<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
- la zone pleine formant bandeau de signalisation présente au moins une face extérieure, agencée pour servir directement de support de signalisation, par exemple traitée de manière appropriée pour recevoir une impression par jet d'encre ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

INSULATING PLASTIC MATERIAL
SIGNALING
The present invention relates to plastic mesh, namely openwork structures obtained directly and completely by extrusion of thermoplastic synthetic resins.
Such gratings are now well known, and generally comprise a perforated and flat strip of plastic material, having a plurality of orifices distributed in the longitudinal direction of the strip, and in at least one transverse direction, for example perpendicular, of the same band. These orifices or perforations are therefore delimited in the sheet by longitudinal solid areas and transverse solid areas.
The use of such fencing has become commonplace and applies to all kinds of circumstances such as: - the delimitation of construction sites and temporary work, both on public roads and on private land, - the marking of ski slopes, - the guiding the public to access various events, - the materialization of certain dangerous passages, in particular in sporting events such as rallies.
Often, different signs, such as information panels, signposts, signs, advertising messages accompany the installation of these fences, to inform, warn, or warn the public or users.
The installation of such panels, additional to that of the mesh, and on the erection site of the latter, has various drawbacks.
First of all, the area covered by the mesh can be such that no residual space remains for the installation of an indicator panel.
Then, this installation represents an expense and an additional time to those relating to the layout of the fence.
Finally, the presence of the grid can mask, in whole or in part, or interfere with the readability of the messages to be communicated to the public or to users.
The present invention aims to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks.
More particularly, the invention relates to a plastic mesh compatible with signaling at the place of its erection or establishment.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
According to the invention, and generally, in at least one direction of extension of the strip constituting the mesh, for example longitudinal, at least one solid area hereinafter called signaling strip, located or at the edge of the plastic strip perforated, or intermediate between its borders, has a greater width than that of the adjacent solid areas. And, this signaling strip comprises, in an integrated manner with the material of the plastic strip, a signaling support.
This signaling support can then be coated or impregnated, in particular by printing such as ink jet, with a material of color and / or appearance different from those of the material constituting the strip forming a mesh, and the localized and controlled deposition of this material materializes the message or signaling information, which we want to reproduce or print.
By message or signaling information. we hear all kinds of messages or signs such as: - advertising or commercial messages. as logos, signs, slogans, brands and acronyms.
- signs or messages visible at night. by the use of fluorescent or retro-reflecting materials, - warnings, warnings, prohibitions, - information, advice.
These messages can be reproduced or printed in any color or shade.
In addition to integrating an informative function into a plastic grid, the invention also makes it possible to significantly improve the mechanical resistance of the plastic grid, in the direction of extension of the signaling strip. Such reinforcement can be of interest in the uses for which the grating can receive a shock or a significant force, for example! pushed an audience to channel.
The present invention also presents the following variants:
EMI2.1
- the sign can be located in. a median zone of the perforated plastic strip, between its two longitudinal edges for example; - Preferably, the signaling strip extends in the longitudinal direction of the plastic strip, but of course the extension of the third strip can be obtained in other directions, for example a direction perpendicular to the direction of recess of the strip 1
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
- The solid area forming a signal strip has at least one outer face, arranged to serve directly as a signaling support, for example treated appropriately to receive an inkjet print;
- The signaling support can also consist of a ribbon of a plastic material, identical or different from the material of the mesh, cl-extruded with that of the tape constituting the mesh; this co-extrusion also reinforces in significant proportions the mechanical resistance of the plastic mesh, in the direction of extension of the same strip; - the signaling support can be arranged continuously or discontinuously; the message can be printed or reproduced without interruption on the warning banner, or be reproduced discontinuously along the same banner.
The present invention is now described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: - Figure 1 shows a top view, but partial of the plastic mesh according to the present invention, - Figure 2 shows a sectional view along line 11- 11 of the
Figure 1 of the same grid, - Figure 3 shows a sectional view along the same line 1. 1-11. of another embodiment of a plastic mesh according to the invention.
A mesh according to the invention comprises a perforated and flat strip 1, generally obtained by extrusion of a plastic material. This strip has a plurality of orifices 2, distributed in the longitudinal direction of the strip, materialized in Figure 1 by the arrow A, and in a transverse direction, and more precisely perpendicular to the direction A, materialized in Figure 1 by arrow B. The orifices 2 distributed on the. strip 1 are delimited by solid areas 3, and more precisely by longitudinal solid areas 3a, and transverse solid areas 3b or perpendicular.
In the longitudinal direction of the strip, materialized by arrow A, and in a median zone between the two longitudinal edges la and. Ib of the same strip, the solid and longitudinal area 3c forms a signaling strip according to the invention. More precisely, the solid area 3c has a greater width than that of the adjacent solid areas 3a and 3b,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
and comprises, integrated into the plastic material of the strip, a signaling support 4, materialized or embodied in FIG. 2 by a solid line.
According to Figures 1 and 2, this signaling strip consists of an outer face of the solid area 3c, arranged to serve directly as a support for an impregnation or printing material, the controlled deposit of which makes it possible to reproduce the message delivered, represented by the letters A, B and C in Figure 1. The outer face of the solid area 3c, forming a warning banner, may or may not be treated to serve for depositing or impregnating the colored material, for example reproducing the message longed for. In particular, the constituent plastic material retained, and / or the extrusion method can make it possible to obtain a face of the strip, directly suitable for printing or reproducing colored messages or of appearance different from that of the plastic material. constituting the mesh.
In accordance with FIG. 3, the signaling support 4 is different from the solid areas 3 of the plastic mesh, and consists of a tape 5. always of identical or different plastic material, co-extruded with the material of the strip 1. And the face of this particular signaling support can be coated or impregnated with an ink reproducing the desired message.
