un magasin à palettes pour un magasin de palettes vides;
un palettiseur pour palettiser des sacs de matériaux en grains;
un poste d'attente de palettes entre le magasin à palettes et le palettiseur;
un moyen de levage pour soulever le magasin de palettes vides;
un moyen de fixation pour fixer les palettes au-dessus de la palette la plus inférieure en position soulevée;
enrober le matériau en grains d'un agent antiagglomérant;

amener une palette provenant du magasin jusqu'à un poste d'attente;
introduire une première palette provenant du poste d'attente dans un palettiseur;
amener une autre palette du magasin au poste d'attente;
déposer les sacs d'engrais sur la première palette;
décharger une palette complète du palettiseur;
Method and apparatus for processing granular materials
The present invention relates to an apparatus for processing granular material and, more particularly, to an apparatus for packaging granular fertilizers. The present invention also relates to a method for treating granulated fertilizers using the apparatus of the present invention.
In accordance with the present invention, there is provided an apparatus for packaging granular materials which comprises:
a pallet store for an empty pallet store;
a palletizer for palletizing bags of grain material;
a pallet stand between the pallet store and the palletizer;
pallet transfer means for transferring a pallet from the pallet store
at the waiting station; and
a means of transport for transporting a pallet from the waiting station to the palletizer.
the pallet transport means for transporting pallets from the pallet store to the waiting station comprising:
lifting means for lifting the store of empty pallets;
fixing means for fixing the pallets above the lowest pallet in the raised position;
release means for releasing the lowest pallet out of the empty pallet store; and
a means of transport from the lowest pallet to the waiting station.
The invention also provides a method for treating granular fertilizers using the apparatus of the present invention, the method comprising the following steps:
coating the grain material with an anti-caking agent;
wrap the coated grain material in bags;
load a pallet magazine with empty pallets;
bring a pallet from the store to a waiting station;
introduce a first pallet from the waiting station into a palletizer;
bring another pallet from the store to the waiting station;
place the fertilizer bags on the first pallet;
unload a full pallet from the palletizer;
bringing the second pallet from the waiting station into the palletizer; and
wrap the bags and the first pallet
in shrink wrapping.
The present invention will be better understood on examining the description below, given by way of example only, and with reference to the appended figures which represent respectively:
FIG. 1, a schematic diagram of a method for treating granular fertilizers according to the present invention; Figure 2 is a perspective view of part of an apparatus for packaging the grain material according to the present invention; Figure 3, a plan view of the apparatus of Figure 2; Figure 4, a side view of the apparatus of Figure 2; Figure 5, a schematic view of the apparatus in service; Figure 6, a side view, partially in cross section, of a portion of the apparatus; Figure 7, a cross-sectional view along line VII-VII of Figure 6; and
Figures 8a and 8b, schematic views showing the operation of a part of the device.
If we examine the figures, and first of all FIG. 1, we can see there an apparatus for packaging granular materials in accordance with the present invention and generally designated by the reference number 1. Only part of the device is shown in Figure 1 and has a pallet store 2 for an empty pallet store in this case from a stack of empty pallets 3 transported by a means of transporting empty pallets in the form of an automatic trolley
4 which transports the empty pallets from the stack of pallets 3 to a transfer station 5 near the pallet store 2. The pallets are transferred from the transfer station 5 to the store 2 by a grapple mechanism 6, shown diagrammatically in the Figure 1, and which will be described in more detail below. A pallet from the pallet magazine 2 is brought by a pallet transfer means of the present invention to a waiting station 10 and then to a palletizer 12 where
bags 15 of granular fertilizers are brought to be loaded on the pallet. A pallet loaded with bags of granulated fertilizer is then brought from the palletizer 12 to a shrinkable packaging station 19, where the pallet and the bags are provided with a shrinkable packaging, for storage.
In more detail and if we examine in particular Figures 2 to 8, we can see that the pallet magazine 2 comprises a frame 20 into which a stack, formed in this case of six empty pallets 21, is introduced by a grapple mechanism 6. A support frame 25 comprises lateral rails 26, 27 constituting tracks over which can pass
rollers 29 (see Figure 6) to move the grapple mechanism in the direction of the arrows A, as shown in Figure 2, to transfer a stack of pallets
21 from the automatic carriage 4 to the transfer station 5 towards the pallet store 2. The rollers 29 are housed in bearing housings 28.
The grapple mechanism 6 includes a pair of downwardly extending grapple arms 30 which are lowered and lifted by corresponding jacks 31 which are supported in jack housings. 32 mounted on grapple housings 35, in which the rollers 45 are mounted, as shown in FIG. 6, with a view to moving the grapple arms 31 in the direction of arrow B in FIGS. 2 and 6, by a jack transfer 40 from the closed or clamped position shown in solid lines in Figure 4 to the release position shown in dotted lines in Figure 4. The release position is exaggerated for educational reasons. The lower housings 35 are mounted on a transverse beam 46 disposed between the lateral rails 26, 27.
In service, when the automatic carriage 4
moves to the transfer station shown in Figure 2 near the pallet magazine 20, it actuates a switch which in turn causes the lateral movement of the grapple arms 30 towards the carriage 4. When the grapple arms 30 are at above the carriage 4, the arms 30 are taken out by the jacks 31 to come into contact with the stack of pallets 21 and transfer it to the pallet store 20. When the pallets are loaded in the store 20, the grapple arms 30 are released and the cylinders 31 are retracted, so as to raise the grapple arm 30.
To transfer a pallet from the pallet magazine 20 to the waiting station 10, pushers 50 are extended in order to lift the stack of pallets 21
and bring it into the position represented by the figure
8a. To release the lowest pallet of the stack of pallets, a clamping cylinder 51 having an arm
clamp 52 is extended in order to come into contact with the pallet above the lowest pallet 21 and to fix it in the fixed raised position, as shown in FIG. 8a. The pushers 50 are then retracted to allow the lowest pallet 21 to fall on a conveyor 55, which brings the lowest pallet 21 to the waiting station 10 for transfer to the palletizer 12.
When the lowest pallet 21a has
been brought to the waiting station 10, the pushers 50 are extended again to come into contact with the pallet
the lowest of the stack of pallets remaining in
the shop. The clamping cylinder 51 is then released to allow the stack of pallets 21 to fall back into the pallet magazine 2. When the pallet 21a is brought from the waiting station 10 to the palletizer 12, the process
is repeated in order to bring the lowest pallet remaining in the store to the waiting station.
The fact of providing a waiting station 10 between the pallet store 2 and the palletizer 12 makes it possible to benefit from considerable advantages for the work. It has been found that, in order to achieve optimum working efficiency, it is essential that the pallet is available to supply the palletizer on request. Until now, difficulties have also been encountered with the pallet store because, given the generally imprecise tolerance of the pallets 21, they could easily become blocked in the pallet store, so that the treatment of granular fertilizers had to be stopped to allow clearing of the pallet magazine.
By planning a waiting station, it is possible not to have to stop work since all the difficulties encountered with the pallet store can be eliminated, since an empty pallet can be manually introduced on a waiting station to ensure that work continues at all times.
The automatic trolley 4 also speeds up the work because it ensures at all times a pallet supply for the pallet store or, if necessary, for manual loading in the waiting station 10.
These characteristics and advantages, and others according to the present invention, are not limited to the embodiments described above, the construction and details of which may be subject to modifications.
