Abstract
The pair of tongs, especially for picking up dog's excrement, consists of two triangular frames (5, 6), joined by a spring-loaded pivot (1) through lugs (2, 3), and with one frame having its tip bent outwards relative to the other one to enable their bases (9) to be opened when pressure is applied to the tips. With a plastics bag fitted over the bases of the two frames, the tongs can be used to pick up a dog's droppings and then enclose them in the bag without any physical contact. When not being used to pick up the droppings, the tongs can be used as a handle for a dog's lead. The frames can be made from stainless or chromed steel rod, or other suitable material.

"Gripper handle for collecting dog excrement"
The present patent application refers to a clamp allowing dog handlers themselves, individually, to collect the excrement of these animals at the time they are deposited. This clamp performs the functions at the same time
EMI1.1
handle for the leash of the animal to which it is attached; using a plastic bag, it turns into a simple and practical instrument for collecting excrement; this pliers, besides being very aseptic, has the advantage of being inexpensive.
This isosceles triangle-shaped device, preferably made of chromed iron rod or stainless steel or any other suitable material, is used as follows:
When we want to collect the excrement from the ground, we start by holding the grip-grip by the point of union between it and the leash, that is to say the angle formed by the intersection of the two longest rods in the triangle. The clamp is introduced to the bottom of the bag with sufficient dimensions. It is strongly pressed with the fingers so that the clamp, when opening, spreads the bottom of the bag.
With the other hand we then form a cavity in the opening left
EMI1.2
by the forceps, so that the hollow formed in the bag is large enough to contain the dog's excrement. When you have picked up the excrement, you release the pressure of the fingers on the forceps so that the latter, by a return spring, closes again, trapping the faecal matter inside the cavity of the bag; this operation can be repeated one or more times, depending on the points where the excrement was deposited.
When you have finished this operation, you grasp the upper opening of the bag or mouthpiece, between your thumb and forefinger and turn it over like a sock; your excrement is then inside the inverted bag, without neither the fingers nor the forceps being soiled.

In order to assist in a better understanding of this description, we offer the attached drawings which represent one of the best embodiments.
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the gripper handle formed by two isosceles triangles, preferably made from a rod of chromed iron or stainless steel, joined by
EMI2.1
an axis l and two plates welded to the rod as its fixing point, 2 and 3, a return spring 4 which pushes outwards the upper ends of the two triangles 5 and 6, thus allowing the clamp to remain closed thanks to the ends of the spring 7 and 8, so that the clamp does not open unless there is pressure on its parts 5 and 6. The end 6 is also the support for the chain of the collar of the dog, while the sides of the base of the two triangles 9, covered with a thick layer of plastic applied by immersion, serves as a handle for the dog's collar.
FIG. 2 shows a profile view of the same part described above, on which we observe at the top of one of the triangles an angle 10, of about 45 degrees, which, when we press on the edge 5, rocks around its axis 1, causing the gradual separation of the two triangles from the axis to the base of the clamp or handle, giving rise at this end to an extension of the bottom of the plastic bag, which has been placed on the clip when closed. With the free hand, we then introduce the bottom of the bag inside the pliers, to prepare and form a hollow which will allow to collect and accumulate objects, dog excrement in the case which interests us.
FIG. 3 represents a partial perspective view of an alternative embodiment of a grip-grip according to the invention.
According to this exemplary embodiment, the upper end of the triangle 6 of the clamp consists of two ends of bent rods and applied elastically against one another. This allows
EMI2.2
the passage between them of a ring connected to the chalne or dog leash.
