 3), is in fact, one and the same piece. This lever base, will be the tool needed to tilt the lid. The piece (2), flattened, will serve to accentuate the pressure exerted on the lid; in thrust during opening and in tension for closing. It is for this reason that it is wider than the second part in L.
The second part in L (3), will be connected to the flexible hinge (4). It is therefore this part that will produce the pressure necessary to open the lid.
The flexible hinge (4), will be the link between the lever arm (5) and the base of the lever (2 & 3).
This hinge (4) must be flexible because of the advancement of the lever arm inside the package during opening. Indeed, the flexibility of it allows the full opening of the lid (in the context of a normal and normal opening), lid back and back of the package at right angles. This flexible hinge (4) also allows to exert a continuous pressure during opening, which would not allow a direct hinge between the lever arm (5) and the base of the lever (2 & 3).
The flexible hinge (4) thus allows complete opening, and allows the lever arm (5) to remain in contact with the front face of the package.
The lever arm (5) allows with sliding upwards; the opening of the pack of cigarettes. Closing the pack of cigarettes will require sliding down.
It crosses the package and is located between the cigarettes, one end is fixed to the flexible hinge, the other is to the push button (6). The end connected to the push button (6) therefore passes through the front face of the package. This lever arm can be straight or bent shape according to your disposal of cigarettes inside the package.
An incision (B) must be made in the front of the package. Either contained entirely in the front of the package (double hatched), or a complete incision from the top of the front of the body of the cigarette pack (double hatched + single hatched).
The push button (6) will be attached to the lever arm (5) and may be of various shapes. It may be convex to facilitate contact with the thumb when opening unless another method of use is indicated.
To operate the opening of the package, the user first presses the push button (6) before moving it upwards (towards the lid).
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Closing requires only a downward movement.
These features give the user the following advantages: a) ease of operation for opening the package; (b) the tension produced when holding the package is sufficient to leave the package open; and c) easy operation for closing the package.
Other packages that open with one hand only refer to the opening of the package, but do not mention that closing the package can only take place by changing the position of the package in the hand, or sometimes, not needing both hands to close it. This reduces the advantage of opening with one hand, since the second is essential for closing. The same goes for the need to have to change the position of the package in the hand, this multiplying the efforts provided for the closure.
The present invention allows to keep open the package with one hand, this will provide extra effort to that provided to keep it in hand.
Therefore, the present invention is more convenient for the user, being a true package opening and closing with one hand.
