Abreuvoir automatique pour bétail, à fixation simplifiée
La présente invention concerne un abreuvoir automatique pour bétail, comprenant un bassin formé d'une cuvette et d'un élément formant pont rapporté sur le bord arrière de celle-ci, présentant un profil en T ou en L couché et destiné à la fixation du bassin à un tuyau vertical ou à un mur d'étable, étant précisé que l'aile horizontale de l'élément formant pont est pourvue, en son milieu, d'une ouverture verticale destinée à recevoir une première section verticale de conduite d'arrivée d'eau ; un coude ou un organe similaire qui est raccordé par sa branche approximativement horizontale à une seconde section verticale de conduite d'arrivée d'eau disposée, fixe en rotation, sur l'élément formant pont, et qui est relié à celle-ci de façon rigide ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Ce but est atteint, selon l'invention, par un abreuvoir automatique pour bétail du type spécifié en introduction, grâce au fait que la paroi arrière de la cuvette comporte, en son milieu, une ouverture d'introduction à travers laquelle passe, quand on l'introduit de l'avant vers l'arrière ou inversement, l'unité de construction formée par la seconde section de conduite à laquelle est reliée et fixée, comme première section de conduite, en haut, une pièce tubulaire apte à être introduite dans l'ouverture de réception et pourvue, d'un filetage extérieur, et par le coude, et dans laquelle ledit coude est apte à se déplacer vers le haut jusqu'à ce que la seconde section de conduite vienne buter contre la face inférieure du bord de l'ouverture de réception, à l'aide d'un épaulement extérieur ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

Automatic cattle drinker, with simplified fixing
The present invention relates to an automatic drinker for livestock, comprising a basin formed by a bowl and a bridge element attached to the rear edge thereof, having a T or L shaped profile lying and intended for fixing the basin to a vertical pipe or to a stable wall, it being specified that the horizontal wing of the bridge element is provided, in its middle, with a vertical opening intended to receive a first vertical section of inlet pipe water; an elbow or the like which is connected by its approximately horizontal branch to a second vertical section of water inlet pipe arranged, fixed in rotation, on the bridge element, and which is connected to the latter rigid;
a self-closing flow shut-off valve connected to the approximately vertical branch of the elbow and detachably connected thereto; and a valve actuating device comprising a rod which hangs approximately vertically, is capable of being displaced in a pendulum movement, is intended to open the valve, against an elastic force or the force of gravity , and is arranged in the middle of the rear wall of the bowl.
With the automatic drinker of this type known from the application DE 37 21 467 Al, instead of a threaded plug (52), the upper end of a vertical water inlet pipe (instead of 36) brought from below can be screwed, as the first vertical water inlet section, into the second vertical water inlet section (tubular part 16). In this case, the upper edge of the rear wall of the bowl is full from one end to the other and the second pipe section (16) extends above said wall, through the receiving opening ( recess 34) of the bridge element to the vertical fixing plate from which the second pipe section (16) is fixed by double screwing, using two fixing lugs added on the two sides of the latter.
Compared to the state of the art concerned, the known automatic drinker has, it is true,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the advantage of being able to be assembled simply from a smaller number of insulated parts while allowing, as desired, a water intake from above or from below. But it is not simple enough, insofar as it forces two fixing lugs to be attached to the second pipe section and that it therefore requires two screw connections between the fixing lugs and the bridge element, the realization of these connections requiring not only two additional holes in the fixing plate of the bridge element, but also an internal thread in these holes.
The present invention therefore aims to create an automatic drinker for livestock of this type, which avoids these drawbacks of the known drinker and which can be achieved with lower expense, thanks to a simpler structure, and easily mounted, result.
This object is achieved, according to the invention, by an automatic drinker for cattle of the type specified in the introduction, thanks to the fact that the rear wall of the bowl has, in its middle, an introduction opening through which passes, when one introduces it from front to rear or vice versa, the construction unit formed by the second pipe section to which is connected and fixed, as the first pipe section, at the top, a tubular piece capable of being inserted into the receiving opening and provided with an external thread, and through the elbow, and in which said elbow is able to move upwards until the second section of pipe abuts against the underside of the edge of the reception opening, using an external shoulder;
and thanks to the fact that there is provided, screwed onto the tubular piece, a nut which is in contact with the upper face of this edge and defines a stop for a vertical water inlet pipe screwed onto said tubular piece or for a connecting sleeve with this pipe.
