Ustensile muni d'au moins un couvercle pouvant pivoter autour d'un axe. L'objet de l'invention est un ustensile muni d'au moins un couvercle pouvant pi voter autour d'un axe. Il est caractérisé par un organe de préhension monté rotatif au tour d'un axe, cet organe présentant des moyens qui, lorsque ledit organe est amené dans certaines positions, agissent sur le cou vercle afin de l'ouvrir en le faisant pivoter autour de son axe.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de l'usten sile selon l'invention, constituée par une boîte à biscuits ou à pâtisserie.

La boîte représentée comporte deux cou vercles 1 et \? en celluloïd transparent 9. Chaque couvercle comporte, sur trois côtés, un cadre métallique, tandis que, le long de son quatrième côté, il est muni de charrons. Les charrons des deux couvercles sont mon- tés sur un même axe 8, de façon que chaque couvercle puisse pivoter autour de cet axe indépendamment de l'autre. La boîte com prend en outre un fond et deux parois laté rales en une seule pièce 3. L'axe 8 de la charnière passe au travers de la partie supé rieure des deux côtés latéraux.
Le fond de la boîte présente aussi un rebord tourné vers le haut, le long de chaque côté longitudinal, afin de constituer une bonne fermeture de la boîte, le bord longitudinal du cadre du couvercle venant appuyer sur ce rebord du fond lorsque le couvercle est dans sa posi tion fermée. De même, afin d'améliorer en core la fermeture, le cadre de chaque cou vercle est constitué, sur les deux côtés laté raux, par des pièces en équerre qui viennent recouvrir les bords des parois latérales de la boîte.
Un organe de préhension, constitué par une anse 6, est monté à pivotement sur l'axe de charnière 8 et est maintenu sur cet axe au moyen de deux vis d'extrémité 5. Chaque extrémité de l'anse pi-votée sur l'axe 8 se prolonge par une, partie 7 formant. 'came, destinée à venir en prise avec des parties 4 en forme d'ailettes que présentent, extérieu rement -à. la paroi latérale de la boîte, les cadres des couvercles 1 et 2. Lorsque l'anse est dans sa position verticale de repos, les parties 7 ne sont pas en contact avec les ailettes 4 des couvercles.
Par contre, si l'on fait pivoter l'anse vers la droite (fig. 2), ses parties 7 agissent sur les ailettes 4 du couvercle 1 et l'oblige à s'ouvrir en pivotant autour de son axe 8. Lorsque l'anse revient en position verticale de repos, le couvercle 1 revient également en position de fermeture sous l'action de la pesanteur, de sorte que la boîte est. fermée. En faisant pivoter l'anse vers la gauche, c'est alors le couvercle 2 qui sera ouvert.
Une autre forme d'exécution intéressante de l'ustensile selon l'invention est constituée par une pelle présentant un couvercle pivo tant autour d'un axe, un manche étant éga lement pivoté autour de cet axe, de telle sorte que, dans certaines positions du man che, le couvercle soit maintenu ouvert, par exemple par des moyens à cames et ailettes comme dans la forme d'exécution ci-dessus, tandis que, lorsque le manche est amené dans une position de repos, le couvercle revient dans sa position de fermeture sous l'action de la pesanteur. On pourrait par exemple munir le bord du couvercle d'une brosse.
Cette pelle sera alors avantageusement utili sée comme pelle à ordures, la brosse poussant automatiquement les ordures sur la pelle lorsque le couvercle revient en position de fermeture.

The box shown has two vercles 1 and \? transparent celluloid 9. Each cover has, on three sides, a metal frame, while, along its fourth side, it is provided with wheelwheels. The wheelwrights of the two covers are mounted on the same axis 8, so that each cover can pivot about this axis independently of the other. The box comprises moreover a bottom and two side walls in one piece 3. The axis 8 of the hinge passes through the upper part of the two lateral sides.
The bottom of the box also has a rim facing upwards, along each longitudinal side, in order to form a good closing of the box, the longitudinal edge of the frame of the cover coming to rest on this rim of the bottom when the cover is in. its closed position. Likewise, in order to further improve the closure, the frame of each cover is formed, on the two lateral sides, by square pieces which come to cover the edges of the lateral walls of the box.
A gripping member, consisting of a handle 6, is pivotally mounted on the hinge axis 8 and is held on this axis by means of two end screws 5. Each end of the handle pi-voted on the axis 8 is extended by a part 7 forming. 'cam, intended to come into engagement with parts 4 in the form of fins that present, exterérieu rement -à. the side wall of the box, the frames of the covers 1 and 2. When the handle is in its vertical rest position, the parts 7 are not in contact with the fins 4 of the covers.
On the other hand, if the handle is pivoted to the right (fig. 2), its parts 7 act on the fins 4 of the cover 1 and force it to open by pivoting around its axis 8. When the 'handle returns to the vertical rest position, the cover 1 also returns to the closed position under the action of gravity, so that the box is. closed. By rotating the handle to the left, then cover 2 will be opened.
Another advantageous embodiment of the utensil according to the invention consists of a shovel having a cover pivoted around an axis, a handle also being pivoted about this axis, so that, in certain positions of the handle, the cover is kept open, for example by means of cams and fins as in the above embodiment, while, when the handle is brought into a rest position, the cover returns to its position closing under the action of gravity. One could for example provide the edge of the cover with a brush.
This shovel will then be advantageously used as a garbage shovel, the brush automatically pushing the garbage onto the shovel when the cover returns to the closed position.
