<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>

REINFORCED CONCRETE PRELINTEAU
The present invention relates to a building element called a prelintel consisting of a piece of reinforced concrete forming a lintel with the masonry located above a bay opening in a wall wall.
A reinforced concrete prelintel has an elongated prismatic shape with a usually rectangular section delimited by a number of corresponding edges.
The prelintel is designed to be arranged in a substantially horizontal plane with the wide sides thereof in the above-mentioned horizontal plane. One of the aforementioned sides acts as a bearing surface. By the end zones thereof, the prelintel can then rest on the aforementioned opening of bay.
The opposite side of the prelintel acts as a surface by which the load of the upper parts can be transferred to the sides of the above bay opening.
The prelintel generally comprises a reinforcing structure reinforcement made up of several metal bars each placed opposite an edge.
To ensure its function of reinforcing the structure and its stability, it is essential that the bars are positioned correctly and in a durable manner.
Thus, it is known to arrange spacers to position the aforementioned bars. The known spacers are arranged in a horizontal plane to achieve spacing of the bars in this same horizontal plane. To achieve the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
prelintel, a mold is provided in the bottom of which is deposited each spacer. In the case of hollow lintels, the known spacer must be deposited in the bottom of the mold before the introduction of a removable formwork used for the formation of the aforementioned hollow. In this way, it is obtained that the two lower bars of the reinforcement are positioned together by the horizontal spacer thus conferring a consolidation and structural stability of the lower reinforcement bars.
Then, during a first concreting phase, the mold is filled up to the laying level of the two upper bars of the reinforcement. The two upper bars are then manually deposited in the fresh concrete before a second concreting phase during which they are completely covered with concrete until they reach the upper part of the mold.
However, with the known retractor and its implementation described above, it is not possible to ensure precise or lasting positioning of the two upper rebar. Indeed, the filling itself of the mold being very imprecise, it is practically impossible to ensure that the bars are placed at the desired height in the mold. In addition, during the second phase of concreting, the vibration of the mold can cause the rebar by gravity, since the density of the metal from which the bars are made, in particular steel, is higher than that of concrete.
As a result, no spacer is used to position the two upper rebar mutually. This creates a problem of general positioning of the rebar, with the key, a problem of structural stability.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In addition, there is also the disadvantage of the concreting operation in several phases.
The present invention aims to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above. To this end, there is proposed according to the invention, a prelintel as defined in claim 1.
In this regard, there is proposed a reinforced concrete prelint intended to form a lintel with the masonry located above a bay opening in a wall wall comprising a frame consisting of longitudinal reinforcing bars, in particular metallic. The prelintel has a bearing surface by the end zones from which it can be carried on the sides of the aforementioned opening and a support surface opposite it. A reinforcing bar is at least provided opposite each longitudinal edge of said support and support surfaces respectively. The prelintel further includes a set of spacers for spreading a pair of mutually adjacent rebar.
The prelintel proposed according to the invention is remarkable in that each spacer is arranged between a pair of reinforcing bars, one of which is not one of those located opposite the edges called the bearing surface.
Thus, thanks to the innovative arrangement according to the invention of the spacers, the concreting of the prelintel can be carried out in a single phase from the moment when all the reinforcing bars are placed in the mold at the appropriate location. This is an advantage in the field of concreting.
In an advantageous embodiment of the prelintel according to the invention, each pair of rebar has its own spacer making it possible to ensure a predetermined mutual positioning of the bars within each pair of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
bars by the corresponding spacer. Thanks to the positioning of all the rebar by spacers, a significantly improved stability of the structure is obtained.
According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the prelintel has a practically rectangular cross section and comprises at least two pairs of rebar which are positioned two by two with arrangement of spacers along the short side of the prelintel.
Thus, thanks to the arrangement of the spacers along each short side of the prelintel, a substantial saving of material is obtained for the spacer since it is much shorter. In addition, since the prelintel is generally placed on one of its greater width surfaces, the spacers are found, after installation of the prelintel, in a substantially vertical position. This results in a lack of deformation, even in the long term, giving ms) impeccable stability to the assembly.
In addition, thanks to the arrangement on each opposite side of the spacer, the prelintel can be placed on each of the wide sides. This results in a total absence of constraint for the installation of the prelintel, which facilitates the task of the underwriter.
In addition, thanks to the predetermined mutual positioning of all the rebar in connection with one of the bottom, the concreting can be carried out in a single phase and the position of the rebar is maintained throughout the duration of the mold filling phase, as well as later, after the concrete has set.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Yet another advantage resulting from the particular arrangement of the spacers resides in the fact that the standards in terms of static, fire, corrosion resistance can be respected.
In order to save material or obtain lighter lintels, these are made with a central recess or hollow. To this end, a removable formwork is provided inside the mold, so as to give the desired shape and dimension to the hollow. We are limited in the dimensions thereof by the need to ensure sufficient stability to the lintel. Thanks to the high-precision arrangement of reinforcing bars obtained with the spacers according to the invention, it is possible to provide more than one longitudinal recess in the lintel while keeping a completely satisfactory level of stability.