The advantage of the automatic livestock waterer of the present invention lies mainly in the fact that at
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
With the exception of the nut, all the elements participating in the water supply from the vertical water supply pipe suitable for being connected from the bottom or from the top to the bowl, can not only be pre- assembled as a whole and be connected in this form to the bridge element, as before, but this is possible thanks to a mounting with a hole which simply requires the positioning of the circular tubular part on the second pipe section , through the receiving opening, and the screwing of the nut on the external thread of the tubular part.
This screw connection is sufficient, and it is therefore no longer necessary to drill after the fact the bridge element cast in a single operation with the bowl, to achieve in the holes an internal thread for the screws intended for fixing the second pipe section.
With a preferred embodiment of the trough of - the invention, the second pipe section thereof has an internal thread for screwing from below the external end thread of an inlet pipe of vertical water, as was already the case with the known drinker, for the threaded plug, it being specified that the tubular part possibly carries a plug capable of being screwed. An external thread on the second section of pipe would not be appropriate because the elbow would prevent the end of the pipe or a connecting sleeve from being screwed.
In a preferred manner, a construction unit is defined in one piece by the second pipe section and the tubular piece, and optionally includes a continuous internal thread. This removes the assembly of these two elements. In addition, a vertical water inlet pipe brought from above can be screwed as desired into or onto the tubular part, with its lower end provided with an external or internal thread. It is also intended that the construction unit defined by the second pipe section and the elbow is made in one piece, as was already the case with the known drinker, so that here too, an assembly of the two items are removed.
Of a
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
preferably, a flange defining the outer shoulder of the second pipe section comprises two flat lateral surfaces which cooperate with a bilateral guide produced at the level of the bridge element on the underside of the edge of the receiving opening, so that the double construction unit formed by the tubular part, the second pipe section and the elbow is mounted on the bridge element while being protected against torsion.
With a variant of the preferred embodiment, it is possible to form on the outer shoulder of the second pipe section, two upwardly projecting parts, which engage in corresponding recesses formed in the horizontal wing of the 'bridging element, again allowing protection against torsion.
In a preferred embodiment, the receiving opening has a circular cylindrical shape since the tubular part which it receives also has a circular cylindrical shape. However, the reception opening does not necessarily have to have this form.
With a possible variant of the preferred embodiment, the bridge element may consist of two symmetrical halves connected by the front edge of the reception opening which has a semi-oval shape open towards the rear, and extends between the halves of the bridge member. This embodiment makes it possible to mount the elements of the drinker participating in the water inlet on a vertical water inlet pipe, then to fix the unit formed by the bowl and the element forming a bridge to said pipe. water inlet and to a vertical pipe or to a stable wall, which receive the high overturning moment of the bowl whose lining must be relieved.
For a horizontal, not a vertical, connection of the water inlet pipe, it could be provided that at least one lateral extension pipe provided with an internal and / or external thread and intended for the screwing of a pipe of arrival
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
horizontal water or a connecting sleeve to such a pipe is connected and fixed to the second pipe section, and that the horizontal width of the introduction opening is at least as large as the width, measured from the similarly, this section provided with one or two extension pipes in alignment with each other. In the case where the bridge element rests on the bowl using two vertical wings, each wing adjacent to an extension pipe must have an opening, for example a hole, for the passage of a pipe d water supply screwed to this extension pipe.
The invention will now be described in detail with reference to the drawings which represent, by way of example, a preferred embodiment of the drinker according to the invention and in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the mode embodiment, FIG. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section, taken along line II-II of FIG. 3, of the embodiment associated with a vertical water inlet pipe which is brought in from above and whose cross section d the cut end is shown, and Figure 3 is a bottom view of the embodiment without threaded plug.
In the exemplary embodiment, the automatic cattle waterer of the invention mainly consists of a basin 10 to which a bridge element 12 is attached, and of a lining 14 in several parts but forming a unit, which is removably connected to the bridge element using a single screw connection 16, it being specified that a vertical water inlet pipe 18 brought from above is also connected and that a plug threaded 20 making the seal watertight is located opposite said pipe 18.
The whole drinker is designed symmetrically with respect to a vertical median plane corresponding to the section line II-II of the figure
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
The drinking trough 10 is defined essentially by a bowl 22 approximately in the shape of a hollow spherical segment, the relatively flat and almost vertical rear wall 24 of which has, on its upper edge, a high rectangular introduction opening 26 which extends towards the top to the horizontal wing 28, following the upper edge of the rear wall 24, of the bridge element 12 profiled in the shape of a T in the main axis. Said element 12 comprises a vertical fixing plate 30 pierced with holes intended for mounting the protruding trough of the trough on a vertical pipe or on a stable wall.
For the support of the bridge element 12 against the bowl 22, these two elements of the trough are connected together by two parallel vertical wings 32 which are arranged on either side of the introduction opening 26 and which follow the underside of the horizontal wings 28 and the interior face of the fixing plate 30, thus defining a chamber which is open downwards and also towards the front, thanks to the introduction opening 26 , and in which the lining 14 partially engages. Said gasket 14 also passes through from below, with a circular tubular piece 34 which is provided with an external thread of the screw connection 16 and which defines a first vertical water inlet section, a vertical receiving opening 36 pierced in the horizontal wing 28 of the bridge element.
On the external thread of the circular tubular part 34 is screwed a nut 38 of the connection 16, which is tightened against the upper face of the edge of the receiving opening 36. On said external thread is also screwed the lower end, provided an internal thread, the water inlet pipe 18, the front face of which abuts the nut 38.
The gasket 14 comprises, in addition to the circular tubular part 34, a second vertical water inlet section 40 which follows it, below the horizontal wing 28, and the lower end of which is provided with '' an internal thread for the threaded plug 20 or, as a replacement, for
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
an external thread of the upper end of a vertical water inlet pipe brought from below in place of the pipe 18, in which case the pipe 18 is replaced by a plug screwed onto the circular tubular part 34 so that in in all cases, among the two water inlet sections 34 and 40, which have communicating cavities, the one which is not connected is sealed.
At its upper end, the second water inlet section 40 is provided with a polygonal flange 42 which, when the screw connection 16 is made, is applied, as the outer shoulder of the section 40, against the underside of the edge of the reception opening 36 and which has two flat, parallel and vertical lateral surfaces 44 which could slide along two corresponding guide surfaces 46, at the level of the underside of the horizontal wing 28, and are applied against these.
The lining 14 comprises a bent water pipe 48 formed by an approximately vertical branch 50 and a horizontal branch 52 which follows, on the side and towards the front, the second water inlet section 40, au- below the front edge of the receiving opening 36. The elbow 48, the second water inlet section 40 and the circular tubular part 34 thus form a unitary construction unit to which is connected, to the inside the bowl 22 and in front of the introduction opening 26 thereof, a flow stop valve 54 provided with an actuating device 56 which comprises a central valve opening bar 58 and a pipe coaxial water 60 emerging at the bottom of the bowl 22 of the trough.
In addition, the valve cage has a coupling nut 62 which is screwed to the lower end of the vertical branch 50 of the elbow. To open the valve 54, the pendulum pipe 60 is moved laterally or rearward. The valve 54 closes automatically, under the action of an elastic force, when the movement of the pipe 60 is finished.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
As regards the mounting of the lining 14 on the basin 10 of the drinking trough, said lining is first introduced, without the nut 38 but also entirely pre-assembled, with the tubular part 34 first, in the introduction opening 26 of the rear wall 24, through the front face thereof, then into the receiving opening 36 of the horizontal wing 28, so that the two lateral surfaces 44 of the flange 42 and the two guide surfaces 46 are applied against each other at the level of the horizontal wing 28, until the flange 42 abuts against the latter, after which the fitting 14 put in place is already blocked against a twist and must still be tightened using the nut 38 at the level of the bridge element 12. The disassembly is done in the reverse order.