In addition, the spacer does not necessarily have to be placed in the mold before the introduction into it of the recess formwork.
The elongated and pointed shape of the spacer allows the introduction of the latter into the mold in the presence of the aforementioned forms. In addition, the reinforcement bars can be inserted into their respective spacers by simply pressing them downwards.
Furthermore, an important advantage resulting from the particular shape of the spacers still lies in the fact that they have only one point of contact with the removable part of the mold. This therefore significantly reduces the risk of cracks forming at the point of contact.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
In addition, the spacers are only visible in two places, namely at the height of the lower edges, which constitutes an appreciable aesthetic advantage.
In addition, the spacer has a shape which gives it self-stability with respect to the mold. Thus, if the retractor were to leave its stable position by losing its punctual contact with the formwork, the weight of the rebar and the vibration of the mold would have the effect of bringing the retractor back into place by gravity.
Other particularities are defined in the sub-
EMI6.1
claims.
Other details and advantages will appear from the following description of an exemplary embodiment - of a prelintel according to the present invention in the light of the appended drawings given for purely illustrative and non-limiting purposes. ',', ' 1
Figures 1 to 4 respectively illustrate views in cross section of a prelintel according to the invention, first without and then with arrangement of spacers according to the invention for the first two, on the one hand, and then views side and rear / front of the aforementioned spacer for the last two on the other hand.
Generally speaking, a prelintel should be understood as a reinforced concrete building element forming a linteaû with the masonry located above a bay opening made in a wall.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
Figure 1 shows, in cross section, a reinforced concrete prelintel whose frame consists of a number of reinforcing bars, for example four designated by the references 11, 12, 13, 14 in the case of a rectangular section prelint as shown. Each reinforcing bar 1 is arranged opposite a longitudinal edge 34 of the prelintel and is made of a material, preferably metallic, of density greater than that of concrete, thus giving enhanced stability to the overall structure.
The mutual positioning of the reinforcing bars is carried out by a spacer 4 as illustrated in FIG. 2. Remarkably, the four reinforcing bars 11, 12, 13, 14 are made integral two by two by means of two spacers 4 which are preferably placed vertically parallel to the short side 33 of the prelintel. There is thus obtained a positioning of the set of rebar 1 which is safe, which is particularly desired in the case of the reinforced concrete prelintel requiring an extremely reliable initial positioning.
The prelintel advantageously has a recess 3, preferably several, two as shown in the figure extending longitudinally and right through the prelintel. This makes it possible to save material while considerably reducing the weight of the assembly. Each recess 3 is produced in the traditional way by means of removable formwork, not shown, the shape of which imposes that of the cylindrical recess 3. The spacers 4 have an elongated shape allowing their introduction into the mold after the installation of the aforementioned forms.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
An enlarged detailed view of the spacer 4 is shown in FIG. 3. A core 40 can be distinguished therein extending between two receiving eyelets 41, 42 provided to each receive one of the rebar 1. L 'one of the aforementioned receiving eyelets 41 is provided on its outer periphery with a lug forming a projection 43. This 43 forms the only contact zone between the spacer 4 and the removable part of the mold consisting of the aforementioned recess formwork . Said contact area can thus be considerably reduced, which notably reduces the risk of crack formation which is inherent in this type of contact area.
The opposite receiving eyelet 42, for its part, is provided with a support tab 44 extending at a certain angle relative to the core 40 in the direction opposite to that of the aforementioned lug 43. The aforementioned angle depends on the section dimensions of the prelintel. The support tab 44 is used to allow a stable installation of the spacer in the bottom of the mold. In addition, it allows, thanks to its free end of elongated and rounded bearing support, to show the spacer in only two places, especially at the level of the lower edges. This constitutes an aesthetic advantage regarding the final appearance of the prelintel.
In addition, due to its particular shape, the spacer has a certain self-stability with respect to the mold, more particularly the removable formwork parts thereof.
Thus, if during the preparation of the prelintel and as long as the concrete has not set, the retractor would leave its position of stability by deviating from its position of point contact with the cylindrical formwork, the weight of the bars of armature 1 and the vibration of the mold would automatically return the spacer 4 to its original contact position
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
under the effect of gravity. The spacers can be made for example of plastic.
During the manufacture of the prelintels, the spacers 4 are arranged at regular intervals along the rebar 1.
The positioning of two consecutive spacers on a reinforcement table used as a manufacturing device is advantageously obtained by providing an appropriate profile on the back of the spacer, preferably a rib, more particularly in the shape of a cross, as illustrated in FIG. 4, in its lower half. This cross-shaped rib is then placed in a corresponding profile provided in the aforementioned reinforcement table, a process which is repeated at regular intervals.
As soon as all the reinforcing bars 1 are placed in the mold, the concreting can take place in a single single phase. The mold is then filled directly with concrete, up to its upper part, while the position of the rebar is maintained throughout the filling phase first and finally thereafter. Perfect structural stability is thus obtained.
